I had high hopes for Masu, i had heard good things about downtown, but i went to east. The service was cold, at one point we asked the hostess for desert menus and she took our order but never put it in or told the server who was taking too long... our server than took the time to tell us what we had done wrong. 4 star restaurant? i think not. The food sounded good on the menu, but it was executed poorly, like they were trying to hard for the contemporary title. the salmon nigiri had lemon slices on it. this ruins the flavor of the fish, and seem like more of a cover for un-fresness than a garnish. I have had better versions of there cuisine at less pretty restaurants. also the music was atrocious, like bad covers of Broadway tunes. it was loud and kenny g ish.
Pros: Dessert, when it finally came was amazing.
Cons: let me down
