BEST pasteries in Portland
by rcohan at Citysearch
This is diffenitely a fave of mine on a sunday morning! The pasteries are like nothing else I have had before! Better get there early, it gets busy fast!
- Pros: Best pasteries anywhere!
- Cons: no seating, you will be standing there for 15 min with your plate in hand waiting to jump on someones table.
Excellent Lattes and Great Breakfast!
by kingjosh at Citysearch
On the way to work this morning I dropped into St Honore for a white mocha and breakfast sandwich. The white mocha was great but could've been stirred a little more. The sandwich was awesome, portobello mushrooms, egg, cheeses, crossiant . . . delectable. I was in and out in under six minutes and the staff were very friendly and high class. The bakery was very busy and the fresh bread looked great. I'll have to go back and get some of the bread soon!
- Pros: Great Pastries, Great Coffee
- Cons: Parking
Great Buzz.good pastries

First and foremost, St. Honere has a great buzz. You pick up on the activity and ambience before you even walk into the boulangerie. In the summertime, the streetside outdoor tables are filled with all manner of people. The open window and door add to the ambience. The pastries are reasonably priced. They are well prepared and tasty (butter is NOT spared in their recipes!). Best of all is just to sit there and sip a cafe au lait, savor a flakey croissant , read your newspaper and just enjoy the beehive of activity in the comfortable NW locale.
- Pros: Ambience, Pastries,Price
- Cons: Can be difficult to find a table at times
Authentic French bakery
by svpdx at Citysearch
Delicious breads, tasty sandwiches and delectable pastries makes this my favorite bakery in town. Also, all of their employees speak English with a french accent which makes the atmosphere quite authentic. If you go during lunch time it may be difficult to find somewhere to sit, so it's best to go before or after the lunch rush.
- Pros: breads, pastries, sandwiches, salads, ambience
- Cons: a bit pricey, parking
Master baker and French native Dominique Geulin brings authentic French pastries to the Northwest neighborhood.

This rustic, light-filled bakery takes its name from the patron saint of bakers, and rightly so. Inside, baskets of fresh-from-the-oven breads and a pastry case brimming with sweets please the baking gods, and offer Portlanders a taste of authentic Paris in downtown Portland. At the dining room's long communal table, muddy athletes--fresh from a jog in nearby Forest Park--savor forkfuls of quiche Lorraine alongside mop-headed tots covered in bits of pain au chocolate. For afternoon patrons, there are composed salads, provincial panini, seasonal vegetable soups and a tarte au citron to cap off the finest Parisian meal.
Lots of love

The almond croissant is a rockstar. I *love* it. Ooh, and the brie sandwiches! Granted, they're a little pricey. Most of the recipes are the owner's own, though, so it's all quite unique. Service is do-it-yourself here. You order and pick up your food at the counter and buss your own table. By the way, I don't know what the person a few reviews below is talking about... they don't even serve cakes!
Incroyable!!!

This Bakery is a majestic and amazing place to eat at... as you first walk through the door you notice the wonderfully fluffy yet crisp baguettes and the splendid mouth watering croisantes just waiting to be accepted into eager mouths. The baker is baking and you feel a sudden pull towards the mysterious ways he cooks the bread SO perfectly... as if you and the baker are one, making beautiful masterpieces of food in such a way that makes the heavens cry, because just one bite of this deliceous food can make the strongest man break down... I highly recommend visiting this mysteriously godlike bakery for all your satisfying needs.

Snotty service w/out basic knowledge of products, over-baked and over-priced items. Spare yourself. Grand Central is much better.
amazing!

I've been looking for an authentic French Bakery and I believe I have found it! Just walking through the door you can tell you've made the right decision. The aroma of fresh baked bread, eggs, vanilla, and flour mixing into some amazing concotion, and the robust coffee almost put you in a trance. As I enjoyed the best cup of coffee I'd had in months and tried to slowly (but almost ate in mere moments!) savor my almond crossiant I couldn't help but stare at all of the food the other patrons were enjoying! I could have stayed there for hours nibbling on everything they have to offer.
