Smoky, moist, and delicious.

Solid BBQ, and trust me, I've had my fair share of good and bad BBQ. They have $1 sandwiches with a pork/brisket/sauce combination on a hamburger bun, and is better than anything you can find for that value. Their pulled pork is possibly the best I've had. The pork ribs were great. The brisket was decent. The texas style sandwiches carry a hefty price of $10 (for just the sandwich) but they are large and in charge and could feed 2 people. They also have $7 sandwiches if you want something cheaper. The sauce always depends on personal taste, it's more sweet than spicy (which I like) but I love it. The sides could be better, however. The slaw, macaroni, and potato solids are all good, but the beans had a little too much chili flavor, but I still finished them and the corn bread should be served warm. The guy Charles that r uns the place is a real nice guy, I plan on taking advantage of the little patio area this summer.
- Pros: Meats are delicious, large portions, friendly service.
- Cons: Sides could be better.
I didnt want to use utensils!

Delicious Texas Pit BBQ, catered a family meal event for a group of NG soldier and we were on a tight budget. They worked with us and the food was amazing. I never had brisket before but now I am sold. I would recommend them over and over again. THANK YOU!
- Pros: Food, Service and did I mention Food
- Cons: none
Good BarBQ
by ldgage
The sausage links were very good and the best part of the meal. Their brisket is more like roast beef, so I suspect it spends more time in the oven than the smoker, but I didn't ask. The pecan pie is tolerable, but not as good as what they serve up at Buster's.
- Pros: Large portions, good for sharing. Sausage links.
- Cons: limited seating

Delicious!

I've been to Delicious BBQ twice, and will come again. It's delicious, just like the name says. All the businesses nearby must go crazy smelling that wonderful smoky meat cooking every morning. The pulled pork is especially good, as good as or better than I've ever had. Charles must have an awesome top-secret recipe. On the day I had it, the brisket was dry--I'll give it another try. The sausage and spare ribs were quite yummy. Normally, BBQ sausage is tough, but there it was tender, not overcooked, and not overwhelmingly fatty. Delicious is supposed to be "southern style", so the sauce is on the sweet side. If you're only going to have one sauce, this is a good one because it works with the meats. By the way, about the quantity of sauce--if you need a little more, the staff will gladly comply.
My favorite sides (so far) are the potato salad and macaroni salad. I didn't really care for the cole slaw. Can't wait to try the others.
The service was good--quick, pleasant, and professional. My order both times was exactly what it was supposed to be.
It's mostly for takeout, but there is a small outdoor seating area during good weather.
See my complete review of Delicious and other BBQ eateries at BBQPDX on blogspot.
- Pros: Awesomely delicious BBQ, inexpensive.
- Cons: Mostly for takeout, not a sit-down type restaurant.
Good sauce.

Hi.
Im a sw portlander, who was happy as all get out to see a brother bring his barbeq to the sw. I greedly bought a combo (two meats) for myself.
First of all, they did not include the piece of bread/muffin that i was suppose to have. The brisket that I got was freakin fatty. I couldnt eat this. There was more fat/grismism/ than meat. I couldnt chew the substance. I definitely pick over the meat. Not much there today. The chicken thighleg was dry, like it was from yesterday batch and they just reheated it. The sauce was OK. You definitely wanted more sauce to chomp thur the brisket that was tough and fatty.
It was the first time I stop by. Ive been debating everyday ever sense, as I drive by two times a day five days aweek about going there again. And as a black man , I love barbeq. I dont know about this shop.
One suggesion: Have your female counter people "smile" and say "hello" or something to new customers. My first impression before I even ordered the food was, these women dont want to here or I was brothering them. And it showed. Its probably why my first food experience at this joint was less than good. And why I havent been back since as I drive by everyday five days a week.
- Pros: sauce
- Cons: Not enough meat in brisket.
Outstanding BBQ

We had them cater the meats for our office BBQ. The price was more than reasonable and the meats were so moist and flavorful. I was worried the brisket would be dry but it was fantastic. along with pulled pork and smoked chicken. Everyone Loved the meats. We will definately go there again for parties and meals. I am very picky about BBQ Sauce but I loved it too! Great Service and Great Food!
- Pros: Flavor and Service
- Cons: sides
Texas BBQ'd Fat
by djbrook
Like many others who live in SW Portland, I was happy to see Texas BBQ set up a more permanent home. Today was the first time that I had the opportunity to stop in. I ordered a regular size beef brisket sandwich. What I got looked good, but for $10.00, I think it should have come with a side. Inside the Styrofoam box sat a Costco roll (the kind they serve their hot dogs on. Nothing wrong with the roll. I mention it so readers can judge the size) well piled with thick chunks of delicately burned brisket covered in just enough sauce. It smelled great. Then I bit in. The first bite was 90% fat and so were many of the remaining bites. I couldn't swallow that bite and didn't want to. I removed it from my mouth to salvage what little real meat remained. When I was done, I looked at the disgusting pile of suet and realized that about 1/3rd of the brisket that was on my sandwich was inedible. The few pieces that came from the bottom, single cut were tasty, smoky and similar in spirit to Texas BBQ that I've had in Texas. Texas BBQ, please teach your help how to trim the fat.
- Pros: The wood smoke aroma is a big draw
- Cons: Either skip the brisket or ask them to make the sandwich lean.
Mediocre at best...

I am guessing that the people who reviewed this place are either very close friends of the owners or have never eaten decent BBQ, but this place is not very good at all. The side dishes are pre-made bulk food right off the back of a Cisco truck. The so-called "Texas beans" were just canned chili beans. The greens I got were utterly unflavored - they were just over boiled greens with two hunks of meat in them, and no salt, no vinegar, nothing. My friend's potato salad was obviously from a box. The pork ribs I got were OK, with decent flavor and good smoking, but the sauce they were in was a corn syrup based sauce that was obviously not homemade. My dining partner's chicken was "dry dry dry" according to him. The bread my order was supposed to some with was missing. Decent BBQ and sides are not hard to make from scratch, I have absolutely no idea why anyone would slop this stuff out and hope to make customers happy.
- Pros: OK meat
- Cons: The sides, missing items in the order
Best BBQ in the Portland Area. Try it!!!!
by diddyd
We're so excited that "Delicious Texas Pit BBQ & Catering" now has a permanent home on Beaverton-Hillsdale HIghway. The barbequed brisket and tri-tip sandwiches are incredibly delicious, tender, moist and the servings are LARGE. And, Charles is SUCH a nice guy. His barbeque is honestly the best that we've found in the Portland area. Try it and see!!!!
- Pros: The best BBQ around.
- Cons: It's probably fattening because the servings are huge. But, it's worth it.
