lite this place up and spitt on theie shoes!!!!

by deano32

this store is a complete JOKE!!! i went in there and everything seemed fine and dandy for a bit, then the owners personality did a complete 180. he started acting crazy, typical meth behavior... my guess is meth head hipsters... the worst kind of person!!!! meth heads are not cool, hipsters are worse, combine the two, and you get "the office" no wonder why someone smashed their front window... they should have lit up the place... the owner was this little dude with a giant ego, hipster tude, and meth chillin on his upper lip... ive been waiting to see this dude in public so i can vamp him... i knew a kid that worked there for a minute and he pretty much confirmed this entire situation... also, they are gapers and dont skate, the owner didnt even know how to grip tape a board... i personaliy feel sorry for these dudes famlies... hang in there famlies, meth will pick them off sooner than later... HEY OFFICE, BUY A HELMET AND LEARN TO SWIM...

Buyer Beware

by pdxsk8

Don't waste your time, these guys shouldn't be interacting with the public. I went into the shop to check out their gear or (lack their of) and I was ignored walking in which isn't a big deal because I hate it when I get hounded when I first walk into a store. But when I asked this guy "do you work here" so that I could ask him if these shoes I wanted came in my size. His reply was "I guess,..." with a look of distain, like he was some kinda of elitist. I know I may not be a pro skater but I still dig the shoes, and that shouldn't be a prerequisite to shop at a skate shop. But after he snubbed me, I figured that I would rather shop at JC Penny shoes (gross) than spend money there.

Your selection was not impressive, and the back of the store smelled like tweek. But some guy who would rather sit on his couch biting his finger nails while reading a Hustler magazine-thus alienating his customers shouldn't be in business. I guess that is why Grenade Gloves dropped their association with these clowns.

  • Pros: nothing really, these guys make Zumiez attractive and I can't believe I'm saying that.
  • Cons: price, atmosphere, tweekers, employees, selection, basically everything

Best shop, hands down

by bjornswopey

I don't know what shop pdxskaterforlife went into, but it certainly wasn't the Office. Yes, they are owned by Grenade but they carry all sorts of stuff, and YES all the dudes in there DO skate, and YES they DO know their stuff. This shop is the real deal. It didn't get voted best skateshop in Portland by "Willamette Week" for nothing. I noticed that pdxskaterforlife wrote crappy reviews for a number of other local portland shops, which probably means he works for some chump store like Zumiez. If you haven't checked out the Office yet, I highly recommend you do. They also have a new shop on 81st and Stark that is worth checking out. The manager over there is on a totally different buying program, so there is a bunch of different stuff over there.

A joke of a store!

by pdxskaterforlife

C'mon. This place is a joke. It's basically a Grenade warehouse sale. I guess it's cool for snow bro stuff, but it is definitely not a skateshop. None of the dudes in there knew anything. I don't think they even skate. Won't catch me in there again...

Core Shop, Amazing Customer Service, Solid Gear, and hands down the BEST DEALS!

by kevinnimick

This hole in the wall has it all for Portland's price concious hipsters, beginner to old time core skateboarders (Check out the old school collection on the walls), and has more street cred with the snowboard community than almost any other shop in the NW due to being owned by Grenade Manufaturing masterminds Matt & Danny Kass. It's loaded with limited Grenade gear, but is also a fully diversified clothing, skateboard, snowboard, footwear, graffiti, and accessory shop. The rotating gallery zone (Conference Room) hosts legitimate artists, with opening parties every first friday of every month (which tend to be a really fun time where everything in the shop is on sale.) There are vintage video games to spend some time on, videos & music playing all the time, a candy machine, and a couch to park it on while testing the friendly employees on all sorts of industry related history / info. / gossip. They have a "No Reasonable offer refused" policy that gets implemented more often than not, if your not already impressed with their very reasonable pricing. They know their place in the city, and although they carry lots of limited & Boutiquey brands and product lines, they do their best to make it attainable. This shop has stirred a buzz in Portland, and throughout the NW. Go Find out why! (Located across the street from Ole Ole Mexican Joint.)
