Maya Abdominal Massage with Sarah Wylie is Amazing

by SusannaMaida at Citysearch

I recently had two abdominal surgeries -- the 1st to remove my right ovary and the 2nd to remove scar tissue that formed after the first surgery. Within weeks of the 2nd surgery, I could feel new scar tissue forming. I also noticed that I was feeling a growing sadness, fatigue, and mild depression.

Two friends suggested abdominal massage to help eliminate scar tissue. I've since had three sessions of Maya Abdominal Massage with naturopath Sarah Wylie and this process is amazing on many levels. After the 2nd massage, I could tell that my incision was healing normally and wouldn't be forming the scar tissue like it had after the 1st surgery.

In my 3rd massage, much to my surprise, I felt deep grief when Sarah was working the area where my ovary had been removed. Then, suddenly, the grief was gone. The next day I felt lighter, happier, and more energized than I had since the surgeries. It seemed that something was released during that massage.

Maya Abdominal Massage is quite profound. Not only is it giving me the outcome I wanted (eliminating scar tissue), but it's also offering unexpected emotional and energetic healing. I suspect I'm addressing whatever imbalance caused the growth of the abnormal cyst that led to the removal of my right ovary and thus restoring greater health and balance to my pelvic area, which I believe is critical for women, since this is where the source of our feminine power resides.

As for Sarah, her energy is that of a priestess. She approaches her work with a sacred reverence and her wise and experienced touch is deeply nourishing and profoundly healing. This is work she was born to do and I strongly believe that all women would benefit greatly from receiving Maya Abdominal Massage from Sarah. And if you're pregnant, if you've ever experienced any pelvic trauma, or if you currently have gynecological problems, I would heartily encourage you to give Maya Abdominal Massage a try.

Very personal service

by lilyandelsa at Citysearch

I've been seeing two physicans at Kwan-Yin Healings Arts Center since April. They are my allies and I look forward to each appointment. They've been most helpful and supportive during my personal process of healing. I highly recommend this healing arts center for acupunture and mayan abdominal massages.

--gifted, intuative, collaborative healers--

by Lao at Citysearch

At Kwan-Yin I've gotten the most holistic health experience of my life. I feel that I have a team behind me, that collaborate and discuss my health in order to deliver the most optimum care possible. They consider all aspects of care by weighing all the physical, emotional and financial impacts it has on people--short and long term. I trust in my health care providers for the first time in a long time.

Jenny Netzer is the first acupuncturist I've seen. I am admittedly a skeptic by nature, but from the first session there were immediate results. One example being, I have very irregular periods which has always concerned me. Within one month of seeing Jenny she started my period for me! Magic. And then succeeded the next month as well. Jenny is an advocate for my health: a knowledgeable, concerned, and gifted healer. I only wish I'd met her sooner.

Go, and get pure, simple answers.

  • Pros: natural healers with tangible results
  • Cons: none to speak of

Dr. Gurevich is great!

by yuksteroregon at Citysearch

I've tried a couple of other naturopath doctors before I found Dr. Gurevich through my co-worker. Other naturopath doctors I've seen have prescribed a lot of supplements to purchase from their offices, which weren't that effective, but Dr. Gurevich's approach is different. She understood that I was on a budget so she prescribed only what's necessary, and also gave me a lot of advice on dietary and lifestyle changes. I'm starting to feel a lot better now.

Healing

by MaryBethWagner at Citysearch

From the time you enter the door, everyone treats you with care and kindeness. The schedulers are very patient with all types of personality-types. They take time to answer your insurance and other questions in detail.

The office is clean and serene.

The acupuncturists (I've seen 3) are professional without being stand-offish. Daniel Raider has provided me with long term care that is sensitive to my needs as a whole person. I truly feel cared for and cared about. He includes me in decision making and in the process of my healing. Though I have not had acupuncture treatment before going to K'wan-Yin, I can not imagine ever going anywhere else.

  • Pros: Very kind and attentive service
  • Cons: None I can think of

Kwan-Yin Healing Arts Delivers

by Devani at Citysearch

Admittedly, this is my first experience with an accupuncturist and naturopath, but I've had amazing results with Mary Huang and Ilana Gurevich at Kwan-Yin Healing Arts Center. Mary and Dr. Gurevich work together to create a care plan and follow up to check the results and tweak it if necessary. I've received compassionate and integrated care, to the point where after tearing my ACL and spraining my MCL in a ski accident, Mary added time into her schedule to treat me immediately for the pain and swelling.

The clinic is warm, inviting, and clean, and the office staff are wonderful. Parking is easy and available despite the location, near busy NW 23rd. I live in NE and can get to the clinic and park within 10 to 15 minutes from my door.

If you're in the market for accupuncture or naturopathic care, you can feel comfortable going to Kwan-Yin and working with anyone at the clinic.

  • Pros: Responsive, caring, knowledgeable
  • Cons: may not be on your insurance plan

Healing Within

by Mari5864266er at Citysearch

The Kwan-Yin Healing Arts Center atmosphere is very peaceful, calming, relaxing, and welcoming. Dr. Chen is absolutely amazing. She listens very carefully , and an excellent problem solver. Her personality is very calming, relaxing, caring, and loving. As you can already read they are highly recommended. I really enjoy Asian Health Care. There is no comparison to Western medicine. Healing starts within.

a world of difference!

by vitolover at Citysearch

Only a few meetings with Mary Huang for accupuncture and Ilana Guervich for naturopathic medicine brought greater relief for chronic illnesses than several years of traditional Western treatment had. They both treat me with respect and listen well to the answers I give to their thoughtful questions. Having the two in the same office really allows for a sharing of complementary treatments which have given me a peaceful mind and a much less painful body. There is no need to make a trip to the pharmacy since the dispensary is right there, and confidence that the formulas are the correct ones. The general aura is peaceful, and I have had only positive experiences with the office staff. I truly look forward to my visits at Kwan-Yin!

Pain free now

by cathyb09 at Citysearch

After 10+ years of debilitating pain from endometriosis, I finally decided to try acupuncture. I was tired of eating ibuprofen, going to the ER only to be given pain meds, uncaring docs, etc. I was referred to Lanai Mackey by a co-worker and I have now been pain-free for the past 8 months. It feels good to feel good! Before long most of my coworkers were going to see Lanai for acupuncture treatments for various health issues. She is the most caring, peaceful practitioner I have ever gone to. I always look forward to my appointments with her. Lanai is nothing short of a miracle worker and I am eternally grateful to her. I also had the pleasure of being treating by Dr. Chen and that was almost a spiritual experience. She is amazing! I highly recommend acupuncture to everyone I know!
