We were just visiting from Seattle for a weekend getaway, and we asked our hotel to recommend a sushi restaurant. Our first impression of the place was that it was very pleasing, aesthetically. We were seated by the window and enjoyed the light quality of the late evening and the view. We were intially perturbed by the slow service, but once we tasted the food we forgot about all else. Both of us were stunned by how tender and perfectly flavorful the fish was (we had yellowfin, salmon, and smoked salmon nigiri). At first bite we just stared at each other in disbelief. The rolls were interesting, too. We had this one roll (can't remember the name) that had tempura shrimp in it and jalepenos on top. It was very unique and delicious. When we got there (maybe 6:30pm) the place was mostly empty, but by the time we left (8pm) the place had grown very loud and there wasn't an empty seat in the house. If you're looking for a quiet, romantic dinner...go at an earlier time or on a weekday maybe. The servers were very pleasant, I just wish that they'd staff a few more on a busy Friday night. Being from Seattle, we thought we'd had the best sushi...now we're on a quest to find a place this good in our city!
Pros: Amazing fish and rolls!!!
Cons: Slow, but pleasant, service! Loud at night.
