Amazing studio-has changed my life!

by pfdf

I really love reform! All of the teachers are very experienced and able to work with my hip replacement (one year ago) while still challenging me. I would have never expected to have been able to reach this fitness level again after my surgery. I am not only stronger and more flexible, but find that I can participate in activities like cycling and hiking that were previously prohibited because of my hip problems.

I strongly recommend Reform, especially as a well established studio with excellent well trained teachers. Professional and clean-I love Reform!

  • Pros: on street parking, free mat classes, scheduling options
  • Cons: not open Sundays

Best investment

by jesswy5

I have always wanted to try Pilates in a studio with machines, so about 6 months ago I reviewed different studios on City Search and decided to give Reform Pilates a try. My body has changed, I've become motivated to do more cardio (because I feel so good), I have gained knowledge, am more aware of my posture and am experiencing less lower back pain. The staff is so competent and caring. The facility is clean and well organized, east street parking. Well worth your time and money. I look forward to my session every week and am very excited when I can find time to attend a mat class!

  • Pros: Staff, facility
  • Cons: not enough evening mat classes

My life/ body has never been the same!

by jcroz

I've been doing Pilates matwork using the videos available on the market for a year. It has made a marked difference in my appearance and my strength. I knew that 'real' Pilates involved equipment, but knew of nowhere nearby that had the equipment or a trainer. Searching Google one day I saw Reform Pilates & Movement Studio right here in Portland, and immediately called. What an AMAZING difference I have already seen within and without. Everything you may have read about Pilates is true, and Jessica is the absolute BEST. She's extremely organized in her approach, and very knowlegeable about the discipline. She's her own best advertisement. I feel that having my own Pilates trainer is very decadent, but Im worth it! I look forward to every class knowing Ill learn something new and leave feeling like my body just got tweaked, and that feels great!

  • Pros: Great location, best staff
  • Cons: Not open 24 hours

the Gyro rocks!!

by forgo

I have been doing Pilates for years and decided to try something new on a whim. I have been doing Gyrotonic now for 3 months and am amazed at the results. That tight part of my back-right in my mid-back-where you can't reach to itch?? Well that tightness and discomfort is completely gone. I feel so good and stretched out after Gyro. I also feel like I get a great workout that can somewhat leave me sore for days when we are targeting specific areas that need attention like the outside of my legs. The abodominal exercises are the deepest I have ever experienced and my abs are so suprisingly toned-and that is with going 2x a week. I still do my Pilates but I have to admit that Gyro is my new love and I never would have believed that I could have dropped a pant size just from adding this to my regimine. You have got to try it=it definately takes a few times to get used to because it is such a different way to move!

  • Pros: aweome rates and availability. Very proessional. Beautiful space and anemnities
  • Cons: no Sunday sessions

Head and Shoulders above the rest!

by pdxitalian

After visiting 3 other studios in town, gotta tell ya that this place has won me over. I was a bit apprehensive on trying Pilates in the first place but they made me feel very confortable and provided a ton of personal guidance to ensure I was practicing everything correctly. Although curiousity got the cat here so I tried a few other studios in town, I learned my lesson - none compare to Reform. Instructors are great, studio is cool, and equipment is top notch.

  • Pros: Cool area of town also!

Best instruction anywhere!!!

by pmorre

This studio definitely has it together. I started with lower back pain, weak abs, and with 15 more pounds to loose. In three months of going twice weekly, I lost the weight, have stronger abs than ever, and no more back pain! i have learned a different way to move and so my whole life has been affected. I have recently been able to do what I thought I would never be able to do again--I am running, gardening, and able to be in an airplane with no pain.Cheers to the staff at reform Pilates- each instructor is equally qualified and unique so my body and mind stay engaged and challenged. Thanks to the crew at reform, I have my younger body back and even better than ever!

  • Pros: personalized instruction, nice space, lots of equipment
  • Cons: none!!

Best pilates studio in Portland!

by fkrippner

As a massage therapist, it is important to me that my pilates instructor is highly educated about the body, and can explain exercises to me and I can depend on to bring my body back into balance without injury. All of the teachers at Reform Pilates are excellent.

They take a lot of care with the studio. It is always clean and the equipment is well-maintained.

My husband and I have experienced incredible changes in the way we look and feel, and are able to move more easily and have a lot more stamina.

The best thing about Reform Pilates is that I don't feel any ego there. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and very encouraging.

I HIGHLY recommend Reform Pilates. It is definitely the place to go if you are thinking about taking up pilates, or looking for something to get you in shape.

  • Pros: Excellent teachers, Friendly environment, Package discounts
  • Cons: NONE!

i love pilates

by smo73

great and consistent-the best part at reform is mat classes are included with your sessions! So with my one private, I end up being able to get 4 sessions a week with my mat classes. Really fun and low key, Reform helped me get back in shape post baby. I am always challenged and am always learning something new.

  • Pros: free mat classes, inexpensive , east side!!
