Nice Happy Hour Menu. We went with a bunch of friends for happy hour. Prices were good. Items as cheap as $1 and going up to $10 for a huge gourmet burger. Kind of crazy when it came to the table. Serious cocktail list but we stuck to the happy hour drinks which were tasty. The obvious seriousness behind the bar seemed to translate into waiting for our drinks a little longer than expected but worth it. My drink came with a chunk of ice in it that looked like it was chipped off an ice block. Pretty cool. The place is laid back. Waiter was nice. No complaints. I'm going back to try the dinner menu. Looked like good, comfort food.  View Less View More

My Second Time..... Last night was my second time to 23Hoyt. It was good before, but it was very good last night. We had two flatbreads to start and then I had the most delicious fresh pasta I've ever had in Portland. I've had better elsewhere but not in this city. My companion enjoyed a chicken entree and although didn't knock her socks off like my pasta dish, she enjoyed it very much.

Service was great. A very friendly gentleman checked on our table a number of times. He must have been the manager. This place would have gotten a B the last time we were in but last night definitely an A.

Not too expensive, cocktail list is interesting. Bartender was very friendly. Music in bathrooms oddly loud.  View Less

Good food, terrible service. I went with a friend and we each ordered one drink...it took 15-20 minutes to get our drinks and they messed one drink up. We ordered olives and fried green beans, our olives were brought to us 20 minutes after our drinks and they brought us fried onions (wrong again). We let them know and 15 minutes later when our beans were still not there we asked to cancel that order. Did I mention that the place was dead? There was literally 5 tables of people. Overall, our waitress rarely checked in and messed up both orders. I will not go back.  View Less View More

Nice experience. Reasonably priced entrees, great cocktails and excellent service. The Happy Hour menu looks good; I will be back soon.

Great Happy Hour. We love 23Hoyt. They just changed their menu again! And all of the new items are even better than before. The happy hour menu is bigger and better. We usually come in for happy hour and stay for dinner. The dinner menu is reasonably priced with fantastic dishes. The drinks are inventive yet still classic. 23Hoyt is bar far our favorite place to dine! See you there!  View Less View More

Great food and Service. 23Hoyt is an upscale place to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. The happy hour menu is outstanding. The dinner prices and menu items are reasonable and exciting. One of our favorite spots for drinks and food!  View Less View More

Good service, horrible menu/food. Not impressed with food. Lack of vegetarian dish. Backup is usually fish for me. Choice of Ahi sandwich or Cod fish and chips...Just not impressed. I settled for the waiter's suggestion of Mac and Cheese without the bacon, which is a good dish, but not a very creative solution. No veggies at all came with it. The guy next to me, who had a steak, had more greens with his dish. I have no patience for establishments that don't have a vegetarian alternative, especially in a large, progressive community such as Portland. The waiter was very good, and took care of our group of 10+ very well. Food delivery was prompt. The entire place was very clean. Overall, I'd give 3 stars, just don't expect healthy food.  View Less View More

Good Food Fun Time. Liked this place a lot. Good menu and nice waiters. Upscale feel but down to earth everything else.

Sunday Dinner. I love comfort food and the menu was full of my favorites. I settled on the fish and chips which were perfectly cooked and the fries were better than McDonalds! I know, not much of a reference but they really were that satisfying. So many restaurants try to do their own fries and so often you get a limp and greasy mess you have to pick through for some good bites. You have to try the fries. Salty and good! The room was nice and warm as was our waiter. Just a nice solid place. Almost forgot, you can get a huge mug of beer. I couldn't believe the size of it when it came to the table.  View Less View More

We had a wonderful night... We sat upstairs with our children who are both toddlers. We were at a perfect table away from other patrons so that the children could be free to express themselves (be loud) without bothering others. We could look down on the restaurant from our table. It was busy and fun to watch people. I had the wedge salad with blue cheese dressing which was delicious and the roasted chicken which was also superb. The kids had pasta. The kitchen made them something specifically to their liking. It was a good night with the family and we had no complaints except for parking. We had to park a block away and walk. It wasn't pouring rain so that was fine. We'll be back in any case.  View Less View More
