Corporate. Unimaginative.

Dime a dozen, and the food tastes like it. How do you cook the same dish at hundreds of locations across America and allow it to have any character? The decor is tacky, and over the top. Granted, some of the food does taste good--just as a MacDonald's quarter-pounder can taste good. But with all the REALLY good, authentic Chinese restaurants in Portland, why settle?
This gussied-up chain bustles with singles and families craving Chinese food favorites.

In Short
Towering twin stallions and carved wood screens add majesty and mystery to this stylish restaurant, where well-dressed patrons sip martinis at the bar and families with children feast around large tables or in spacious booths. The menu gives Chinese classics a contemporary tweak; dishes are artfully presented, with many sauces made tableside by servers. Signature plates include diced chicken wrapped in cool lettuce leaves, orange-peel beef with chili peppers, and wok-fried scallops with lemon sauce.

Last night was horrible. We arrived for dinner and found the restaurant half empty. There was a large party that consisted of five tables pushed together and three rounds. Where did we get seated? Right next to the party. We could have been seated anywhere else in the restaurant, but no. We couldn't even hear each other talk. We ordered the lettuce wraps to start, of course. When those came out we ordered our entrees. So there we are, about half way done with our lettuce wraps and out come the entrees! Why do they always insist on doing this here? Are the servers serving skills that retarded? Entrees get cold. Entrees should be served after the appetizers have been consumed. I don't get why this establishment insists on making you feel rushed. They weren't even busy. It's not like they needed us to eat fast so they could seat someone else at our table. Anyway, I've always meant to write a review concerning the early entrees. I haven't. When they sat us next to the party last night I decided to finally write this. The food is pretty good. I do like it. The servers are usually a lot of fun. It just doesn't seem like the management manages the flow of guests or food very well.
- Pros: Usually friendly servers.
- Cons: Usually not bright servers.
What were they thinkin'?

My friends and I went out the other night, there was about four of us. We started with dinner at pf changs, let me tell you I had a great time! Our server Bear was outstanding! He definitely made our dinner experience memorable. He was attentive and made great reccomendations, he got us started on some awesome appetizers and great specialty cocktails. The food is great, the service was phenomenal!
It's just as important to fix it when it isn't perfect

We had a birthday lunch here today and the wait person was mediocre -- forgetting the birthday, clanging the dishes on and off the table, bumping into people, and leaning over them: one of our party had this person's armpit in her face through 1/3 of the meal! -- the food was excellent and we all just felt that the wait person really needed someone to give him some feedback and a little training. When the manager was informed, she was immediately and generously responsive. What could have left us with an unhappy feeling turned into good feelings because we all felt that they had done the right thing.
Wonderful!

When we are in the mood for Chinese food this is where we go! The chicken lettuce wraps are a must to start off the meal and we almost always get the garlic noodles. They have a great selection of vegetarian dishes also which is great when dining with friends or a group of people. The servers have always been very nice and helpful and because of them we have tried a few dishes we might not have otherwise.

Had never been here before our friends took us before a Pink Martini concert. Really good food (loved the ground meat in cabbage roll) but it is a little pricey. Probably should leave the kids at home for this one. A good evening for the mister and missus. Romantic place since it's kinda dark. Very cool though!

I went to the Hillsboro Branch of P.F. Chang's expecting somewhat authentic Chinese cuisene. Unfortunately this was not the case. First off, we had to wait more than an hour for a table in the overly crowded, dark atmosphere. Once we were seated we were unable to enjoy ourselves as the heavy rock music was way too loud. Already disappointed with our wait, we ordered tea and our entrees. The tea was not all that. It was just the same old Lipton tea bags we drink everyday priced at double what it should be. After another long wait we got soup which was prepared ahead of time. The entrees were the biggest dissapointment. We asked not to have salt in our entree but of course, since everthing was pre-made, our order was not considered. Priced at over $10.50 each, they were small portions comparable to what I get at the neighborhood take-out place for $7-$8.
If you want give your family a nice restaurant experience, do NOT go to PF Chang's. Everything about it from it's tasteless food to booming rock music was completely forgettable.
I'd rather give business to the take-out place. You don't have to wait, the prices are low, and the portions are great.
- Pros: Good service (waiters)
- Cons: Long wait, Very loud music, poor food quality
Not just chinesse food

Im pickie when it comes to Chinesse food. But P.F. Changs blew my mind. They service in a Family setting with big portions. The Chicken Lettuces wrap is to Die for. And the service is good as well.
..... I Highly recommend reserveration and there is always a wait. and Hour or longer so i suggest you get there early.
Great food
- Pros: Great Service
- Cons: The wait

Panda Express food at Sungari prices. The only thing it has going for it above Panda Express is a more hip and trendy atmosphere, but it's certainly not worth the extra money. If you want good Chinese food go somewhere else.
- Pros: Decent trendy atmosphere
- Cons: Not very good food
