Comfort and Beauty all in one
by BsMama
If you want a salon that feels like you're downtown with all the comfort of a neighborhood Salon Trixie's is the place. It is like stepping into a scene from Steel Magnolias and everyone is treated like a friend. The stylists all know their stuff. If you want to treat yourself to a mani/pedi, facial, or a wax this is the place. It isn't a quick trip into a dank room, it is relaxing and luxurious. I also don't have to worry about contracting a nasty fungus as everything is hospital clean.
- Pros: Friendly staff, no pressure, relaxing
Great Stylist, Fun Vibe
by jenniferpdx
Tyler is an amazing stylist, she made me feel incredibly comfortable and at ease while cutting off 10 inches of mine for charity. Plus, she completely updated my look with a great cut and beautiful color, all my friends and my husband are raving about my new look. She gave me the convenience and functionality of a mom haircut with an edge - I love it!! My first visit with Tyler was a blast and I will be back!
- Pros: Fantastic stylist, brow waxes are amazing, free parking
Rockin' in NoPo

I totally disagree with the other review. I had a great mani and relaxing pedi from Amber that lasted forever. I have been back a few times and each time at Trixie's was more like my neighborhood hangout for upscale style than the last. I love all of the cute knickknacks and the products are top of the line. Tyler is also a whiz with the scissors and I walk out feeling like a new woman each time she cuts and styles my hair. I will definitely be back for more!
Avoid the manicures
by flowergryl
The salon is adorable, and next door to a great cafe. Staff are friendly and helpful. However I advise you to skip the manicure services altogether. I've had manicures at many salons around the country, from Vietnamese strip mall salons to high end spas. I'm always on the lookout for a new place to try. For $20 you should get a great one, and mine was one of the worst manicures EVER. My nails were filed unevenly (that is first), polish was coated so thick that it smudged on the drive home, it bubbled, and within 5 days I had to remove it, it just looked bad. Save your $ and try another salon for nail services. A big disappointment.
North Portland Gem

I love Trixie's!!!!!!!!!!! The owner Tracy makes you feel as if you are her best friend over for a visit. She does a great job of waxing my eyebrows. Tyler is a wonderful stylist! Her style is edgy and current and she herself is FUN. I have yet to try the other services...............but I will when the time comes. I hope Trixie's is around for a very long time............it is hard to find a good salon that offers a wide range of services in my neighborhood that actually does a great job at very good prices.
- Pros: everything
Best hairstylist that I've found in Portland!
by smartrn
Trixie's is a wonderful place for services. The hairstylist, Tyler, is the best I've found in a long time. She is so skilled at both cutting and coloring hair. She really listens to you, and offers helpful suggestions. Plus, there are no surprises when she's done. If you ask her to cut off 1/2 ", that's what she'll do. The prices are reasonable, there's plenty of parking, and there are other great stops in the neighborhood. It's a small salon, so you don't have to contend with lots of noise. Get in now, before Tyler gets too popular (which will only be a matter of time!).
- Pros: Small salon, free & available parking, very talented stylist, reasonable prices
- Cons: None.
Treat Yourself!

I love the "pressed for time facial" at Trixies. At 30 bucks it is a guilt free treat. My skin looked great for weeks afterwards. My husband even noticed a difference! There is no pressure to buy products and Tracy is delightful.
Small NoPo Gem!

Discreet waxing, relaxing facials, talented hair stylist in this small neighborhood locale. Makes you feel like its a mini spa retreat. Good products with natural ingredients - not all those nasty chemicals and petroleum products you often see. They also offer manis and pedis but I haven't tried those yet. Prices are slightly higher on certain services than you might expect from a small neighborhood place, but nothing is unreasonable and the service is worth it.
- Pros: Service, Location, No pressure
- Cons: Small space, No evening services
