Try the Old Fashioned
by brickcity
you want to have a stiff drink and relax a little. no gimmicks used to try to get you in, no super loud annoying underground indie crap that people only listen to because they think its cool to listen to music playing, no riff raff. good place to hang. thanks for an awesome burger and ceasar salad. mixed in a few old fashioneds and capped the night off with the butt kickin chicken wings.
- Pros: Great drinks, good food too!!
- Cons: cant think of one
Oh Imbibe how we thank you!
by Gemstone
My friends and I love hawthorne; we also love a chill venue where we can enjoy some yummy food and a stiff drink. After spending a few hours at Imbibe on sunday night we all concluded that it is exactly what we were looking for. The service was professional (not to mention the total hunks working there..meow) drinks were hand-made with precision and care, and the food was diverse and flavorful. The ambiance was low lit, comfy, and fun! Plus great music that made us feel that we had slipped into our own time. I highly recommend Imbibe, the only thing left to loose would be yourself.
- Pros: happy hour, great drinks!
- Cons: on-street parking
What happened?

I used to like coming to Imbibe for fun music and the food was decent. Went last week for happy hour, and left feeling really disappointed. Sweet potato fries were undercooked, and didn't even taste like sweet potatoes. Also ordered the Hummus plate, the carrots and cucumbers looked at least a day old. Unfortunately, I don't think I will be going back for awhile. Hope the next time is better.
- Pros: Drinks, unique interior
- Cons: food
Amazing Happy Hour
by brushfire0
I appreciate a good cocktail, but to me a good bar is equal to it's happy hour menu.
Which Imbibe has in droves!
I went with two friends and we shared the food we ordered, all of it off the happy hour menu. One of my friends is a calamari connoisseur and says it was the best he'd ever had. The tomatoes were stuffed with cheese, artichokes and drizzled with aged balsamic, it was fantastic.
The little hamburgers were just ok, of the three the blue cheese one was probably best.
And the salmon skewers were a little 'fishy' tasting for me.
But you don't know until you try right? And it was all very decently priced.
- Pros: Stuffed Tomatoes
- Cons: Severe decor, where's the bathroom?
Slow service, messed up orders
by spikeeasy
Went to Imbibe last Sunday with friends. Slow service to begin with. It's like nobody works here (maybe a Sunday thing).
Waited ages for food. Literally 2 minutes before everyone else's food arrived I'm informed they're out of garden burgers! I'm sitting there with no food. My friend ordered sweet potato fires, got regular. Second go around for me I order Mac and Cheese and fries. The Mac and Cheese was undercooked when it came (i guess no surprise as they must have hurried it) and no fries at all for me.
This performance would have merited one star only but the waiter was apologetic and comp'd my part of the meal.
We used to come here quite regularly but the quality of food and service has become so poor I doubt we'll bother again.
great dinner
by Juliannaip
I went after a friend told me about their new menu, the dinner I had there was awesome. I got the halibut with saffron cream sauce and my boyfriend had a burger with sweet potato fries and both left us very satisfied. Even though we were stuffed as an introduction to the new menu the chef came out and checked on us with a complimentary dessert which was a chocolate Guinness stout cake YUM. She said she just started and we chatted for a second, and mentioned that she was using local and organic produce and vendors which is a big plus in my book.
- Pros: great food, service
- Cons: when theres live music its loud

After reading the terrible food reviews, my partner and I decided to fill up on hotlips pizza before catching the meiko show.

The bar here is great..good drinks and happy hour..dinner is okay for now but I was told they just hired a new chef(a girl too which rocks!) and she is putting together a good new menu for lunch and dinner that sounds really great! Apparently, it will be in effect late this month or early next month and I am looking forward to new food to go with the already good drinks
- Pros: great drinks and good happpy hour
- Cons: parking, but street usually has some
Imbibe
by itinerantwoman
the drinks are stiff at Imbibe, but the food is awful. no, it's really awful: freezer burnt, reheated and dried out. even the fries were inedible. order happy hour drinks, but pass on the bar menu.
- Pros: The drinks are reasonable
- Cons: The food is awful
LEARN TO COUNT

Learn to count!!!!
Beware the bartender likes to add drinks you never ordered onto your tab. I won?t be going back there. He tried claiming I didn?t know how much I was drinking. I know for a fact I had 3 drinks with a glass of water in between. I did have to ask for water several times. They won?t be getting my business again. Lot of great bars in PDX that are honest.
