oh my god sara...your like the my savier! haha i love what you did to my hair. ever since school started everyones like "dude..i love your hair i wish i had it" or "oh my god its sooo pretty" it feels pretty awsome having ppl you dont even no coming up to you and telling you how great your hair looks! :) im just glad to have someone like you who actually spends time on my hair and makes it look FANTASTIC! and to those ppl who just dont lik thier hair or wants something new or a different style...i sugjust you guys go to Blu Salon! once you go there your guna want to go back..and never stop!! P.S. thank you soooo much Sara!! and the violet showd up pretty well in my hair..it looks super duper awsome. :) cant wait til my hair appointment in November!!! :), stephanie

I like to get a great haircut and color without the sometimes pretentious feel of high-end salons. I went to Blu based on the reviews I read at City Search and was pleased... with a bit of mixed feelings. I went to Peggy and my first hair-cut was excellent. I went back and did not like my cut, with my friends finally agreeing that I had a dreaded "bad hair-cut." Peggy was out of town when I called for some fix-it-up help and Sara worked with me. She was amazing. She worked on it a bit to change the cut (already short so we didn't have many options) and then spent a significant amount of time teaching me how to style it. Peggy didn't have an opportunity to fix it and as I said, but I really liked my first cut & color with her. But, I am going with Sara for my next appointment. She was open, friendly, and seemed to be able to "see" what I was looking for. I have not had her color my hair yet. I will say that the overall feel of the salon is relaxed, something that means a lot to me. Everyone talks to you and they seem to pitch in to help each other out. It certainly seems to have a good vibe going there! So, why not 5 stars? 1. I had mixed results (I'll write again after my next appointment). 2. The cost. Yikes, it hurt when I paid! I hope that helps as I know how important it is to find a good, no-great salon and stylist! Overall, I am thrilled to be going back and I believe Sara will be a "lifer" hairdresser.

Pros: Friendly, Professional, Helpful

Cons: Cost--Quite expensive

I have been having Trish cut my hair for well over a year now, which for me is unheard of. I used to be a hair-dresser/salon-hopper! Trish (and Blu) put an end to my hopping! Since the first time Trish cut my hair, she has consistently given me the BEST HAIRCUTS EVER. People are always asking me where I get my hair done. Trish LISTENS and somehow manages to figure out the idea I have in my head and then makes it happen. She is AWESOME! I have referred her to three of my close friends. In fact, one of them is getting married and Trish is doing her hair! If you are sick of so-so (or downright BAD) haircuts, then you need to stop into Blu. The staff is very considerate, always willing to help, and have a great sense of humor! I highly recommend this salon and Trish! P.S. Thank you Trish for all of the great cuts! Can’t wait to come back again soon! Sorry this review is LONG overdue. :o)

Pros: The staff, the products, the location, EVERYTHING!!!

Cons: There are no cons! This place rocks!

Since moving back to Portland, I've struggled to find a stylist here I like. After sampling a few places and not really being happy with the results, I finally found Blu and Sara. She's great! Sara listened carefully to what I wanted and made helpful, knowledgable suggestions. She gave me beautiful, multi-dimensional color--no stripes--and a cool layered cut that fits my hair type, my style, and my age. I am definitely going back!

I went in yesterday to Blu for the first time with bleached to distruction hair. April worked wonders giving me the best blend of colors i have gotten yet. Very good cut too! After two salons I am finally glad to have found a stylist I can trust with my hair. The place is clean and the staff is friendly and if you want a very artistic, knowlegable professional at a reasonable price (nearly unheard of these days) ask for April. You won't be disappointed.

I just moved here from New Mexico and was worried I wouldn't find a good hairstylist. Sara came highly recommended by a guy I met at an AT&T store. I took his advice and made an appointment. She did an absolutely fabulous job! I am so glad that I decided to get my hair done by her. The prices are a little bit more than I am used to but I feel so confident with my new hairstyle that it was definitely worth it. I won't be going anywhere else for my hair... You won't leave disappointed!

Jill is my stylist at Blu. First visit Jill did a really complete evaluation of my hair (texture, hair line, etc.) and my facial shape before recommending a new style. She did a fabulous job on the cut and styling, I've gotten many compliments on it, and highly recommend her. Jill is interesting, friendly, but professional and clearly very competent. The atmosphere of the salon is sophisticated without being pretentious, and the place is lovely. It's clear that the staff there is serious about style and design, and they work at a higher level than other salons. I love the place.

Pros: Competent staff, pleasant atmosphere, great service, great value.

Cons: None. It's great.

I had a great experience at Blu a week ago. The stylist, Tricia, really listened to what I wanted and what I wanted is what I got but even better than I anticipated. I am a no-fuss hair person and usually am disappointed the days after a cut because I refuse to do all the products and fru-fruing the stylist does when I initially get my cut. Well, as I said, it has been about a week since the cut and I love my hair more and more! I will definitely go back. The price is right, the place is pleasant and comfortable. The people are nice and most importantly, talented at what they do!

Pros: Everything was easy and great for my visit

Cons: none that I encountered

I definitely loved Blu. April is awesome, she did a fantastic job with my haircut. You definitely feel as though you are in good hands at Blu a Salon. I dont see how you can go wrong!

I give this place five stars. April is pure magic. I went to her after getting a bad haircut and she was able to fix it and make it look amazing. I love how she cuts my hair. She's more than able to give you a great cut, she's able to visualize what style will make you look even more beautiful. I am SO thankful that I found her. She rocks. I HIGHLY recommend going to her. -Sarah
