I have long been a fan of aveda salons. After moving to the westside I immediately found the nearest location. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Rain. My perferred stylist, Rachel, has been very helpful. I went to her and had 15 inches cut off to donate to Locs of Love. She was able to get the cut just right so that my naturally wavey hair doesn't do an imitation of the flying nun. She has also done coloring services for me as well and is superb.

I have tried the massage services there and have been very pleased. Rain creates a relaxing atmosphere and helps customers make the best hair decisions they can. You won't just get a cut you asked for, that laters looks horrible on you. The stylist can guide you to looking your best.

• Pros: Very knowledgable staff, can guide to best look for you.
• Cons: Don't always get the fabulous hand massage.

Craig is the guy to go to for Long hair!

I had not had my hair cut in over a yr because a previous hair dresser cut my hair above my shoulders and I keep my hair very long. So I have been petrified to go get my hair cut, [not to mention some of the reviews on here] but I had a big event to go to and this Salon is right up the road so I gave it a try. Craig not only listened and did EXACTLY what I wanted but did it better! I have incredibly fine straight long hair and it's a pain to deal with but magically he gave me the best cut I have ever had I love it! I have had more compliments on my hair then ever before! So if you have long hair, go to CRAIG he is awesome! I will def come back because of him!

• Cons: May be a little wait, and is a smaller salon.

DISGUSTED

I was waiting with my head in the shampoo bowl, for what I don't know, while my stylist Ashley was in the back room discussing the most shocking personal details about her boyfriend's legal problems and the serious health issues of a co-worker. I wanted to get up and run!

The place was dirty and incredibly loud. I will never go back!

Ashley Rocks!!!

This was my first time coming here and I wanted to get my hair cut and colored. My stylist was Ashley and my experience was Fantastic!!! I love my hair. The color is just what I wanted, and the cut was exactly like the picture I brought in. I would definatly recommend this salon!!! Ashley was very friendly and understood just what I wanted. I will continue going to Rain Aveda and will definatly go back to Ashley!!! I read what "opinion 101" wrote and I totally disagree with her!!! Honestly Ashley was super nice, very professional, and I left the salon So happy with my hair!!!

Color Cure

I went to Rain for a color correction (truely a disaster done by a different Salon). Eric did the correction with ease in a sort amount of time (I had expected to be there all day and even have to return). The results are lovely (from dark brown to blonde). He also gave me a much needed layered style that took care of the dead ends but didn't shorten my long curls. Also, they are open sundays! You CAN go to Rain and Eric for a color correction, or you can avoid the trama I went through go there first!

Butchered my Hair, stay awar from ashley

I had been to this salon once before and had a great experience as a walk in. My sister-in-law goes here and likes it. I made an appointment this time. I showed up to get my face framed a little more and to get my thick hair thinned a little for the summer. Ashley was my stylist and she was nothing but rude. I had a picture of my hair from before, how I wanted it and told her what I wanted. She said ok and washed my hair. She started cutting my hair and "thinned" it out. She removed at least half of my hair. I love my thick hair, but in the summer it is hot, so I have them thin it a little. It is hardly enough for a pony tail now. She made it all chunky, nothing like what I wanted. She paid no attention to what I wanted and made me feel uncomfortable telling her what I wanted. She only said a handful of things to me, mainly about how my hair was in such bad condition, which its not. I won't be coming back to this salon!

WORST HAIRCUT EVER

Came in for a cut with Rana, wanted it shaped and somewhat shorter, instead she butchered my hair, it looked like a boys cut from a Great Clips (no offense to Great Clips)....totally uneven on both sides, and the back left in chunks....so embarrassing I couldn't even look in the mirror for weeks........the mgr. wanted me to come back in to "fix it" but I told her there was nothing left to fix since it was cut to an inch long on one side, 2-3 on the other, and I didn't want anyone there to touch it. Honestly the absolute worst chopped up mess I ever had. The owners did not call me as the mgr. had stated they would, and so I had to call again and the owner was extremely rude, told me that he got Rana's side of the story but wouldn't tell me what that was, and refused to refund my money back but that all he would do is have another "stylist" fix it. RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! They do not care about the client.

Service Stinks

I have been going to Rain for years for a variety of services. The gal I have seen in the past for waxing is no longer there, so I was scheduled with a hairdresser who does brows. She did a terrible job, got wax on my eyelid and tore skin off my eye lid. My brows are uneven, one is significantly thinner than the other. Then, to top it off, when I went to pay, the receptionist rang it up before I had a chance to present the coupon they had emailed me a few weeks earlier. When I let her know I would like to use the coupon, she become huffy that she had to cancel the transaction and re-do it with the coupon. She then proceeded to help other customers and make me wait until she was finished to re-ring my total. Her attitude was very snotty, not customer service oriented at all. You would think that places like this would be doing everything possible to keep their customers, but they don't get it yet. I have been a faithful customer, but will no longer be returning. After reading other recent reviews, it seems they are really going downhill.

I was quoted one price when I came in for a consultation with the stylist. Gave me a different stylist and Then charged me 50 dollars more and ruined my hair. I do not recomend this salon to anyone I wont be back.

Horrible experience

I have been told that the women there are fantastic, however, the man who I got (mark) was absolutely horrible. He was rude, unhelpful and dyed my hair an awful shade unlike the one I requested. Not only this, they also charged me 50 dollars more than the quoted price, then when I complained he blatantly called me a liar. I would not recommend ever letting that man touch your hair. I had to go to my work party looking like a mess.

Master Stylist Suzette!

My experience at this salon was exceptional! Suzette was my stylist and I assure you that she is truly an artist and knowledgeable about her craft. Since I was unsure of what I wanted for my new look, I put the fate of my hair in her hands and walked away with an amazing new style not to mention beautiful, vibrant color. What I liked most about Suzette was that she kept her focus solely on me. She communicated well and respected my requests. If you are looking for a fantastic new look, I strongly recommend that you ask for Suzette. I sent a friend to her and she, too, had a wonderful experience.
