Fabulous!!

I bought my wedding dress a size to big because my measurements were in between a 10 and a 12. Before I had my dress altered the bust didn't fit at ALL, it rumpled around the butt and was to long. I also asked Tatyana to lower the back panel so that my back showed and then to do a bustle on the dress. She did an amazing job on all of it and in no time at all!! She even made sure that we knew how to lace it up and then do the bustle so that it looked the best that it could. She was amazing and my dress was amazing! I never stepped on it on my wedding day or even had to tighten the laces on the back because she made it fit so perfectly. My bustle was gorgeous and the dress was amazing after she was done with it. I can not say enough good things about Tatyana and her alterations, not to mention the fact that I think she is a wonderful person too!!

Fast, expert work!

Like many others, I found Tatyana via CitySearch. My employer is hosting a black-tie anniversary fundraiser gala that I am invited to, so I bought a dress online without trying it on. When it arrived, it was too long, even with heels on, and was too loose/wide in the bust - it just didn't fit quite right. I called Tatyana on a Monday and made an appointment with her for Wednesday evening, with her husband giving me excellent directions to their house (using Google Maps street view is helpful too, since her house can be a tad tricky to find) . As soon as I put the dress on, Tatyana knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. Two days later, I was surprised to get a call from Tatyana letting me know that my dress was ready. I picked it up this evening and when I tried it on, it fit perfectly! Tatyana's expert alterations transformed it from a dress that looked awkward on me to a dress that fits perfectly and looks like it was made for me.

Tatyana's a sweet lady and her prices are very reasonable. I'm the maid of honor in my sister's wedding in November and am getting married myself next July, and I will be bringing both of those dresses to Tatyana for her expert alterations.

Excellent!!!

I brought my grandmothers wedding dress to Tatiyana in hopes of making a few (kind of major) alterations. I would like to start by saying that this dress is from 1943 and was worn by my grandmother and great-aunt so obviously it means a lot to me. She took off the sleeves, completely altered the back, made a bustle as well as some other minor alterations while still keeping the original beauty completely in tact. Since this dress is so old, it all was a very delicate procedure. She made it PERFECT! My grandmother cried when she saw pictures of it and said it was beautiful! Thank you so much Tatiyana you made my ideal dress a reality. You are the best!

I would also like to add that she is a very kind lady and you can tell that she LOVES to help women create their perfect dress. Thanks again!

Wonderful!

Tatyana was wonderful! I ordered my dress a little big and needed it taken in at the bust, waist, and a little at the hips. She made these alterations quickly and the dress fits perfectly. When trying the dress on after she made the alterations, she made sure that it fit me well and that everything was perfect. I can easily tell that she put a lot of thought into making the bustle look pretty when it is "buttoned" up. Additionally, she fixed the top of my dress which was uneven when it came in from the designer. She did a great job and I'm really looking forward to wearing my gown on my wedding in a week and a half! She also charges very reasonable prices for the alterations, is very sweet, and cares a lot about the customer and the finished product!

A big disaster

When I first met with Tatyana I wasreally happy-she was very accomodating and made the alterations really quickly. However, when I picked up the dress I was not sure that the alterations were right (and there was a bit of a language barrier). I felt like the alterations made a beautiful dress look tacky but I was not sure. When I showed my mom the dress she was horrified with the changes. I brought the wedding dress to another person to be pressed before the wedding and she said that many of the alterations had been done poorly! She had to redo the bustle, the bust, and the front of the dress. She also said that most people don't realize what good and bad alterations are. The dress fit and looked much better after the alterations by this other person. All in all, something that I thought had saved time wound but costing me extra money and double the time!!

She is AMAZING!!!!!

She did work on my wedding dress that was quick, incredibly reasonably priced and most importantly FLAWLESS! I had asked another seamstress to work on my dress and was told that what I wanted done was "impossible." When I read about Tatyana, I called her made an appointment and it was fixed in no time! She is a miracle worker!!!!

dress disaster averted

when i first started looking for dresses, i balked at the cost of the styles that i liked. no way was i spending thousands of dollars on a dress for one day. so i took a chance and had a dress made over the internet "inspired" by the designer gown i didn't want to buy. i am sure you can see where this is going...

the dress was a disaster - too big in some spots, too small in others, way too long, wonky seams, stains, you name it. tatyana bent over backward to help me out with this dress. she had to completely remake the top (using lace cut from the hem), hem it, take it in, let it out, etc. she even had to rip out the whole lining and remake it twice. the only reason it had to be done twice was that i realized the fabric originally used was totally non breathable and ridiculously hot. when i was freaking out about what to put under it instead, she actually went to the fabric store with me to help me pick something more appropriate!

and then, after all that, i ended up going and buying a ridiculously expensive designer lace dress that was what i wanted. even though tatyana did an amazing job fixing all the problems with the original dress, it just wasn't what i wanted (not her fault). plus, it had so much negative energy and stress associated with it, that i just didn't even want to deal with it.

the beautiful new dress needed some minor alterations, so i took it to her. at first i was scared to tell her i had bought another dress, after everything she had done - i would have been annoyed at me. but she was so nice about it and did the work happily. i was so nervous to have it altered - just because it was so perfect, and so expensive - but she did an awesome job! and she fixed it in under a week!

lessons learned: don't have a dress made over the internet. go see tatyana if you have a wedding dress disaster!

Very quick turn around

I had a month before my wedding and had yet to have the dress altered or bustled. I found Tatyana on Citysearch and called to set up an appt for that week. Her husband gave good directions, although I still passed the driveway. With his directions I knew I had missed it and knew I needed to go back. The fitting was very quick. She obviously knew what she was doing and what would look good. Her hemming was perfect for my outdoor setting and although my hem was stepped on multiple times, I was never dragging it around. I would recommend her to anyone that needs professional, reasonably priced alterations done with a limited time frame. Everyone said I looked wonderful and my dress was perfect. She even offered to steam the dress before the wedding, but I couldn't take her up on it as she is across town from my residence. She had told me she would call when things were ready in a week to five days. I was very surprised to have her call two days later and set up a final fitting. Much quicker than I was expecting! Her work was definitely worth the drive!

Tatyana does amazing work!

I knew before my dress arrived that it would need to be altered around my waist and chest. The bridal salon said that they had someone they recommended, but being the type of person who likes to weigh ALL of her options I started doing some research online. After reading all the fabulous reviews on citysearch I decided that Tatyana was really good and was surprised to learn that she was also the recommended seamstress from my bridal salon.

I had no problem understanding Tatyana on the phone or finding her house with the very detailed directions that she gave me. She got right to work as soon as I arrived pinning and measuring. By the end I was surprised how affordable it was and felt completely and totally comfortable leaving my dress in her hands.

The alterations took only 2 weeks and look amazing. Tatyana was able to take my extremely delicate (or "tender" as she called it!) lace dress and take it in to make it look like it was cut to fit me. It looks better than I could have ever imagined!

Silk, satin, lace, crinoline...she is obviously an expert with all of these delicate and hard to work with fabrics. she makes it look like no work has been done at all. don't trust anyone else with your dress!
