Treat yourself to a Geisha day
by cathleensorensen at Citysearch
Have curly, wavy, difficult hair? Make an appointment with Kirsten (pronounced Shu-steen) at Geisha Hair salon...today! Kirsten cuts long hair, short hair and anything in between professionally and creatively. She has a gift for finding the perfect style and color for your hair that fits your face and personality. My whole family gets their hair cut by Kirsten. She remembers little details about my boys such as the youngest loves the head, neck, shoulder and arm massage that comes before each hair cut while the oldest isn't fond of it. The atmosphere is friendly, funky and fun. I am so glad that Geisha exists. Make your appointment today, you'll be glad you did.
- Pros: Amazing value for an amazing cut
- Cons: parking can be difficult at times
the best haircut ever for any hair type

Kerstin Moreira is the best. I am black latina and my hair is a reflection of my heritage. Kerstin knows what she is doing. She had to correct a bad haircut and I have been hooked ever since. I recently moved to DC and I went back to have her cut my hair. If you want exceptional service, Kerstin is your girl. Love her, love her, love her.
- Pros: knowledgable, professional, personable
- Cons: non
Amazing hair cut, amazing experience

If you have curly hair and you've been victimized by a bad haircut in the past, go see "Shireen" (how you say her name phoenetically). She is a wizard with the scissors and loves to talk shop. I've never met anyone so knowledgeable and so willing to chat about what you're doing right and what could be improved in order to avoid the dreaded bad hair days. She's also hilarious and completely fun to hang out with--I suspect she'd be a fun time at the wine bar. Highly, highly recommended!
- Pros: best hair cut ever
- Cons: a bit of a beaverton trek--but the max station is right nearby!
Simply put the best hair do's anywhere!

Kerstin has been doing, really taking care of my hair for 3 years now. Oh my gosh. I feel so confident with her that I tell Kerstin to have at it and do whatever! Imagine that. I always walk out of the salon feeling great and confident. My color lasts for what seems forever. Kerstin styles me with the best hair every time I leave the salon. No one has been able to replicate what she does with my hair. The atomsphere is relaxing and I feel like I am with friends, not in a salon!
- Pros: Best hair and atomsphere!
- Cons: None

Rock the Curly Locks
by staceandkris at Citysearch
Moved here from Detroit with the same hair stylist for over 10 years. We've been looking for someone who knows how to do curly thick hair for over a year in Portland. My girlfriend (who has curls too) and I went through 5 hair stylists who all tried their hardest with even the most specific details, but we kept leaving unsatisfied...Until Kerstin (Shus-teen) Rocked the Curly Locks. Amazing hair stylist, funny, personable, and real. Recommend her to anyone, even those who don't have curls. She's part of our family now :)
- Pros: Duh?
- Cons: mmm...nope.
Geisha Salon, the BEST!
by pril6 at Citysearch
Cindy has been doing my hair for years and I would never go anywhere eles unless under torture. She is also a wizard at color and I have done some funky things to my hair that she has helped me overcome. Sooze is great too, she does a great job on my brows. The Salon is charming, the staff are sweeties. It's a fun relaxing experience. The best in my book.
- Pros: there is no downside, this is the perfect salon!
Geisha is a true gem in hair salons - intimate, friendly, and great service!

Geisha is truly a rare find in the hair world. I spent many years in Portland jumping around from stylist to stylist until I found Kerstin. Finally - someone who listens to what I want , makes suggestions, and then works with my hair to achieve the look we decide upon - teamwork at its best. She goes above and beyond on extras like a hand massage with while you are coloring. I would recommend any of the gals at Geisha to all my friends and family (which I have!).
Best place to get a mohawk!

If you are looking for a hairstylist who does the Japanese straight hair perm, this is the place to go. The ladies here are professional, honest, warm, kind, and friendly. You are treated like part of the family. Love the art pieces and ecclectic music. Geisha salon is no ka oi (the best)!
- Pros: Japanese straight hair perm
- Cons: Street parking
More than a feelin'!

Although not a ?saloon?, Geisha Salon is conveniently located and the quality of service is top-notch! I?ve never been a big fan of somebody standing behind me with a sharp pair of scissors, and was always a bit skittish of having my hair cut. However, Kerstin makes the experience pleasant every time, immediately putting even the most cut-anxious skull at ease. Instinctively, she knew what to do with my mop and with precision craftwork, she made me look like a rockstar and feel terrific about my visit. If you?re looking for the best haircut experience from a local, neighborhood business, then look no further than Geisha Salon! I love you Kerstin!
