My experience with Bishop's and anyone I've ever talked to that has been there hasn't been satisfactory. Some of their people are experienced but it seems like too many of them aren't. It's hit-or-miss. You may get a good hair cut one time, but then not the next and the stylist's schedules seem too different to keep up with them. You can't count on getting a good hair cut every time so I just don't go there anymore.
Pros: Nice place
Cons: Never know what you'll end up with

I went to this salon, and the girl that cut my hair seemed not to have enough experience and I saw the stylist next to me and she didnt look with much experience either I didnt truely loved my hair cut and my husband either plus there were some parts of my hair cut that were a somewhat chopped instead of looking like a smothly cut. IT wasnt terrible, but It wasnt professional either. I need to go somewhere else to get it done profesionally. I would have probably get something better in a cheaper place or tell your mom to do it. I payed $25 dls.+ $5 for the blowdry which I didnt asked. Its not expensive, but I was expecting to get something better. I wouldnt recomend this place, I dont know if someone at the salon would be an expert or if they have a standard on hireing their stylists, or if this place is more for men hair cut, but I didnt get a very nice cut. Also I didnt like all the pornografic photos posted all over the salon.

Living downtown I decided to give my local Bishops a try. I went into the location in SW. The wait was a little long (I went in around 3pm on a monday) but it was well worth it. I saw Kylie I believe her name was. She listened to what I wanted and was very easy to talk to. She's funny too, so that put me at ease. Everyone at the shop was friendly, and I'm really happy with my haircut. I will be going back!
Pros: hot stylists
Cons: the wait

She gives a great cut and color. Very cool, sweet, and talented! The salon is also in a great location, and has a fun atmosphere.
Pros: quality cut and color, prices, location

If you have had bad experinces in the past at your local Bishiops, I highly recomend the Bishops on NW 21st. I don't know what you guys are doing their but i think hands down have the best stylist in town. I had a off the hook time in their. The vibe is high, and not to mention the phat haircut I got. Keep it rockin, fo shizzle mo nizzel, if you don't want attitude, and a layed back vibe...this is your spot. Keep it commin guys,I like the change.

I had the good fortune to discover this place several cuts ago after a disastrous six months hair-hopping around town looking for a place where I felt comfortable with both my cut and the experience. I've been to places where I am surprised they don't offer to-go hats. I am always astonished at the continual miracle resting on my head after one of these stylists goes to work like Edward Clipperhands. The wait's rarely much (particularly for a place that doesn't accept appointments) and you get to sit down, have a beer, flip through a magazine and people watch while you do. The receptionist is always flying around the place, letting you know what's going on, making sure you're having a good time. And she always takes a minute to play with my kid. That makes my day. Perfect.

I went into Bishops on 21st last week to get a trim....oh man! I love Bishops and Beer. I had great service. Everyone was really friendly and the music was awesome. I think Bishops should have spontaneous dance parties...with more free beer. My hair looked amazing and my stylist was the hottest man. Yay!
Pros: great service and music, hot people.
Cons: there isn't a Bishops in my backyard

After dissatisfaction at the SW Columbia location, I went to Bishops on NW 21st on a busy Saturday afternoon. Waiting customers overflowed onto the hot sunny sidewalk and there was an "hour plus wait list." I was told if I leave and come back I’d have to call back in a half hour or be crossed off the list. Too hot outside, I took a seat at the unused sinks. After a few minutes I noticed that, since I'd come in, all but one barber chair was empty and there were no stylists at any chair! A stylist did walk by an empty seat, put her cigs in her purse, checked her own makeup and hair, and disappeared. "How many stylists are on today?" I asked the receptionist. "Six or seven," she said. “Six or seven?” I said. She saw me look at all the empty chairs and said, "Well we do a lot of color." Confused, I asked if that meant they're all somewhere else. "Well, someone could be on break, someone might be in the bathroom..." She trailed off. I said to take my name off the list. On my way another employee who overheard this asked my name. I replied and he chirpily said, "Bye, Mike!"
Pros: atmosphere when they're paying attention is good, usually offer you a free beer
Cons: no sense of urgency and to much color for ladies means guys wait longer for a stylist
