Awful food, awful service
by mshenoy1
The sushi was just awful - they try to disguise the poor fish quality by loading it up with mayo. But even mayo and frying the fish cannot hide the poor fish quality. Avoid this place.
- Pros: location
- Cons: everything else
Terrible Service
by Supro
My wife and I have gone to Yuki on a weekly basis for years. The food is always great, and we love sushi. The waitress staff is also responsive and friendly. The problem is that the wait for your food is extremely unpredictable, and it has nothing to do with how many folks are in the restaurant. Numerous times we hve been one of only a few tables, but the sushi chefs will prepare to go order after to go order and make the customers wait - even if you order first. Last week we were one of five tables, and we waited 35 minutes before they even started to prepare our order. We are usually totally easy going, but that was it. We asked for our Miso soup check and left without eating. We will never go back.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Ridiculous, unpredictable wait
Awesome Sushi
by Tez
I have been to several sushi restaurants in Portland but always keep coming back to Yuki. The fish is outstanding, fresh, tasty and wonderfully presented with so many creative rolls to choose from. The staff is friendly and eager to please. I highly recommend this restaurant.
- Pros: Fabulous sushi
- Cons: Small restaurant, not great for large groups
Best Sushi in Portland!
by mikejanniro
We have eaten at many Sushi Bars, and by far found Yukis on NW 23 to always have the best.
Their Sushi chefs are very inventive in their presentation and the service is always friendly and execellent. They make you feel like you are at home. We go here a several times per month and have never been disappointed by the staff or the food being served. The chefs have created special dishes for us on special occassions. We love the selection of dishes, the staff and their service. We highly recommend it to our friends.
- Pros: Great food, Great warm service
- Cons: Are you kidding?
great service and food

I haven't been for a while.. but, I have always had very attentive and friendly service at Yuki's. I also love their food, dragon roll is one of my fav's!
in the summer it is fun to sit outside and people watch. Another bonus, after your meal you can walk across the street and get some yummy gelato!
- Pros: service, location, food
- Cons: size
Customer service is OK, but...
by fobos
When I went there, I ordered sashimi dinner. There were about 5 kinds of sashimi, but three of them were some kind of white fishes, at kleast I had never had before. Well, the taste was not as good, except salmon. If you like casual Japanese restaurant with affordable price, this place may be good. But I would rather have something else if I pay $15 for my sushi.
- Pros: Customer service
- Cons: Food
STAY AWAY!
by erere
My husband and I We had eaten at the restaurant since we married. This used to be a great place, but not anymore. I think they've had an ownership change.
The sushi was too tightly pressed and the rice overcooked, the gyoza lacked taste.
And our dinner arrived before we even had a chance to finish the appetizers. I still had some appetizer to eat. The waitress did not come back to the table until she brought the check.
I expected better but was dissapointed in the end. questionable service.
- Cons: service, food
Best Sushi on the West Coast
by rhane
I have had sushi in Ann Arbor, Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angles, San Diego, Hawaii, Australia, and all over Portland but Yuki on 23rd is the highest quality I have ever had. They consistently deliver excellent service and phenomenal food. I work near by and eat at Yuki at least once a week and none of the other sushi places along 23rd are as consistently excellent as Yuki. If you are looking for a nice atmosphere or just a quiet place to read this is the location. On sunny days their patio is a great place to sit and people watch. If you are tired of a conveyor belt delivering your sushi then you need to visit Yuki.
- Pros: Good price, great food, nice and courteous service
- Cons: none
Some of the best sushi around
by smalls4967
I love their california roll, and the cherry bomb is especially innovative and good(who knew Peanut Sauce, bits of cherry and sushi rolls would go together and well!). I even tried the "Crazy Boy" a tempura fried sushi roll, never would have thought I would like it. Only not so good thing is the tempura, not my favorite place to get it.
- Pros: Creative rolls, kind service
- Cons: Tempura's not my fave, forgetful waitresses.
Portland's best sushi. Yuki
by grch
Yuki is the tastiest sushi in portland
I love this place and have been a loyal costomer for over 2years.
The quality and quantity is excellent, especially for the price and the staff is very friendly.
The tempura salmon roll is fantastic. Excellent California roll is only $3.00
Try the bento box too(a deiclous teriyaki with shrimp tempura and salad, soup, gyoza and sushi...yum yum yum ..)
I've always enjoyed it.
If you are looking for sushi made with the freshest, Yuki is the place to go.
