What users are saying:
a little disappointing
by nisreenmommy at Citysearch
I first heard good things about this place and it is a nice salon. But it is a little expensive. When I booked my appt. the girl on the phone told me she was new so it took a little longer than should be expected. Then the owner called the next day to ask me what form of payment I would be using, which I thought waws a little strange. (maybe their visa machine was down?) Then they called to confirm the day before and said they would need to rescedule part of my appt. because lack of staff. I would reccommend this salon if you have a lot of time on your hands. But if you want to book a appt. beware they appear to be quite unorganized. Needless to say I wont be going back and am warning my friends about this salon. It all seemed a little shady.
- Pros: lots of parking
- Cons: staff seemed unorganized. A little too much pressure for sales
Hidden treasure!!!

I took my first trip to Avenue Salon Spa a few weeks ago. I was first totally amazed at how beautiful and spacious the inside of the building was. There were many different rooms with privacy for massage, skin care, and waxing. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Holly cut my hair, waxed my eyebrows, and did a fabulous job. I'm definitely looking forward to my next experience at Avenue Salon Spa, and will be recommending my friends and colleagues share the same experience.
- Pros: Clean, friendly, professional, relaxing.
- Cons: Location (worth the drive though).
I love this salon

I started to go to Avenue Hair Design and Nails about 1 month ago. Holly does my hair and she is very friendly and cuts it like I want. I like this salon because of the friendly atmosphere that owner Zoraida and staff gives when you walk through the door. They are also very knowledgable about the products that they are using and recommending. I have been to other salons in the Portland Area and do not get this feeling. I would recommend this salon to anyone who asks and will for sure be going back .
- Pros: fast and friendly
Best Kept Beauty Secret in Beaverton
by Ravenrose at Citysearch
I've been seeing owner Zoraida Hopkins for Bio-Ionic thermal straightening since 2003. The process leaves my hair silky straight, and beautifully conditioned. So manageable! Lasts and lasts! Truly a permanent solution to unruly waves and curls.
Watching Zoraida grow this business has been fascinating, and it just keeps getting better.
The latest edition has a calm, clean, and understatedly elegant ambiance, with an open feeling of space, and yet, a comforting sense of privacy in each of the various treatment rooms.
Zoraida really cares about the quality of your experience, and is careful about hiring well-trained quality staffers, as well as being very well qualified, and talented herself.
I had a great facial from Christine Senseman, who is impressively fluent in describing, explaining, and using Aveda's line of high quality, organic beauty products. I was amazed at how clean, soft, and dewy my skin was after the facial she gave me. I have that difficult type of middle-aged skin that is dry, but troubled with acne as well. In the past , facials weren't always much help, and sometimes felt like a waste of money. I have had to be careful that the wrong product didn't make my sensitive skin blemish, and become blotchy. Not so here! I was very pleased at the beautiful results, which were also remarkably long lasting. I'm planning to go back soon and regularly, for a brightening facial (to reduce some of my sun damage), a massage, a mani/pedi, and much more. Aveda Rocks!!!
I'm glad to have this wonderful salon/spa as a partner in my ongoing quest for beauty and style. Thank you Avenue Salon Spa!
- Pros: Skilled, knowledgeable, friendly Owner and Staff
- Cons: Can be a bit expensive, but you're worth it!
Not a good place for nails!
by Jenw at Citysearch
My friend and I decided to get manicures and since this was the only Aveda location answering their phones we went here. Big mistake. I asked for a spa manicure and received the basic. Not a big deal. I asked for oval, I got square. I received the base coat, and 2 coats of color and top coat back to back with absolutely no dry time in between. Two nails were messed up before I even got out of the chair. Instead of redoing the nail she just wiped off the messed up part and attempted to touch it up. Completely obvious. By that night my nails were all chipped and it looked like they had grown out because they weren't polished all the way to the cuticle. I was also sporting nails with a ton of dents in the polish from the coats not drying enough in between. My friend got french tips that were not straight and walked out with white nail polish all over her fingers. Safe to say we won't be coming back.
- Pros: nice staff
- Cons: price, quality
Excellent experience

I followed my favorite long-time hair stylist Kellian to Avenue Salon and I was in recently to inquire about eyelash services. The staff was intelligent, informative and provided me with options. I chose to have my eyelashes permanently curled (I didn't even know this existed). It was awesome! Now I wake up every morning with already curled lashes. I have also made an appointment with Christine for a facial, and look forward to the results. I have met with her already and am doing what I can to improve my skin at home before my service.
They have several services ranging from massage, to manicures, to hair services - there are packages too.
I highly recommend the eyelash perm and look forward to my next service at this beautifully remodled salon.
excellent spa and wonderful staff!

Coming from a spa working environment and wanting to find a new location to start off and find people who can actually do hair is a challenge. But when I found this wonderful salon I was ecstatic. Not only did the owner make me feel a great connection when I called, but made it even more to believe when she called me back to fit me in her busy schedule to do my hair. I brought my twin sister for a birthday present and she made it a wonderful experience for us to enjoy and was very personable. Was able to make my dark hair look very golden brown, and my sister with a vibrant dark chocolate with a tint of red. Uses rich and organic colors that actually last! The eustachian on staff was just as wonderful...just the whole atmosphere of the spa was awesome and beautiful. The whole experience has made me a client of theirs for a long time. I would recommend it to anyone who just moved here and has yet to feel that connection at any salon, this is the one to go to!
LOVE this place!

It's about time there was an upscale salon in the Beaverton area. Not only is the staff friendly, but the place is BEAUTIFUL. I went in for a hair cut, eyebrow wax and facial. Sure, I paid more than some might expect but it was WORTH EVERY PENNY. Besides - they don't hide their pricing - it's all spelled out on their website to avoid anyone being "shocked". I got pampered and treated like royalty! For someone who is picky about their hair, I couldn't have been happier.
If you're looking for a cheap hair cut, don't come here. But, if you want quality service by talented staff and the best products in the world (Aveda), this is THE place!
- Pros: Clean, good parking, excellent service.
- Cons: Some minor remodeling going on
Bad experience
by sunny12345679 at Citysearch
I went in once for a cut, had tea, and a pretty nice experience, although I was shocked to pay so much. When I made the next appointment the owner promised me a treatment which she would pay for, for the first time I got it. I let her know that I didn't have much money, and she reassured me she would cover the first time. I thought that it would be ok. I went back, and not only did she charge me for the treatment, but she gave me a lopsided hair cut. One side too long, and the other had more layers. I had to get it fixed, and even then it was not even! She is nice. I don't know what was wrong that day, but with the bad hair cut and the high cost I won't be going back.
Organized, clean, professional, non-discriminating
by snowbird567 at Citysearch
I have to admit, I went in to get highlights last week, and looked a bit rough around the edges! I'm a student and don't have the time or money to go to the salon as often as I should. Not a problem; the stylist was really sweet and appropriately chatty (she was new, and did a WONDERFUL job!) and the owner was there to check her work and make sure that my experience was enjoyable. It was topped off by a great hair cut, a free hand massage, and an offer for a make-up "finishing touch" (free), which I declined. It doesn't matter how you look when you go in; this place is truly non-discriminating and will give you the royal treatment!!!
- Pros: High quality service and product, monthly specials, caring and attentive owner
- Cons: Some sales pressure on products
