You're all nuts!!! I'm with Herger on this one. Every time I come here I am treated to the cheapest and stiffest drinks handed over by the nicest bartenders. I've never felt uncomfortable in here, or that I'm being treated like a slob. Heyyyyyy, maybe it's because I ain't no slob!! You get what you put out I guess, and if you're a poo than you probably won't like this place, but if you wan't a real tasty drink (I suggest the aweome #2) goood jukebox, and some delicious tots, then The Florida room is your place. The back room is totally sweet too, it feels like you're in your friends basement in high school or something.
- Pros: absolutely everything
- Cons: the deep fried avocado isn't as good as it sounds...

I had high hopes for this bar, but I was a bit disappointed. It's small, and the room is weirdly shaped- not quite conducive for a large group or just two people. The bartenders were quite friendly, and the drinks were cheap for happy hour. The food is average. .

I've tried to patronize this place several times. It has too much attitude and little to offer. Thank god for the smoking ban recently in effect. Until then it was too smokey to hang out. I once ordered chicken skewers that were partially raw. The 2 different specialty drinks my friend and I ordered tasted the same and were not good for the price. The owner didn't smile and just rudely demanded our I.D'S before any kind of greeting. Too many other bars, you're not that cool.
This place will fist your liver, and for a good price!

So earlier in here I read some bad reviews. I will tell you this! That lady who was from Florida, why don't you go lay under some fat neck dude and 12 of his buddies and STFU. Blah blah blah they over charged us and when we corrected them, they made us feel cheap. CAUSE YOU ARE!!! Don't worry about it! Its 50 damn cents. I mean c'mon you yuppie tard. So they maybe messed up, have you ever worked service industry? 6 out of 10 customers are rude, ask dumb questions and are all around idiots. Like you! This bar rocks, there are friendly, true, well rounded individuals. There drinks are cheap and there ipods rockin. Lots of good folks go there and I have never had a better TOT in my life. So go back to Florida, we don't want you here!
- Pros: Cheap Drinks!!!
- Cons: None. I said Cheap Drinks.

i know the owner. she used to manage various mcmenamin bars. she is demon seed that devours goodness of everything around her with her horridly pretentious attitude. her putrid core has infected the place with a stink of black moldy smug. avoid this place like the plague, because the bad vibe is nauseating and life is too short for bad times that you can avoid!

I just came back from the Florida Room, which I have been to a dozen times or so. I am from Florida, so I obviously was intrigued when this bar first opened. It wasn't quite what I would think of as "Floridian," but it was a quaint bar with decent specials. This evening I was there with my husband and we were both getting the "SIN" special prices (service industry $.50 off). My husband was overcharged for a drink and when we brought it up to the owner and the bartender, she said, and I quote "it's only .$50 it's not a venture capitalist investment!," while having a good laugh. I realize $.50 is not that much dough, but when the owner and bartender only do not admit and apologize for their mistake, they make fun of you for being cheap (I'm sure they couldn't open their bar if they didn't watch their finances), and don't offer to refund the money they stiffed you, that is very sad. If you do happenstance at this bar, make sure they charge correctly and tell the pretentious owner off if she messes with you.
- Pros: OK atmosphere, nice people watching if you get a good booth
- Cons: rude bartenders (who are also the owners) Would-be good happy hour if they charged what they advertise
Wouldnt rush back

I have been to the Florida Room a hand full of times now and have pretty much the same service each time. It hasn't been rude service as much as it has just been unfriendly with a hint of I don't care if you want something , you will get it when I feel like giving it to you service. On the positive note the food and drinks when you do get them have always been good. They have a nice little patio which is nice if you want to avoid the smoke but there are some better patios in the neighborhood (vendetta). Over all the bar is nice but the service lacks. If people were a little friendlier I would frequent the place more often.
- Pros: Jukebox & Patio
- Cons: Service & Smoke

I had a friend take me there once, because I think he knew someone that worked there. While I was there I had something that was not approaching customer service. I have been back two more times yes its the same. The bartenders: You ask them a question and they walk away?? Yes do you have this (place brand here) cider? and they just walk away!! Also does this place cater to some type of "alternative fraternity"? While I was there this lady that said yes "I am the owner" (with her head back and nose in the air and that kind of "you are so lucky to be in my cool diner bar kind of response). It was all just way to much to be in a bar that looks like it just came up from the dead ruins of a diner or gas station. This last time I stayed and had one more drink (finally being able to track the bartender down) just to watch this sad display: A man walks up the bartender (kind of butch) she glares at him, (does not say hi or what can I get you to drink?) he ask if she has something (that he cannot see) and she walks away, the bartender then goes back to hang out with her customers that are also kind of butch and I hear her say "straight people (with the huff at the end). As the guy is turning to leave I notice a pink triangle pin on his packpack thats on his back..nice. Even against your own kind. Is this a bar? or a click? The alternative tattoo fraternity character aspect of this bar is sad especially when you turn people away by your over the top childish ways. This bar would be cool if: You acted more humble about the fact that you look like you are a diner, and you had the old "diy" character about you. As in "yes I am the owner, thank you for comming" (take the corporate out) instead of "Yes I am the owner, how may we harass you"? The Lesson: even if you are trying to be cool, cheap and pretentious and open a bar inside of an old diner, FORGET IT!! and just open a franchise of "D*cks last resort", so we will know that yes you really mean business.
It's alright.

I've been to the Florida Room a couple of times. It's okay if you're just looking to go hang out with some friends. GUYS...just don't take a girl there on the first date, (not romantic at all). Overall, the prices for drinks are decent, the atmosphere is very chill, and the people in there are cool. You won't run into anybody with a stuck up, I'm better than you attitude b.s. It's pretty cool.

Great drinks and friendly service. A great addition to the neighborhood. Awesome back patio too! I'm not sure why it is called a dive bar because it is far from it. I will return again and again!
- Pros: Drinks, Food, Atmosphere
- Cons: Parking
