Clean, helpful and inexpensive!

by himbeer

I really do enjoy going here not only for the inexpensive tanning packages but also how helpful the employees and owner are. I found the perfect tanning package and it didn't cost me hundreds for a crappy bed like most places. So what if the owner has a particular style, its her business she can dress how she wants. She has always been respectful and helpful in front of her customers overhearing a little gossip does not a poor business woman make. It happens. The beds and complimentary towels have always been clean whenever I've gone. I have been a customer years and will continue to be so.

  • Pros: Great deals, inexpensive, clean
  • Cons: parking during busy times can be a pain

Rediculous

by cowgirl87

I have an inside scoop on this salon- The bulbs in the beds are never replaced and when they do replace them, they are "slightly used" bulbs. The "MANAGER/OWNER" (if you can call her that) is so consumed in her personal life that she never takes the time to really help out the salon. She talks about the customers AND her employees like they are a piece of trash, referring to them as the "b" word or they're stupid or dumb or whatever she feels like saying at the time. They're are multiple things in there that are against Oregon codes and she never takes the time to fix them because she claims shes broke (yet consistently goes out of town to go camping or on vacation). All in all, the girls that work there are sweet and considerate but the salon is trash. I feel bad for the customers that go there.

  • Pros: The Mystic tan rocks!

Best Mystic Ever.. Rock on!

by CherilynMonroe

Hello everyone!

In my spare time I moonlight as a mystery shopper in Portland, OR. and just recently moved into the Dunthorpe area, and live close by "Tantalizing Tans" I do not know anyone at the salon. It was not an assignment either. I do have qualification to read service, prices and people in general.

I thankfully stumbled upon "Tantalizing" last night. The salon had just closed for the evening, but had not yet locked their doors. Upon finding this out I Immediately apologized, and relayed I would return at a later date. The owner was very busy with paperwork etc. but took me in, and asked what she could do to help me out..I was immediately impressed.

I've been to the so-called popular local fast-tan tanning salons for Mystic, as well as the traditional methods. I am completely thrilled with the Mystic tan I received last night, the color is fantastic, the best I've ever received, so much color with no streaking, if you remember to take care of hands and feet..the owner insured I was completely taken care of by helping me out with the little tricks of her particular booth, explaining everything in detail for me. As a matter of fact as I was getting ready to walk out the door she pulled me in and made sure I rubbed around my fingers and toes, she even helped me do it, she was very kind.. So what if she looks a lil'like Amy Winehouse, I particularly think that's very cool..different strokes ya know.

This shop is not a run of the mill tanning salon, which gets you in and out as fast as they can. The priced packages are competitive, and the service is more personal..this is a great place for a Rock'n Roll lifestyle sort of clientele; casual, with a bit of trash/metal/punk but elegant and spacious, get in and out see ya later and looking hot sort of tanning salon.

This is a quick post, don't have much time to edit..but I want to give another review; a more objective perspective. No need to call The Better Business my dear.

  • Pros: elegant, funky cool
  • Cons: location sort of hidden, I like that though..I'm a celebrity wife

Terrible and Trashy.

by Disappointed666

I was definitely disappointed with this salon. The staff was pushy, not helpful, and unfriendly. The owner was a trashy and rude woman who dressed like a 16 year old rebellious 'harlot' (for the want of use of an inappropriate word). The beds were disgusting and unclean and the bulbs hadn't been replaced since Jesus walked the earth. I would NEVER recommend this salon or go to it again, for fear of contracting some horrible disease from the beds themselves. The staff, and owner, were pushy for sales beyond belief and would make others wait while they went over their over priced packages and tanning lotion prices even after you say you're not interested. This is BY FAR the worst tanning establishment I have gone to. I'm making a complaint with the Bureau of Better Business, and other regulatory entities that deal with health.

May they go out of 'Buzinezz!'

The name says it all. Trashy, trashy, trashy.

  • Pros: Tanning
  • Cons: Old bulbs, terrible service, owner terrible, bad hygiene, not recommended
