Relaxing, but could use more attending
by SEneighbor
This was my second visit to Loyly. The first visit was fantastic. Tonight, however, there were towels and empty teacups and magazines strewn all over the common area. During the more than 90 minutes I was there, no one came in to pick them up. Perhaps having a hamper and a place to put used cups would encourage the guests to pick up after themselves? or if guests are required to pick up, a polite suggestion to put their used items somewhere would be helpful... (but, while guests should be considerate of other guests by picking up their things, in a tipping environment, I would expect the attendant to keep it clean if they don't.) After awhile, I was the only person there. At about 8:30, the attendant checked the lockers and opened and slammed every one in a row, shattering the tranquility, then as I showered and got dressed she continued to drag bags of towels and do other end-of-day cleaning activities in the locker room which made me feel rushed after what would have otherwise been a very relaxing visit. Owners of Loyly, please suggest to your attendants to keep the common area picked up and not to start cleaning while guests are there. If you're open until 9pm, you should provide a relaxing experience until the last guest leaves.
- Pros: relaxing atmosphere
- Cons: messy common area, attendant began closing while I was there

first time at loyly, first time offering a review - i think this place is fantastic, with only one minor speed bump. it's very clean, friendly welcoming staff, love love love the spaciousness/design of it all. also appreciate the hauschka products, been a long-time fan of them so it was nice to see them.
so, the wee complaint - teeny towels. i can't be the only one who feels like this as i caught plenty of others struggling with them as they wandered around. would it be so un-scan to give the people a couple more inches? it would make the experience that much more comfortable.
still can't recommend it enough!

I've been here only twice and plan to return asap. I went during women only hours, and it was GREAT. Only $20 for 3 hours of sauna time is a deal. The staff was friendly, the place was very clean. A++
- Pros: relaxing welcoming atmosphere
- Cons: none!
Lovely Loyly!

Loyly is Lovely! Really refreshing to have a simple and elegant space(urban yet quiet) without clutter to relax in. Love the option of wine or tea as well as the various facial steams and massages avaiable. And I love that I dont have to bring my toiletries bag because they have absolutly everything you need.
Thanks Loyly...we need you in Portland!
- Pros: space, ammenities, price
- Cons: none

Deep Clean

I go at least twice a month to this sauna (which, I believe is the only one of its kind in Portland). I always feel like a million bucks when I'm done. For $20 you get three hours of completely free time -- to sit in the sauna or steam room, read magazines, and generally just lie around and relax.
I love Loyly and recommend it to all my friends. It's such a treat to have time to myself! Go on a women-only day and just hang out nekkid and relax in the beautiful surroundings ... a very organic, unusual experience that brings me back in touch with myself every time.
- Pros: beautiful facility, serene environment, comfortable and accepting
- Cons: if the front-desk employee decides to chatter, you will be able to hear her

soooo relaxing

Although I only make it once a month or so, this place is a treasure and I am so happy to have it in my neighborhood. I like its simplicity of theme, design, and offerings. Follow the traditional approach they have listed - its beneficial qualities are felt immediately. Upon leaving, I feel peaceful inside and glowing outside. Ahhhh...
- Pros: ambience, focus on health and detox
- Cons: recently raised rates
Best way to relax from daily stress!

I love the peaceful atmosphere at Loyly. I spend at least one night a week there with some of my girlfriends and it is always a joyous experience. I love the skin care products, the soothing teas, and the yummy miso. The facility itself is beautiful and Jessica the owner is an absolute gem. I never feel as beautiful as I do after an evening there. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
Where have you been all my life?

It's about time that Portland got a European-inspired spa like Loyly. Beautifully designed, peaceful and inviting, Loyly is the perfect place to relax and unwind. Plus, it's priced so reasonably that I can afford to treat myself to weekly visits. Loyly carries some delicious teas to enjoy while your'e steaming, and the owner told me she has expansion plans for a bar, where she will offer a broader beverage menu. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience at Loyly- we both loved the product line they carry, we had a lot of fun there, and we left smiling and feeling thoroughly rejuvenated. I love this place and would highly recommend it to all of my friends.
- Pros: beautiful atmosphere, reasonably priced, friendly and helpful service
- Cons: signage on building is small and difficult to see from street
