Yes, it was almost painless. It was an experience that I will never forget. Dorene gave me my first Brazilian, and she did a very good job. She was very personable, and down to earth. She talk to me the whole time, and made me very comfortable. Dorene made sure that there was not one stitch of hair left. I totally recommended her to everyone that is thinking about getting any waxing done. I guess they gave her the right nickname The Wax Queen!

I have been going to the Face Place for about 3 years now. Dorene truly cares about all her customers. She is so respectful and professional, and at the same time being so much fun and easy to talk to. She makes everyone feel so comfortable and like one of her friends. I get the Brazilian wax, and wouldn't go anywhere else but to Dorene to get it done. She's fast, thorough, and painless. I was referred to Dorene by a friend of mine and have since referred her to everyone I know. If you are looking to get any facial or waxing you have to go to the Face Place, and I promise, you will never want to go to a different place.

Pros: Ambience, service, location, everything!!!

A few years ago a friend gave me a gift certificate to the Face Place for a facial and brow wax. I had gotten a few facials in the past....and yeah, they put a lot of goop on my face and then put different goop on my face.....I never really thought it was worth the time and money. BUT, after my facial with Doreen, I cannot lie, my face looked FANTASTIC! The products that she has there are phenomenal...and most importantly, she does not push ANY products on her clients! But trust me, take her recommendations...your face will thank you....and get a brow wax too.....

I've been going to the Face Place for almost 2 years now and here's a list of why it's the best: 1. Dorene the owner is the most talented in PDX. She has lots of experience and is lovely to work with 2. Best facials and microdermabrasion 3. best eyebrow wax and lash/brow tints 4. Oscar does the best massage ever 5. good parking 6. always clean and smells good 7. great Brazillian wax! I recommend it all the time to my friends.

I've gone to several wax joints to to get a brazilian, and Dorene is hands-down the best. First of all, the place is quiet, clean and calming--a true spa. Second of all, Dorene is so nice that you even forget the reason you're there. Finally--and this is the best--she somehow makes sure it doesn't hurt. Okay, the first time it hurts, but she helps you with breathing and a 321 countdown. She is authoritative, confident and literally the best in the business. I will never stray...she will wax me until the day I die. Or until I move. : )

I have seeing Dorene to get facials for over a year now, and the results have really been impressive. My acne has cleared up and revealed my true skin underneath. Recently I had to schedule with the other girl working there and I was afraid that it wouldn't be of the same quality as with Dorene, but she also did a wonderful job. Both girls have been very friendly, but they've also known when to shut up and let me relax! the products they used on me where fantastic, I liked them so much i purchased the cleanser and moisturizer she used on me during the facial. I would highly reccomend going to the Face Place to get a facial done, you definitely won't regret it.

The best brazillian around. I live in Eugene and drive up - that's how good the service is. If you are shy no worries because they aren't. This isn't for the faint of heart but if you are looking for thorough hair removal at the speed of lightning the Face Place is the best.

Ive been seeing Doreen to get my waxing services done for years, and I have to say she is the only person I trust to do my Brazilian, or brows. No one I have ever seen can get my brows just right, but Doreen always does. Highly recommended.

Pros: great service, atmosphere, very skilled

Cons: parking can take a few minutes, but i always find a place

i'm visiting my parents here in portland and needed to find a place that did a good brazilian waxing. i kinda went in blind but found this place by sheer luck thru city search. it was awesome! let's face it, brazilians hurt like a mother, but dorene did it fast and as close to pain free as i've ever had. she was also incredibly friendly and quite funny (which is always nice to take your mind off of the fact that your soul is being ripped out by its roots all for the love of a guy). she was professional, her place was clean, very reasonably priced, and did a superb job. she also uses great wax products that make it efficient and fast. kudos dorene! i wish you could come back with me to atlanta!

Cons: parking is ample but you still have to pay-part of being in the pearl district

i just moved to portland and i was really nervous to go to a new waxer. i didn't really want to ask a coworker, because let's face it, that's just awkward. so i did some internet research and then just crossed my fingers. i got really lucky. i had an amazing brazilian wax. it was really fast and not painful (considering the circumstances). i got waxed and back to work in 45 minutes without any pain.
