I went to Pranallama for the first time last week & loved my massage. I am attempting to make it a more regular habit promting me to stay healthy & reward my new running training efforts with some good relaxation & fatigued leg recovery. I couldn't believe how well Jimena knew where to go and the strong pressure she gave. She greets you with a warm smile. Her office is a cozy little cabin off Alberta street that's been given a Peruvian theme - since that's where her family is from. She has beautiful artwork & nice natural light, that just puts you at ease when you walk in. I had just finished the Widmer brewery / bridge run & had some seriously achey legs. I got in on her new office offer for $40- which was fabulously cheap & I am going back to see her in a couple weeks. Don't miss out on Portland's newest best kept massage secret.
Pros: great location off Alberta & cozy atmosphere
Cons: none

Prana Llama is the most accepting laid-back healing space I've been to in a long time. She has taken a cabin & made this tranquil studio oasis in Alberta Arts. Jimena always listens & is consistently intuitive; she knows when to apply focused work with great pressure, & when to ease up -adapting to what my body needs that day. I have been going to see her for about a year every two weeks & felt i should write something since I use citysearch all the time & find peoples personal notes quite helpful. She's always professional & informative offering me strecthes & yoga postures to work with. I live near the Alberta Co-op and Tin shed and love this neighboroohd so the the best part is that I can walk to my massages now that she's moved her office to NE Alberta! I highly recommend a soothing visit to Prana llama Mindful Bodywork, I'm certainly hooked.

Pranallama is a must try! I have been back a few times & adore Jimena. She's receptive & genuine. You can tell she loves what she does , very professional & she is just down to earth. I met her and felt at ease; it's not a stuffy sterile spa, it's what she calls the urban bodywork cabin. I loved being in the space she created - a little retreat in the city. She offers lots of styles & plenty o'discounts. I went in for a swedish relaxing flowy massage the first time & left floating down Alberta st to meet a friend for tea. The next time was just after a 10k run and she worked my legs like never before. Great streches and movement, not just an oil bath. I highly recommend you schedule a massage with her. She is a yoga teacher too, so she can explain some things you can do at home to help your healing along. Fantastic!!!
Pros: cool cabin just off Alberta street
Cons: none

I love to get massages & had not been doing it as a routine for sometime. My old therapist moved & I had not found anybody to go & see, so I asked a friends who led me to Prana llama mindful bodywork. Jimena was simply delightful. She was friendly & has a darling cabin-oasis in the Alberta arts district with a peruvian motif. Her style is quite dynamic, she blends some nice relaxing techniques to help you relax with her deep tissue work & yummy aromatherapy. She's also very affordable which never hurts;- nice discounts for her new location & package rates. I do notice a big difference when i get regular massage sessions & was so happy with her work, so I rescheduled for next month & very much look forward to it . check out the prana llama urban bodywork cabin & you won't be sorry! cheers
Pros: great location off Alberta

Jimena gave me the bast massage I've had in years. I moved up from California about 6 months ago & my sister gave me a gift certificate for my birthday, & I simply fell in love with her style. She gave me a fullbody, deep tissue & used some incredible aromatic oils. Her pressure was great; it was relaxing & yet she found all those spots that needed to be stretched & smoothed out. I could hardly get off that super-comfy table & slept better than i had in a long time. Her gift certificate was especially made for birthdays too!
Pros: Friendly service & cozy atmosphere

As a massage therapist, I am very picky when it comes to massage. Prana Llama is one of my favorite places to go. Jimena is very knowledgeable about massage, and I trust her when it comes to treating problem areas. She does great deep tissue work, and I always end up so relaxed at the end of my massage. The studio is very cozy and warm, and there is wonderful padding on the tables. The down blanket is so cozy, I feel like I'm in a cocoon! I highly recommend Prana Llama!
Pros: Close in, fantastic massage!
Cons: None.

prana llama is a lovely place to receive massage and craniosacral bodywork. located in a neat old multilevel home on east burnside, prana llama is a lovely space where you can really relax your body and mind, allowing the full benefit of the treatment to take effect. jimena is always courteous, warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in how her treatment is working for you. she takes her time, remembers what your body issues are, and accommodates her approach according to your specific needs each time you lie on her table. she is a terrific therapist and i routinely recommend her to friends looking for restorative, relaxing bodywork. plus, she is a native bilingual (english/spanish), which is a nice perk for those clients who may have need of that skill. and as if all that weren't enough, there's always a chocolate bite to treat yourself to at massage end - who could ask for anything more? ; )
Pros: ambience, service, skill

I have to compliment Jimena Galvez for her massage therapy skills. I have gone to see her twice and felt incredible relief in my legs both times. I have two jobs involving a lot of standing and lifting-and a very hectic schedule; both times I've called her for appointments she has returned my call promptly and has been able to offer me appointments in the next few days. I exercise early in a.m. & have been able to schedule massages after those workouts - optimum timing! I highly recommend her massages- & if you are an athlete in training it really makes a difference in your recovery time. thanks pranallama
Pros: centrally located

hello there, I'm writing a quick note to recommend Jimena at Prana llama mindful bodywork. She's the best massage therapist I've seen in Portland. I'm a busy mom who is training for her first triathalon & I totally needed some quality leg work. She simply listens to what you ask and provides you with a session that's unique to your requests. I've been to many good therapists who seem to offer a decent massage, but it's really comforting to go to someone who gets right to your concern. She's also a yoga teacher and gave me some great advice on stretching I can do at home. it's nice to leave feeling like you have a tool you can use when that tension creeps on. her office is cozy & warm and she does great work on tired legs. thanks jimena
Pros: easy to find & park, hooray!
Cons: none

I have been to pranallama four times now & have had superb experiences each visit. I went in the first time to just relax and unwind, but realized it had been so since i had a massage long that I could really use another visit. I noticed that JImena was offering a discounted pack of four and decided to get one. I had a swedish with some triggerpoints worked thru, 2 deep tissue sessions, and a craniosacral. she has great techniques that get to those knots & still leave you feeling refreshed. check out pranallama, you won't be disappointed!
Pros: morning & evening available for easy scheduling!
Cons: none
