Went here for the first time last wk, not an after-work crowd rather, lots of locals. (Everyone was there in their t-shirts and jeans or shorts at 5:30pm on a Friday, don't people work anymore???) Had 4 drinks and a lg plate of nachos during happy hour and it was great! The place was crowded and busy but the bartenders were great. The drinks were inexpensive but nice and strong! This place is highly recommended, go when it's nice and you can sit outside in the back at a picnic table, but go early to get a spot.

Pros: Strong, cheap drinks, good happy hour bar food

Cons: Not enough picnic tables out back

We live in the neighborhood and have tried it a few times. Went last night with three other neighbors, and I was none too happy to leave. Just the two of us spent $50 on food and drinks, and that's $40 more than we should have (you can't screw beer up thank God). The bartender talked down to me and made me feel as if she was doing us all an enormous favor as exemplified by her impatient and passive-aggressive demeanor. The food was just average - $7.00 for two tacos as bland as Lake Oswego (go to St. Johns and order the tacos for a buck at the Mexican grocery store and you'll wish you could move in), my mixed drink wasn't all that great, and the service; ah forget it. Why does Portland have the worst service on the planet? I grew up here, but have lived and worked in Chicago and New York, and the neighborhood bars kept me coming back because THEY WERE FRIENDLY - they were a true neighborhood bar, not a pseudo-hip here's a drink and a kick in the jewels for stopping in sort of place. Too cool for school? Bite me. Just my opinion though.

Love the bar, love the patio, love Pesto Turkey sandwich. Great music, I want to steal the bar ipod.

I stumbled upon this N. Portland neighborhood bar a few months ago and it has become my favorite bar in the area. It's non smoking unlike the Florida Room or the Crow Bar and contrary to the other reviews on this site much less attitude from the service. They have a daily drink special and have $1 Pabst on Tuesdays. The food is pretty simple bar food but it's affordable and if your just looking for a snack while drinking it hits the spot without breaking the bank. I cant wait for summer when the gardens grow back, it looks like a little back yard jungle. Cheers vendetta, thanks for opening up in my neighborhood!

Pros: Friendly service, affordable & great mix of people

Cons: Can be hard to get into the bathroom if its busy

This place would be an ok bar if it wasn't for the down right mean service. The ultra too cool for school hippsters at this place made me feel like I wasn't even worth their time or energy. Really felt as if I were back in high school again. Looks like some other people had some of the same experiences. I say avoid this place.

Keep waiting for the owners to wise up...cause bleaching the NE is one thing, but bleaching it with bitches for bartenders is a whole notha story. I could not agree more with nardblast's post.

Vendetta is the perfect N. Portland bar. The space is clean, the patio is beautiful. The food is not only affordable but above average for the price points. The drinks are cheap and the music is good. Yes on a Friday night there can be lines but as a server myself I tend to have patience for servers when they get slammed vs. crying about attitude. If you prefer dive bars, smoke and nasty fried food I suggest you frequent them and leave vendetta to people that enjoy good food and drink! I have never had a problem with service in my many visits. Go Vendetta I will always be a patron.

Pros: Rad Patio and affordable food & drinks.

Cons: Long lines on weekends because stupid people want mojitos

Yawn, I want to like this bar because its so close to my house, the drinks are good, the food and atmosphere is nice, but god damn it the service is snide, and snubby. If you like being treated like a dirty little step child, like you did'nt grow up in Portland, and moved here last week like everyother hipster 20-30 something around here-you'll love it. I'll take any dive bar around here with real service instead. If you don't like the service industry, don't serve folks. I'll chalk this place into the bad naughty pooty catagory where it can reside with the likes of Dots, Genies, and a few more. I'm not alone. A little more V, and a little less Vendetta toward your customers.Nuff said.

Pros: good place

Cons: bartenders need replacement

This is a bar I frequent on a nearly nightly basis. I was surprised to find it listed on City Search since the buisness does not have a sign on the outside. It is a perfect mix of neighborhood and hipsters to the point that you never know who you may run into or meet. The food is affordable and acts as a great filler after work until you find your dinner spot. Expect a great staff and good music.

Pros: Affordable, non-smoking and spacious

Cons: Weekends are busy, prepare to stand in line for the bathrooms.

Welcoming atmosphere. Unpretentious. Large outdoor area. Open air bar created by large garage doors that open. Interesting mix of patrons. Excellent staff. Good food. Live bands, shuffleboard. Definitely a place to stop by on your way home from work.
