I am a very new beginner to skiing. With lack of knowledge on equipment, I needed some advice. I went to a few other stores around the Portland area and only one was fantastic! Al helped me out so much with all my equipment and suggestions. The deals on the stuff I ended up purchasing were amazing. On line I could not find any cheaper equipment, anywhere. So super friendly for any of your skiing needs. Absolutely no buyers remorse when I left his shop, only looking forward to going back for any and all of my skiing needs in the future!

Pros: Honesty, value, incredible customer service.

Cons: 0

Al was super helpful, and all the girls that work their really know their stuff. They all helped me find the best fit and styles. After I went to at least three other shops, I found the best selection and service. Finally a store for us ladies...

Pros: Selection, styles, service, locally owned

Cons: NONE....

I went looking for tennis gear, which they no longer carry, but ended up with some fantastic new running shoes that were recommended by very knowledgeable and friendly staff. I actually ended up with a great racket and tennis shoes that the owner had left over. Although I'm sure he wanted to clear out left-over stock, he was not pushy and I felt that he was really trying to meet my needs and find a product that I would truely enjoy rather than just push old stuff on me. He actually initially recommended me to several other shops first, and only dug out these remnants after I had been hanging around for awhile! I also found some really cute clothing, shoes, and accessories. Their ski gear also strikes a perfect balance between form and function-all at very reasonable prices. No snow-bunnies here, but stylish and sporty gear with function for real athletes in mind. Also very refreshing to find both knowedgeable and friendly staff that actually use the stuff, care about meeting their customer's needs, and have no attitude! All at a good price.

Varied selection of top quality sports apparel and equipment, with stylish women's wear (not just for the athletes among us!). Well-informed staff and owners; easy to find; outstanding customer service. Don't miss this new shop's offerings! Owners Sig and Al bring a new pearl to the Pearl!

Pros: Good value, Customer service, Knowledgeable staff

so happy that a hip and stylish boutique like Signal finally came to Portland. Sure there are many places to get women's sportswear in this city, but Signal truely has unique designers, gifts and gear tailored to one that appreciates fashion and function. everyone must check this store out!

Pros: friendly staff, easy to shop, great merchandise

Cons: too many good things , only 1 location

Signal Sports has the most amazing selection women-specific skis and apparel I have ever seen. Outdoing even REI, Signal Sports had all 3 of the brand new (as this year). top rated women-specific powder skis. And, never mind the overlap between REI & Signal Sports because for the skis they both carried, Signal started discounting theirs in early January and had them -- even the "hot" ones in short supply -- for 20% less. Nils, Obermeyer, Marker -- their selection of high fashion ski and snowboard wear is unmatched by even the fancy ski shops in Aspen. And if that wasn't enough, the salespeople and owners actually know the products, especially the equipment.

Pros: selection, uniqueness, women-specific

Cons: downtown hours, staff overload
