Great therapy experience
by JMcGlaughlin at Citysearch
It took me a while to find this place, but once I did I was impressed. I desperately needed physical therapy for my left ankle so I could take my dog out for his daily exercise, and the service I received at CH is rivaled by NOBODY. I was taught how to do my exercises safely and without pain (a miracle, if you ask me) by Robbie and Colin, 2 gentlemen who really know there ways around the ankle. What blew me away is how weakness in my hip muslces affected my ankle pain! The scheduling can get a little tough at times because it gets crowded, but overall this was well worth my time and insurance covered it all!
- Pros: Showed me how to treat my own injuries, friendly staff
- Cons: Schedule is difficult to accomodate sometimes
Excellent for Auto Accident PT
by Bouschor Family at Citysearch
My wife, adult son and myself were in an auto accident. We received excellent care and skill knowledge as to how to help with the therapy. All suggestions and actual therapy with Colin, owner, was excellent! His pushes you beyond what you think you can do and that makes a positive difference. I highly reommend this skilled man who understands the body and how to repair it after a traumatic accident! Edmund Bouschor, Portland
- Pros: PT Owner and Therapist Colin was amazing & skilled !
CH fixed my knee
by PRDavidson at Citysearch
I had ACL reconstructed surgery on my right knee last summer and my doctor referred me to CH for rehab. What I appreciated most about this clinic is how attentive the physical therapists are to me during my appointments. I had physical therapy before coming to CH and it was unimpressive in this regard. The CH front office does need a little work, as they sometimes seemed disorganized when scheduling appointments. Overall, though, this clinic has the best rehab in town.
- Pros: Attentive, professional physical therapists, effective rehab
- Cons: office staff inconsistencies (nice, just clueless at times)
Tough PT but worth my time
by WellsW at Citysearch
I had been to several PT's for my elbow problem with little to no success. Whe I met Colin 2 years ago at his Pearl location it was obvious this company does not do "normal" physical therapy, which peaked my interest. The insurance coverage was great so I had my doctor refer me for physical therapy. In 2 months I had almost full motion with my elbow and almost no pain which shocked me. The entire staff at C.H. was always helpful and kind. I highly recommend them.
- Pros: Great physical therapy, attentive office staff, ambience
Physical Therapy that Exceeds Expectations
by stevewidmer123 at Citysearch
This physical therapy is quite different from any I've done before.
The combination of stretches, cardiovasular, and resistance exercise training, taught with emphasis on joint protection, has allowed me to physically do things I could not do comfortably before. For example, I removed over 1 ft. of snow from a 24 ft. x 30 ft. flat roof and did not experience lower back pain and stiffness.
They have given me tools that I can continue to use to stay physically active and relatively pain free and protect my joints at the same time.
I like the fact that there are 3 locations and that the therapy is the same at each location.
Robbie is the best!
by mrtibbs1 at Citysearch
My headline says it all! I've never had successful physical therapy before until I saw Robbie at the Beaverton clinic. My shoulder was completely broken for the last 4 years and nothing helped. The exercises I learned at CH helped me work out again like I used to but without all the pain and Robbie's also really knowedgeable about how to do them so that I know WHY to do them in such a way. My doctor was amazed at my progress and he raves about them like I do. Go to CH if you want the best!
- Pros: Great physical therapy with a sense of humor, parking is plentiful
Recommend C.H. for seniors
by Youngmaid at Citysearch
C.H. physical therapists are top notch! At 81 years old and feeling every year of it, the therapists at C.H. helped me improve my balance so that I can walk with my cane again without being scared of falling. It was very hard work but my doctor told me it would be because that's C.H.'s reputation. Insurance coverage was also very good and the front office secretaries helped make sure that my treatment sessions were all covered. I give C.H. my highest recommendation for helping seniors get better!
Feeling much better thanks to CH
by Luvspoodles at Citysearch
Finally, after 4 months of physical therapy at CH, I'm able to sleep again. My orthopedic surgeon referred me to CH after a horrible car acident 2 years ago. I could hardly turn my neck without serious pain for months. The thought of lifting weights to get better scared me to death but Colin showed me how so that I could recover as quickly as possible. I think the best thing for me was the combination of physical therapy at CH and adjustments by my chiropractor, and I really appreciated Colin's willingness to work with my chiropractor to make sure my treatments worked together instead of against each other. Colin also helped me eat better and loose 17 pounds during the course of physical therapy. It was amazing to me how much better I felt going to physical therapy just by changing a few things around in my food habits and sleeping has never been better. I give CH my highest recommenedation!!
- Pros: Best physical therapy in Portland
- Cons: Scheduling sometimes is difficult
Wish I would've known about CH sooner!
by KThompson123 at Citysearch
After having physical therapy twice for my ankle and foot with little results, I found out about this clinic by watching "The Fitness Show" on PBS. My email was responded to promptly by Colin (much appreciated!) and I got a referral by my chiropracter. What struck me most about CH is it's attention to detail with my exercises as they don't let you get away with doing ANYTHING wrong! Everything they had me do was well worth my time and energy and I simply cannot believe how much better my ankle feels! My only complaint is that I wish I would've known about CH sooner so I could have saved all that time and money wasted on lousy physical therapy. The office staff is also first rate and always helpful, but parking can be an issue when going to the pearl location.
- Pros: Meticulous technique with exercises, nice staff, great equipment, atmosphere
- Cons: parking (sometimes)
alot of problems
by xavierpo at Citysearch
I've only been to CH a few months: My shoulder and neck are definitely feeling better. There seems to be alot of staff turnaround, for the clinic itself being so nice I can't understand why there staff is so unstable. My biggest concern is how well the owner Colin Hoobler actually screens his staff or takes the time out to get a criminal background check, considering his new office manager is a convicted felon. I had my physical therapist ask me if I would actually refer anyone, I told him "no", to many faces, I wanted only one physical therapist and ended up seeing more than two, I also had problems with my bills, I've had quite a number of friends and business partners who have needed physical therapy; CH would not be the place to send them. Thank you Andre and Robi for doing a wonderful job. Keep up the good work.
- Pros: physical therapists are very nice and attentive
- Cons: staff problems, not consistent with patients
Pain Free & Loving It
by hisiamone at Citysearch
The best thing my husband and I ever did for ourselves was to start streghtening exercises to alleviate some of the chronic pain we tolerated everyday. Robert Fleming (Tanasbourne Clinic) and the orthopedic doctors cured my husband of his chronic knee pain. For the last 20+ years every time he started an exercise program his right knee would swell and be so painful he either used crutches or a cane to get around. Now, he looks forward to our walks in Portland. For myself, I've tolerated shoulder/neck and hamstring pain for most of my life. Lately, it got to the point where I wasn't able to enjoy my hobbies, photography and computer graphics. With every visit to see Robi, my pain decreased until today I am able to once again enjoy my hobbies.
- Pros: Patient, methodical & caring
- Cons: Only available in Portland & the Metro Area
