I had down-to-my-waist naturally brown hair that I'd never dyed or processed, and was looking for a shoulder length, blonde scene-y layered fantasticness. My stylist's name was Eric (formerly of Bishop's) and I was taken aback by his attention to detail and knowledge. I tried my best to explain what I wanted (without any pictures, even) and he spent the next five hours foiling, toiling and styling me to perfection. This was a VERY big deal to me, seeing as I was about to take thirteen mousy brown inches of history off of my body, and he made me feel like a hot blonde rocker chick by the end of the night. All in all, the atmosphere (rad music, great chairs/mirrors/church pew waiting section) was awesome, along with the friendly employees that all lent their advice toward making me over. I'll definitely be telling all my friends and coming back in a month when I want something even more different.
Pros: Great staff, cool decor, short wait times, extensive magazine collection
Cons: snotty receptionist

Rudy's advertises itself as a walk-ins only place, but that's far from the truth. You can call ahead and ask the receptionist to put your name on "the list" for a specified time. That way when you arrive by that time or later, you'll get the next available chair. Those who arrived before you, but didn't have their name on the list get to ride pine, or in this case the oak church pew, for a while longer. If you don't know about this, it's extremely frustrating. Depending on who the receptionist is that day, you can make your so called non-appointment appointment either only an hour ahead or anytime that day. If you can name a particular stylist, that'll also garner you certain special priviledges. The haircuts are usually really good. However, getting into a chair without blowing a gasket because certain folk get cuts like in a school lunch line can be challenging. Good luck
Pros: Good cuts
Cons: Highly dramatic receptionist

You gotta get your hair done by Emily from Florida. She's awesome. Her meticulous detail in cutting and color. You'll love the end result for sure. I've been searching like crazy for a hairstylist and never went back twice to the same stylist ever. But for Emily..I absolutely love her taking care of my hair and i'll go to her every chance i get. Thanks girl! The price are such a steal as well!
Pros: Friendly, Listen to your needs, Laid-back feel
