RUDE STAFF Bad Service

Called to sched an appointment, was spoken to extremely rude. My girl left the spa apparently, with good cause most likely, I asked how to get a hold of her, and they gave me snippy attitudes and wouldnt give me her number. Then tried to get me to go to someone new.

Rude Rude Rude, not going to keep people with their unprofessionalism.

I had to dig around and call other friends that go to her and find out where she went. I went to athena for other serivices previously and will NOT be going back. This was after i called multiple times and got the answering machine.

A Facial that Works

The only reason I can't give them 4 stars is because the front desk isn't quite where it needs to be in terms of consistency and quality. Otherwise, I love Athena ~ and especially Carol. About a year ago, I started having acne breakouts as if I was in high school (which I didn't even have in high school!). I tried everything: cleansers, o-t-c products, homeopathics, facials at other spas, even a trip to a dermatologist. Nothing helped and my acne got worse. I'm embarrassed by my own wedding pictures the places on my chin were so bad. June 1st, I took a spa day and had a facial with Carol. I've been back for another facial since then and my face is almost entirely clear again. Between her ministrations and the products she set me up with, I'm once again getting compliments on my skin and am no longer embarrassed when someone wants to take a picture!

• Pros: Carol, atmosphere in back
• Cons: not the greatest communication among staff

Won't go back

I had an eyebrow wax- it was AWFUL. The gal burnt me and then spilled wax in my hair and on my shirt. The shirt was ruined, as I couldn't find a way to get the wax stain off of it. When I called to ask what they would recommend to remove the stain, they didn't care, and acted as if it was my fault. It is a bummer their customer service was so bad, as the location is so great for me!

Long time Customer

I have been a customer of Athena Day Spa for over a year. I have found a hidden diamond in Claire the aesthetician there. She has consistently given outstanding service and has always gone above and beyond in her care. I am Active duty Military, so when I was looking for an aesthetician to really turn my face around - she did just that. She is very pleasant, polite, caring, patient and she gives the most AMAZING reiki facial massages. She truly understands the science behind all of her techniques and is focused on overall wellness and healing. She uses all natural products which I was afraid wouldnt make a dent on my face at first, but now I get compliments on my radiant and clear skin and I use those products at home! Please visit Claire - you will NOT regret it.

Take Your Face to Athena

My rating is based on the spa service I use the most; the lovely, peaceful ambience, and the professionalism of the staff. I get a friendly call every month reminding me of my appointment, and they are so accomodating if I need to reschedule.

I go to Claire, the most wonderful esthetician ever, for monthly facial treatments. Claire is an extremely knowledgeable professional and knows just what to do for my 60+ yr old grandma face. She is a lovely, kind, nurturing person whom I look forward to seeing every month.

She has given me a number of different types of treatments, depending on what she feels my skin needs at that particular time. Claire offers wonderful advice and suggestions for facial care outside the spa setting.

Claire offers others services as well. These include Reiki, laser light therapy, and waxing, all of which I have experienced, and would recommend without hesitation.

Even if you have perfect skin, pamper yourself with a relaxing, pampering facial with Claire at Athena Day Spa.

• Pros: Ample parking; centrally located close to shopping, banking, public transportation; lovely ambience; attentive staff
• Cons: none come to mind

Absolutely Amazing

My wife and I spent a day at Athena in Vancouver (Hazel Dell). "Wow" what an absolutely amazing experience. First of all the staff was so accommodating. Pampering us with beverage and snacks while we waited in their tranquility room. We were then taken away to a massage room that was set up with massage tables side by side where my wife and I relaxed in each others company while receiving very professional and relaxing massages. My wife was then pampered to other treatments that she said was "awesome" while I was able to get a hair cut and something that I normally do not do, "manicure and pedicure". I will definitely do it again. In closing our day at Athena was a great experience, we highly recommend Athena Day Spa to anyone wanting to get pampered and treated like a king and queen.

WONDERFUL customer service and a VERY INVITING staff

I was so very please with my spa day here at Athena Day Spa. As a regular "Spa Goer" I have seen my share of spa and I absolutly have made this one a favorite of mine! You walk in to an inviting lobby full of happy voices and pleasent smiles. Relaxing music hangs in the air as you are walked back to a beautiful, candle lit hallway. The massage robe they supply you are so lush and and comfy as you settle in to a big couch and enjoy snacks and tea in the tranquility room. What a perfect name for it too! It was very tranquil. I was the greeted by my massage therapist, who then guided me to such a soft and relaxing room. The massage was 90 minutes of pure bliss and the aromatherapy is a "Must Have". Be sure to add that to any massage you get here, it is icing on the cake! After the massage I recieved a Vital Lifting Facial. WOW! Thats all I can say. To end my stay for the day at Athena's I had the pleasure of getting a CHOCOLATE MANICURE AND PEDICURE. It was so dee-lish! and not to mention clean and a grade A job! All i can say is THANK YOU ATHENA. Your staff made my day there wonderful and I will be back very soon. I have told all my friends about Athena and i only though it would be right to post to let every on else know ... It is a wonderful spa!

Horrible Experience! Avoid this place at all cost!

This experience was not good and I do not recommend Athena Day Spa.

I bought a really nice package for my girlfriend that was supposed to be a relaxing and pampering experience for her birthday. It was supposed to be hour massage, hour pedicure, hour manicure and hour facial, but we got just the opposite.

After she checked in she had to wait for 45 minutes for her first appointment which was supposed to be an hour but only lasted 35 minutes. While waiting other clients there were wondering how come she's still waiting because they were already done with their services and she was still waiting in the room.

More waiting occurred in between sessions and only thing that we actually got an hour service was a massage.

Pedicure wasn't even done that well compared to many different places she has gone before. After I called the management I was told "Those Asian places use an illegal tool in the United States that gets everything off." What an awful thing to say and to categorize people in such a way.

To top it off, they showed her the bill... and if I wanted to her to know how much it cost, I would've given her cash in hand to pay for it.

I explained to the management that I would like a refund for bad service and all waiting time, but I am willing to pay for a hour massage since that was done for the whole hour.

Even though I explained that somebody might be uncomfortable coming back to the same place with bad experience and where they have complained now, only thing they still offered is a massage at the spa.

I run my own business and know the value of clients and the importance of doing the right thing, which clearly wasn't the case here.

I would NOT recommend Athena Day Spa due to their lack of customer service and their experience.

• Cons: Waited 45 minutes to get in, supposed to be hour service only got 30-35 min, bad management, no customer service commitment. Avoid Athena Spa!
