User Reviews for Zakira Martial Arts

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

I just started at Zakira 2 months ago. I have previous experience with other styles and schools and Zakira is definitely worth trying out. They teach various martial arts within a same class and it works very well. During the class you'll jump from Sport karate to self defense to jujitsu. It is not MMA but time is spent on each style in order to fully understand it. Both instructors are very knowledgeable and committed. The classes are fun, and the work out is great. Overall, Zakira is way worth it!

Pros: great work out, experienced instructors, fun

Cons: a little more expensive than your average dojo, but cheaper than cable TV and better work out

My son has been attending martial arts classes for about a year and a half with Zakira. He's taken other classes elsewhere but has never been as happy as he is at ZMA. The main reason he loves this gym so much is Sifu Paul Marquez, owner and instructor. He's amazing with the kids. He makes class so much fun. He has a very special gift that allows the kids to have a blast but at the same time he knows when to use discipline and always gives the kids valuable advice for their everyday life. Tournaments are always fun and enjoyable for all the kids who compete. My son can barely wait for class and has so much respect for Sifu Paul. He's now taking an additional private class as well as assisting in the younger children's class because he wants to spend any extra time there. Well worth the time and money!

Pros: Amazing instructor, always very fun for the kids

Cons: Can sometimes be a little bit of a downer with the financial commitment
