Really great hair salon

I've gone through may fair share of salons over the years. A friend of mine suggested I try Platform Salon. I did and I'm so happy that I found this place. Pauline, the owner, has transformed my hair. The color looks amazing and I love the style she has giving me. Not only is Pauline a very cool gal she really knows her stuff. She listened to what I wanted and came up with a sassy new look for me...LOVE IT! I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair color in my life. This salon is very trendy. You can enjoy a glass of vino and check out the latest photos on the walls, all while getting an off the charts scalp massage. Bottom line if you want fab hair from an upscale salon without the upscale attitude then go to Platform and check out my gal Pauline.

• Pros: Hip location, very clean
• Cons: haven't found any.

April gave me a wonderful haircut!

I recently returned from a year abroad from China and was in desperate need for a haircut. I had a stylist in China who had given me a new style of haircut and I was worried that it would be hard to replicate it with another stylist here in Portland. April new exactly what to do, she listened to my ideas about it but also put in some of her own ideas. She was very precise and wasn't rushed at all. I will definitely go back to her in the future, probably next week since my last haircut with her was over a month ago and my bangs are getting long! I would definitely recommend April, you won't be disappointed!

Molly Scrutton is Fabulous!

Molly has been doing my hair for over three years now. I followed her to Platform from another salon and it was well worth it!

I repeatedly get compliments on my blond locks by random people and I owe it all to Ms. Scrutton. If I want to try some new color she is always honest of how it will look with my fair skin tone and my wanna be frizzy hair that she tames down to a beautiful straight look or a soft curled look. Going home after seeing Molly is a waste - it's time for heading out on the town or to see friends and family. I highly recommend her and say if you are need of a new stylist, try Molly!

Paige at Platform is world class- not an overstatement!!

I love this salon-location and folks. Paige has been doing my hair wonders for the past 2 years now and I can't say enough great things about her. She is always prompt and confident and fun-she always has a smile and an honest opinion about my wacky hair ideas : )

If you want the best-go with Paige Rene and Platform in the Pearl! AAA+++

Best salon in Portland

Update to the dummy at the front desk that couldn't schedule appointments. He has been replaced with a sweet, smart, polite receptionist. We should be back on track now. Thanks.

double check the schedule

Normally someone messing up the schedule for my haircut isn't the end of the world, but today it happened for the second time with this salon. Ja'nein did an amazing job and I'd recommend her to anyone, but I'm was so disappointed today because I called the salon about 2 hrs prior to my scheduled color (or so I'd thought) and the dummy at the front desk who I'd booked the appointment through over the phone, but also confirmed with him in person when I was down there, never wrote me in the books. This is my second scheduling mix-up here so I am not sure I'm going back. Again-great cut and color, but they need a better scheduling software or something!!

An exceptional stylist

I just moved here from the east coast in July, and looked hard for a recommended stylist. Ja'Nien Sisk's name came up 3 times, so I had to try her. I can't tell you how pleased I was with my very first haircut. I have found that many stylists are very sloppy with men's cuts. Ja'Nien gave me the best precision cut I have ever had. She was on time, very professional and truely listened to me. I have been back twice and when I saw this site I just had to give my ups to a great stylist and a very nice salon. The price is well worth it.

Best extensions ever and amazing salon!

After meeting with virtually every hair extension artist in Portland, I met up with Andrea and I am so glad! She is amazing. Very creative. Professional. Interesting. And, most importantly, she cares about what I look like; wanted me to look my best--not like some other stylists who make it all about them. Not only did she make me look amazing (I've had such a great summer with beautiful hair!) she gave me her contact numbers so I could call her with questions and come in and see her (free of charge) if I had any issues (I haven't) -- she's just terrific. If you are thinking of getting extensions she's the person in Portland to see. The other thing, after sitting for over 5 hours at the salon while getting my extensions I can tell you that the there is great talent in this salon. I saw many patrons come in looking like ordinary people and every person left looking amazing. And the receptionist is just great, friendly, knowledgable, helpful .... I highly recommend this salon (any stylist) and especially Andrea for extensions. It's a must try!

Jasmine is the best!

I have been going to Jasmine for over 10 years. She has always done the best job and I have never been unhappy with her work. She always takes the time to find out what I want and will advise me against making bad choices. I always look great when I leave and would highly recommend her to everyone.
