Best Thai in town! Hands down. I have ventured to find a place to top Thai Noon and always go back to whats best.
You have to try it for yourself, its really good quality authentic Thai
- Pros: Authentic Thai, Big Portions, Cheap

The food was cold and when it finally came the waiter almost threw it at us. We were over charged and charged for dishes that we didn't order and the "manager" refused to refund our card.
- Cons: poor service
I get sick every time
by foodgirl27
I love thai food and its so nice to have several right around my house but Thai noon makes me sick every time. Several of our friends have stopped eating there for the same reason. And its dirty.
broken dishes poor service I can put up with but the food is not safe.
NO customer service - food order was wrong

I ordered Thai food the week before but told the waiter that the food needed to be MILD becaue I will get sick if it has any spice whatsoever. The food arrived perfect!! It was absolutely the best that I've had in a long time. So my next day off I came in for some to go. I ordered it as before - MILD - no spices. This was a different waiter then previous so I explained and made sure he wrote down my order correctly because when I was talking to him I noticed he wasn't paying attention but just kept looking around the room. Got it home, took a bite and my mouth just about went on fire. That night the weather was cold, rainy and windy and I'm on a bicycle. I called the restaurant and asked for the Manager. It was the same guy who took my order. I explained and he asked me to bring the food back. I told him I was on a bike (which he already knew) and that I was now SICK from the food. He told me that was too bad but there was nothing he could do. I actually had to threaten to dispute the credit card charges if he didn't tear up the slip. What got me is how little he cared. He told me if I didn't like spicy I shouldn't eat Thai food. Suffice to say, I will be disputing the credit card charge even though I took the food back the following day.
- Pros: They can serve your order correct but they're NOT consistent
- Cons: Order wrong - I got sick - brought food back next day and he still wouldn't refund money
One of the best Thai places in Portland (and there is a lot of Thai here)
by hott_nickles3400
I have been going to Thai Noon for about 5 years now and even though I moved out of the area I continue to go. I eat a lot of Thai and this is definitely one of the top couple in a city that has tons of Thai places. I have had every dish many times and still never get tired of it. When you come here you can count on a great meal at a very reasonable price. Its one of those staple places for people who eat out a lot. Try the Catfish or the Pad Thai. The owners and staff are also very pleasant.
- Pros: Great Food, Low prices but not cheap ingredients, friendly staff
- Cons: Its a small local place, no chandaliers and cherry wood everywhere but who needs that?
One of the best Thai Restaurants in Portland!

Flavorful dishes, and not afraid of some spice -- this is not our neighborhood Thai restaurant, but worth the drive. The best Cashew Nut Chicken in town!
Not so good anymore.

We've eaten at Thai Noon in the past and enjoyed it. But recently we had take out and it was terrible. The panang curry was flavorless and watery. The spicy beans were greasy and overcooked. With so many great Thai options in town, we won't go back.
Ok but there's better

This is a cute little place, and I like the garage door being open on a sunny day, but I found the food pretty average. I think a little bit better food can be found at One Thai, just a block away from Thai Noon, in a town that has a lot of thai restaurants, there are far better alternatives. (or of course Siam Society, with really fantastic food if you're in the mood for something fancier)
Dont believe bad reviews this is a great place

I have been to this restaurant at least 15 times and have brought a number of friends along, including one Thai friend. All have agreed that food is exellent and tasty. Service is friendly, prices very reasonable. Go to this restaurant if you want good food in friendly atmosphere and low prices!
- Pros: food and people
- Cons: other uptight reviewers
Good for a sweet-tooth.

I am a lover of thai cuisine and recently moved to Portland. This is the only Thai restaurant I've been to in Portland, however, I've been a number of times. My experiences have been very mixed.
The first time, the food was wonderful. I went with a large group, ordering various dishes to share. I'm not sure I would label it as overly authentic though; many of the dishes tasted very similar, particularly the curries, and each was much sweeter than I am used to. The taste was slightly less complex. I've been there a few times since and have noticed the same thing.
As was noted before, the waitstaff is less than professional and sometimes downright rude. However, I should also note that I have noticed that to be much more common in Portland than anywhere else I've ever been (San Diego, LA, NY, Japan, Europe, etc.) The first time I went with the group, our waiter, a tall red-bearded man, listened in on our conversation much of the time and at one point entered into it. I think he meant well though. The last time, however, a much grumpier Thai waitress seemed as if she was trying not to serve us. When I finally got her attention and asked for more rice, she came back with a bowl only about a quarter full for three people and half a curry. "You only want a little right?" she said shortly and plopped the bowl down on the table as she walked away.
All in all, the food here is yummy, though quite average as Thai food in America goes in my opinion. After my last experience, I will definitely try other places in Portland before going back.
- Pros: Cheap if you split dishes
- Cons: Hit-or-miss service
