I was skeptical at first, you know, no equipment? I am not so into yoga and have never meditated in my life, but make no mistake- this is a workout that will use every ounce of focus and every iota of endurance. I barely picked up a weight and could barely wash my hair the next day. I was so deconditioned and misaligned that is was a shock to see how things worked when I exercised properly. Somehow yoga was a part of it and I never even knew. It was very non-intrusive. Drea has a knack for introducing something foriegn and making it easy to understand. I recommend this place and Drea as a trainer because I feel exellent after each session. I am positive any one can benefit from this.

Pros: I have lost 20lbs and can touch my toes

Cons: I live in Hillsboro

Don't forget that the credit really belongs to you! I showed you proper technique and helped facilitate a new idea about your body, but your dedication was the key- its admirable. You commute after 12hr days and then bust your hooha for an hour! Your willingness to change your diet, your sense of grounding and ability to adapt really worked for you in this process!! Besides, skepticism is healthy and shows intention. I could have been a total cookoo- never know:) hahahahahaha

My favorite thing about this work has been the variety of methods used. It is really amazing the way Western Medicine, Herbal medicine, Yoga and Personal training can work together to be both therapeutic and dynamic. Drea's background sure comes through and she has taught me so much about how to use my structure to my advantage in a workout. She also helps me relax with meditation. My first session she went through a full intake that covered questions about my dreams, diet and emotional state in addition to the normal questions about fitness experience. From there she custom created a program to assist me in a completely holistic way. I recieved treatment as well as a good solid kick in the body fat pants! If you are looking for a place to workout and want personalized attention, no gym atmosphere, zero equipment and you want a new relationship with your body...Kaninga is the place. There is no where else on earth like it:)

Pros: very much worth every cent

Cons: ummmm, nope

My favorite thing about working with you is the variety of excuses you manage to conjure up out of the depths of your imagination:) It is quite an enlightening experience- the one about your shoelaces though- takes the cake! Seriously, thank you for your fun, original flavor. And the great comments. Now, I have to make sure they don't go to my head:/

Working out with Drea has been more than great for body conditioning and flexibility- I have learned a lot about how I relate to movement and how I feel in my skin. It has been therapeutic, actually, to have such a skilled and multidisciplinary mentor. Drea has a medical background as well as fitness, dance and herbs. She helped me break down my diet into elements- from a Chinese medicine perspective and figure out a way that I could eat better with out making it a chore. More than that I laughed harder than I have in a long time. Drea, you rock sista! Open your new studio!!! Hurry!!!

I have been working with Drea for several months now, and I find her approach to fitness and health to be a perfect fit for me. I knew I wanted something more than your traditional grunt and burn fitness program, and while Drea does incorporate some traditional training methods, she more often uses a variety of yoga, kickboxing, dance, and body resistance for cardio and strength workouts. She has proved to me that you can still have an extremely intense and completely workout without the use of all that fancy cardio and strength equipment that you would find at the gym. She is also helping me gain a sense of physical balance – I have very flat feet and poor posture which over the years has become a negative strain on my body. We do a lot of corrective exercises and movements which have greatly helped my body learn how to carry itself correctly. My core feels stronger than ever and my balance has improved tremendously. I think what makes Drea really stand out is that she really emphasizes the spiritual aspect of fitness and how it connects the body and mind. She always explains the purpose of each exercise movement and guides you through the proper technique. At the end of each intense fitness session, she always brings me to an equally intense state of relaxation with a short session of Shiatsu massage and realignment techniques. I always walk away from our sessions feeling very accomplished and peaceful. So if you’re looking for a more holistic approach to fitness or if you’re on the search for a trainer you can really connect with, then you might want to check this out!
