You can have it all!!

This is the first time that I have written a review, but I feel that strongly about Chef Mader and all that she offers. As a busy mom with two young children, dinner did not come easy for us. Chef Mader changed that. Imagine this...you don't have to think "what is for dinner?", you don't have to run to the grocery store at the last minute, you have more time with your family, and you sit down to a meal that tastes "out of this world", and is healthy!! Do you know how much time she has given back to me? And I haven't even stressed how great her meals tastes....Extraordinary!! Give a gift to yourself, and your family?call her. You can have it all, time with your family and a great dinner to sit down to.
The food looked incredible and tasted even better!

Not only was the food beautifully presented and delicious, but Chef Heather was so gracious to chat with me about some of the dishes. She was kind and fun to talk to. It was pure tastebud heaven!

Heather made our birthday party absolutely AWESOME! Besides being an amazing organizer, recommender of outstanding food and outstanding chef she also has a very warm heart and great way about her. She felt immediately at home in our kitchen which made us relax and feel "at-home" with her there. We can't imagine another event without her being a part of it. We feel blessed that we found Heather and will definitely invite her back!

Black Radish catered my end of fall backyard BBQ, and they made this really delicious grilled tofu for the vegetarian along with the yummy grilled meat. The rub was good enough to make you not taste the ribs. Brittany is super easy to work with and relaxed. Will definitely call her when I need a caterer again.

Flourish creates events for women in Portland to connect socially, enjoy great food and wine, engage in stimulating conversation and hear an interesting and inspiring speaker. Our monthly "salon" events bring together women from all over the area. Chef Mader of the Black Radish catered our August Meditation Salon to rave reviews from all of the women who attended. She not only created an interesting and delicious menu, she made everything from scratch using the wonderful and colorful bounty from our local farmers market! Heather creates interesting, unique and beautiful buffet presentations and understands the diverse dietary needs that occur within a group. She is efficient, dependable and works with your budget to create a WOW experience for your guests. We will be calling on Heather for many more Flourish events and I personally recommend her highly for catering or as your own personal chef.

I hope that Chef Mader is able to have as good of a party as she prepared for me a few months ago. The food she prepared for my guests was delectable and enjoyed by all.

Yes, the final bill was more than the estimated cost. Its hard to estimate food costs that many months in advance in this highly fluctuating economy! Still, I am glad that you enjoyed the party as much as I enjoyed making those wonderful crabcakes your husband could not get enough of! :)

Our family hired Heather a couple months ago to prepare meals for our aging mom whose doctors had recently given her some dietary restriction. Heather has been incredible in accommodating Mom's special food needs, offering her own suggestions and insights from years of experience in handling similar situations. Heather has an impressive work ethic; arriving promptly, working efficiently, leaves the kitchen spotless, and the freezer filled with an incredibly variety of awesome meals! The chicken enchiladas are one of Mom's favorites! And the stew, and the Thai Chicken, and the..... Okay, she loves ALL of it! Along with being a great personal chef in terms of what she produces, Heather is an engaging person who makes those "business interactions" friendly and enjoyable.

Black Radish was recommended to me after I decided that I didn't want to go on yet another diet but actually make some lasting changes. Because I live alone and have a very busy schedule I never cooked for myself and ate fast food or take out for most meals. Chef Heather has been very accomadating and attentive to my requests. Having this service is like having elves come and make meals; the only sign that Chef Heather has been there is a freezer full of delicious food and the lingering smell of home cooking. I have lost 22 pounds since 4th of July and never feel like I am dieting, the meals are so satisfying. I can not recommend Black Radish highly enough; it has been everything I hoped for and more.

We decided to use our baby shower gift money to give ourselves a break when the baby was born and not worry about cooking! ...and that was 6 months ago and there's no end in sight! We absolutely love Black Radish's service and of course the amazing dinners we eat every night! Chef Mader is also very creative with the quirky diet of a new mom. Chef Mader is a warm, wonderful person who is an exceptional personal chef.

Our small business has had the privilege of recently having a full meal provided by Heather at Black Radish ? we'd been working a lot of long hours and so we were hoping for something really good to keep us going during a particularly grueling project.
Heather treated us with a meal of enchiladas that simply defied description. I speak for everyone here at our office when I say that this was the single most delicious meal we have had here in a long, long time. We regularly go out to some pretty amazing local restaurants to keep troop moral high but nothing (and I mean nothing!) in recent memory compared to what Heather and Black Radish provided for us. I can't overstate how simply awesome her food is.
I would highly recommend Black Radish without hesitation for both personal chef services and corporate functions. While a great many caterers out there are simply so-so or 'pretty good', food from Black Radish stands alone as mind-blowing - yes, you read that right MIND-BLOWING. Treat your employees right and have Black Radish do your catering from now on - you'll be so addicted and impressed that I guarantee you'll want to try Black Radish personal chef services at your home too. Portland has a lot of caterers and personal chefs, Black Radish sets the bar for everyone else, hands down.
- Pros: Amazing Food, Amazing Service, Amazing Friendly Smile - Best of Class is an Understatement.
