This review applies to the new Sherwood location. Phoned Massage Envy on recomendation from a client, who stated they were not the best but passable. This was the worse massage I have ever had, and I have had plenty. It started with my massage therapist who looked scruffy and went downhill from there. He asked what my trouble spots were and I informed him. He first left me laying in the room for a good 7 minutes waiting. Then he started by jabbing an elbow in my back with too much pressure, ouch! Then he jabbed me in the kidneys too forcefully. I told him he was going too hard, which he never asked about. He then worked on my neck, stretching in a painful manuever. He worked on my feet after that, which most nail techs give a way better massage than he did. He was done after that, no leg, arm or head massage. He told me I was done and how to stretch, oh brother! By the way he smelled like smoke, gross! I told them how lousy my experience was and they offered another massage for $39.00 ! Are you kidding me! I will never go back to McMassage Envy, yew!!!
Pros: No pros!
Cons: Gross massage therapist!

This is a thank you note to my Massage Envy friends. Thank you for providing a wonderful atmosphere with a friendly staff. Thank you for making my life easier, easing the stress loads in my life. You make it something I can afford and convenient. This is the best concept to come along since In n Out Burgers. (I love burgers, and if you haven't visited one in CA, AZ or NV, you must!). But I digress. The staff at Massage Envy takes care of me. They are so friendly and accomodating. I have been getting massages there for a few years. I have my favorite therapists, but if they are not available on short notice they have many others that I can get in to see on short notice. And now with more clinics open, if I can't get in the same day I can call one of the others and get in there. And, when I travel to Seattle (or wherever) I can get my $39 massage there! What a concept! Thank you Massage Envy....you're THE BEST!
Pros: Price, quality, friendliness, convenience, parking
Cons: Haven't found one yet

All I can say is that the massages are great, the customer service is great, the affordable price is great, and the atmosphere is great. What more can you ask for? I am a true believer in Massage Envy and will not go anywhere else for my massage needs.
Pros: everything

I had read some of the negative reviews on Massage Envy- Cedar hills, and felt inclined to tell people the truth about Massage Envy. Maybe the people writing the negative reviews were having a bad day and angry about something else but their comments are way off base! I have been going to Massage Envy -Cedar Hills for about 2 years now and have had nothing but excellent massages and excellent customer service. I commend the front desk staff for all their hard work. I usually go in there during the weekends when they seem very busy, and I always am immediately acknowledged with a big smile and "hello". Most of the time they even remember my name and tell me I'm checked in. Makes me feel like I'm "Norm" from "Cheers" but I love it! Anyway...anyone who has not tried out Massage Envy, you are missing out BIG TIME!
Pros: friendly staff, experienced massage therapists, affordability.
Cons: NONE!

Making an appointment here is like making an appointment at an HMO. The receptionist, Mia (pronounced Meeya), was incompetent (had difficulty reading the therapist's schedules and finding my name, even though I have been going there for over 1 1/2 years) and when I asked if she was new, she responded in a snotty and defensive tone as if I was at fault. If you call there and get her on the phone, ask for someone else. I've noticed that the front office staff is getting worse. I only continue to go because of Trisha, who is a fantastic deep tissue massage therapist. If she leaves, so will I, because the rest are pretty mediocre and I don't need to pay for attitude from the receptionists.

I had a really bad experience with massage envy from the get go. First they had me sign up to draft my account and told me it was a month to month contract. Once I realized the massage therapists were not very good and very unprofessional I went to cancel and found out I had signed a year contract (my bad I should have read the contract). I tollerated a years worth of bad massages and then when I cancelled they continued to draft my account. I took a great deal of time and effort to get them to stop and refund my money. Then they refused to honor the massages I had paid for but not used yet. This is a very shady company to do business with and sadly they don even give good massages! You don't go to Mcdonald's to get a great meal so don't go to Massage Envy to get a great massage!
Pros: None
Cons: Dishonest, unprofessional, poor massage

So far, I have had 2 appointments at this particular establishment. Both therapists I had were new, graduated from massage school within the last year. The clinic appeared clean and simple. The quality of massage was so-so, even though I was very clear as to what I expected. I don't think I am cheap, but seriously did not enjoy the constant reminders to tip. I would advise Massage Envy to train their front desk staff to be pleasant and polite regardless of the amount of the tip. Please don't pressure people to do this. I would rather have it incorporated into the price rather than pressured to give a set amount for a tip, just because I don't like being pressured. Other than my comment about the 3 tipping guideline signs per room and 2 at the front desk, the place seemed ok.
Pros: Number of available appts., convenient locations
Cons: After 1 visit, you will memorize the tipping guidelines.

My wife had told me about how great Massage Envy was and insisted I try them out so that we could join the membership together. I was a little hesitant because I can be very particuliar when it comes to massage. I was afraid that it was going to be more of a clinic type atmosphere rather than a relaxing spa which I prefer. I am also very picky when it comes to therapists. I have been getting massages for years and am very particuliar. I walked in very surprised to find such a relaxing ambience with music playing and candles lit. When I walked in, the receptionist greeted me with a huge smile and welcomed me to Massage Envy. As I sat waiting for my massage, the receptionist brought me green tea to sip while I ate chocolates that they had in bowls. As I waited for my therapist, the receptionist informed me about their wellness program. I was so surprised at what a great deal it was but was a little skeptical since I hadn't had my massage yet. Needless to say, it was the BEST massage that I have ever had. My therapist was not only extremely knowledgeable about massage but honestly concerned with my needs. I have had upper back problems for years, and never felt relief until now. The most surprising thing was after the massage, rather than quickly sending me on my way, she explained to me some stretches that I should do to help relieve some of the strain in my back. I was so pleased with my experience at Massage Envy that I signed up myself and my wife for the membership. My wife was right again. (She made sure I mentioned that!)
Pros: customer service, therapist, atmosphere, parking
Cons: none

This establishment was wonderful! The staff up front catered to my every need. The hot tea and chocolates that were offered before my massage were very welcoming and the candle lit room that they call the "Quiet Room " was so peaceful to sit in after my massage. The concept of a membership at a massage clinic was explained to my thoroughly and I will definetly be back again! My massage therapist listened to my needs and requests and seemed very knowledgable when it came to relieving my stress. I would reccommend trying this place out to everyone I know! Thank you, One satisfied customer
Pros: Easy to get an appointment, relaxing and friendly enviroment, great massage therapists!
Cons: Once you have experienced Massage Envy you will want to go back every day!

They give a good price for the first time visitor, but unfortunately, you get what you pay for. The therapist I had was nice, but inexperienced, I could never really relax because the touch and the pressure was all over the place. Sometimes painfully hard, sometimes inconsequentially light. The office girl was kind of snotty. I won't go back. I do not recommend it.
Pros: parking, availability
Cons: customer service and inexperienced practitioner
