Best thai in Beaverton!. The food is consistently great, the service rocks & I love their wine list.
See all the BAD reviews, below.
I've never given a restaurant a zero, but Typhoon in Beaverton deserves that rating tonight. Only, stupid CitySerach requires at least 1
star. LAME.
Even regulars, sitting next to us at the bar, were floored.
See all comments below that mention "good food, TERRIBLE service."

Good Food Can't Make Up For Horrible Service. The food at Typhoon! is very good, however, the service is unfailing terrible! We've given them numerous chances figuring it was a one-off bad night, but that has not been the case. You have to practically beg the wait staff to serve you water along with your meal. Alcholic beverage orders are consistently brought late to the meal, appetizers take forever to arrive and then the main courses are generally brought almost immediately. The last time we were there (a couple of weeks ago) we were not even offered a dessert menu or coffee. We had also let the wait staff know that night that we were there for a special occassion and I believe they went out of their way to have even worse service than usual. In spite of their good food, the service is so horrible that we will not be returning again. View Less … View More
Great Happy Hour!. My bf and I often go to Typhoon for their happy hour menu. Everything we have tried has been quite tasty. The drunken noodles are the best, and their peanut satay is pretty darn good, too. The atmosphere is nice, and the place is beautifully decorated. It seems like the same bartender is working everytime that we go, and he is great. I wish I knew his name! He's always very gracious and good at refilling drinks when necessary. Which is good, because those drunken noodles are pretty spicy! Make sure to ask them to make them mild for you, if you don't like real spicy. We go there every few weeks, and have yet to have a bad experience. Check it out sometime! View Less … View More
Think Twice. We just came back from Typhoon, where we picked up our takeout pad thai, green curry, and red curry. To our surprise and disappointment we opened the boxes and found small portions--tiny when compared to the $36 we paid. Good food, small portions, overpriced. View Less … View More
If the service were as good as the food.... We have made multiple visits to this restaurant and really like the food, which is most important. However, our last two visits we have had the same server and the same miserable service. When we sit down we feel like an after-thought. She'll come by whenever she happens to find the time, pays no attention to our empty wine glasses, forgets to bring out portions of our order and the accompaniments and genererally shows no concern for her patrons. So we love the food, but why go somewhere that you don't feel welcome! Furthermore, when we left the restaurant one of the other servers had a basket of fried food sitting on the hostess station shoving her face with food while carrying on a conversation with the hostess. Classy way to greet patrons for sure. She didn't even ask us if we wanted a chunk of fried goodness. Show some manners at least. View Less … View More
overpriced and corporate feel, so-so food. Wouldn't go back, food was only so-so and the price tag would have been okay for a great meal, but it left a lot to be desired. Very corporate feeling to the ambiance, they tried too hard to be "authentic" and it just feels fake. View Less … View More
Great Ambience in Beaverton!. I am not a fan of thai food, and typhoon did not change my mind. however, the members of my party who do like thai food tell me that typhoon serves a good curry - JT had the green curry with chicken, which was $11, and he devoured the entire thing, including the rice that we ordered. shmackyrelish had some eggplant dish with shrimp, and she liked that. i had the halibut, which came served with the best presentation i have ever gotten - it was like a piece of artwork on my plate. and not too bad tasting, to this non-thai fan. i wouldn't order it again - it was $22 for what was essentially pretty fish. we also ordered the calamari and the potstickers - the menu called them a delicate thai version, but that turned out to just mean "smaller than usual". however, both appetizers were very tasty - the calamari came dipped in a light tempura batter which was just a tad peppery for my tastes, but still palatable. we even ordered dessert - shmack had a mango/rasberry cheesecake, and she liked some of it. our total bill came to almost $100, so it's very pricey for my wallet. good date spot. we saw some families with kids, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a night out with the babies. Nouveau Thai in The Round.
Elegant interior w/ private feel, even though it was a large area. Bar could get loud. Formal but casual enough for families. We were there
on a Thursday evening about 7pm.
Nouveau Thai cuisine, not traditional, but also not overly sweet like a lot of supposed traditional. I had the eggplant w/ shrimp. I also had the pumpkin soup (w/ cocnut, ginger and cilantro pesto) YUM. It was very savory, and that savory flavor was a thread throughout the items I ordered. We also had the tempura batter fried calamari, and potstickers. All very tasty. Calamari was tender. The portions were generous for nouveau. Carnivorous_pretzel had the battered & fried halibut, and J had the green curry chicken. Everyone was satisfied. For dessert I had the raspberry and mango cheesecake. It was infused with these fruits with a squirt of raspberry syrup. It was creamy and tasty. The crust was thick, and like dry poundcake. I didn't like that part. I also had the young cocnut juice as my drink. It was good!
Service was attentive. We were served by the bartender. He was a little short on answers to detailed questions regarding specific menu items, but offered good service, especially considering we were pretty demanding by the nature of our moods, and picky flavor requirements..

very gracious & fast service, wonderful food. I am not big on Thai food, but Typhoon really helped open me up to it by doing such a wonder job o nthe food and having excellent wait staff and hosts. i am always impressed with how nice everyone is. The various dishes I have fried, including the chicken pad thai, crab pad thai and green beans with chicken are awaesome. The fruity and traditional Thai ice teas are very uniquie- frothy and delicious. The atmosphere is warm modern meets asian, with beautifully flowing sheers fabric panels thru ut the restaurant.
