Empower Fitness is a very different kind of facility, far from the "big box" gyms where people go to socialize or pick up other members. It's a much more intimate setting with good energy and a relaxing feel to it, while at the same time providing innovative fitness equipment for a complete workout. The entertainment centers at each cardio station are a nice touch. There is plenty of room for stretching and relaxation as well. The trainers are all very knowledgeable and always willing to help and advise. They also offer intense group-training classes as well and yoga and many other sevices. I have really enjoyed being a member there!
Pros: Personal Trainers with a wealth of knowledge
Cons: I have no excuses left.

I recently was visiting my mother (who is a member) from out-of-state and was immediately welcomed into the "empower community." They are supportive, caring and have had a wonderful, healthy & happy effect on my mother's life. I can't thank them enough. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Pros: caring staff, real "family" atmosphere

This place is the ultimate in personal attention. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and membership costs are very reasonable. Hours and classes are convenient too. My sports massage after my workout was extremely effective, probably the best one I've had in ages!
Pros: lighting, personal attention

I stumbled upon Empower Fitness when I was looking for good and affordable yoga classes. I found that and more. The atmosphere here is really mellow and it's never crowded so it makes working out fun and unintimidating. The staff is great and Troy offers small group coaching sessions as an introduction to the equipment and to create a personalized workout regimen. Since I'm not very gym savvy this was a big plus for me. He's always happy to answer questions and to help me with my form when I ask. The yoga classes are wonderful. Sean is a terrific teacher and since the classes are so small he is always willing to cater to the wishes of the class. It's like having a personal yoga instructor. Being a college student I figured that a gym membership was a luxury I would have to forgo but they offer some really good student rates and it's definitely worth it for all of the personal attention.

Empower is a really laid-back place to workout or take some classes. The basketball game was on last night during my coaching session, so Troy turned it on over the stereo system so I wouldn't miss it! It made working out SO much easier! I'm really looking forward to the Yoga and Health Retreat. I've never tried yoga before, so this will be a great introduction.
Pros: relaxed, motivating, knowledgeable staff

I just joined Empower because of its proximity to work - and they offered a locals discount. I'm impressed with how quickly I can get through my workouts because all the equipment I need is right next to me when I need it. The free group coaching was a great motivator to get me on the right track too.
Pros: layout, lighting, coaches

Great place if you actually want to exercise without needing to primp beforehand! Everything is pretty private (cardio, lifting equipment, private shower) and classes are kept small on purpose. GREAT TRAINERS! I'm excited to see the expansion coming soon!
Pros: trainers, personal attention, customer service

Probably the best workout in town! Very creative coaches/instructors that find muscles you haven't felt in a long time. The place isn't a typical gym - more like a boutique club in NYC except the price is really reasonable.
Pros: Price, Equipment, Personal TV/DVD player!!!

Being an athlete for a long time training with people in more traditional gyms, I was a little unsure coming up to Empower. Once I met the staff and trainers and saw how comprehensive the facility was, I was sold! It's definitely different but can meet the needs of just about anyone. I love the group coaching classes... you definitely push yourself harder when there are 2 other people in the room, but it's set up to be as competitive or comfortable as the clients want. Try the free one - it's definitely worth it and you'll want more!
Pros: Ambience, Personalized Service/Classes, Fitness Tracking Computer Programs
Cons: Awkward dumbbells

I just enrolled at this facility, and from what I have seen so far I think I will enjoy it. I was given a non intrusive fitness test and a DVD to show me how to use the equipment, very helpful.
Pros: Very helpful and stylish.
