This place is excellent. I have gone to Tiga three times, always with the intention of grabbing a quick drink and saying high to a friend who lives in the neighborhood. Each time I ended up killing the night there. Very friendly staff (operated owners and their friends), great drinks (infusions) and even better food, and a nice sociable clientele.
Pros: People, food, and music
Cons: funny shape

Tiga is so close to my house that I want to love it. On the first visit, my food was great and the service was fine. The food for my friends was OK. On my second visit (with my wife), the food was below average and service was lousy. Chicken skewers on roasted root vegetables were OK, but the fried cauliflower with romesco was dull and greasy and the "green salad with shallots and croutons" was literally nothing but a pile of red leaf lettuce. When I asked our server about the shallots and croutons, she seemed irritated and said the kitchen was out of croutons. Well that's too bad for the kitchen, but shouldn't they toast up some more bread or perhaps offer a substitute? Who wants to pay $7 for a plate of red leaf lettuce? And if one more hipster server acts like the customer should consider himself luckly to be served by her, I'm gonna go postal. Why on earth should a person wait five minutes for first contact with a server when there isn't another soul in the bar?
Pros: Cozy bar
Cons: Inattentive service, mediocre food

So it's the coolest bar in Portland, and it's non-smoking so you don't come out all smelly! It's a great place to go either on your own (cool bartenders) or on a date ... the food is amazing and such good prices. Good booze, too. So, so glad it exists.
Pros: Food and ambiance
Cons: Parking

Great beer, great food, great prices. This is the neighborhood spot I've been looking for since moving to the area 3 years ago. It's got a great chill vibe, good music and great bartenders. Try the small plates - there's enough stuff on the menu for both carnivores & vegetarians. It's non-smoking too! We love Tiga!
Pros: beer selection, non-smoking, great vibe
Cons: can't think of a single one

how this place isn't jam packed busy every hour they are open i don't know... great food for a great price, awesome bartenders, and a cute little space in the neighborhood but not on alberta. i had deviled eggs(2 eggs for $2), a goat cheese tart with squash ($5), a bit of whisky and a great conversation.
