a breath of fresh air

You know how you feel when you go to a new auto shop for the first time? Nervous about how many ways they can gouge you? I had these same feelings when I finally decided to have my car detailed at Fresh Start Auto Detail in Beaverton. The manager put all my fears to rest by taking the time to inspect my car wih me and patiently answering all my (I'm sure dumb to him) questions. So I left to car with them and drove their loaner car (a BMW!) to work. I was excited to see the end result but after talking to co-workers they told me horror stories of when they got their cars detailed before. I guess it's common to get those buffer swirls marks in your paint and also to get in your car and it will be all wet from the cleaning process. (One co-workers car actually had standing water in the carpets after he had it detailed!) Needless to say I was once again nervous to see what may be happening to my car! Well the manager called and said it was ready and as I pulled into their parking lot I could see my car shining beter then new! Certainly no buffer swirls. I peeked my head inside and wow. It was nothing like my co-workers described. It was clean, DRY! I now have a shop I trust. I even ask the manager for references on other car businesses.

• Cons: not cheap but worth it, far to drive from E Portland but loaner car made it better

Extremely high quality work

Fresh Start did a wonderful detail job on my '99 Miata yesterday. The many scratches and dings on the hood and bumpers from years of enjoyment are barely noticeable now, and I had no idea my wheels could be so shiny! The interior is spotless. I thought I kept a pretty clean car, but I was embarrassed to see how much stuff they found underneath and behind the seats.

Jason did a walkthrough of the work with me before and after, so I knew exactly what was done. It's clear that his team takes pride in their work, and they do an excellent job at it. Well worth the cost.

Impressed!

I brought my black 528i to Fresh Start last week and am totally happy with the job they did, thought it was a fair price. My intent was to get it cleaned up and sell it but they made it look so nice I fell in love with it all over again and am keeping it. I will be bringing my wifes car to them next.

Outstanding service

Jason and his crew at Fresh Start Detail are awesome! The work they performed during my first visit turned out better than I expected. I'm also very pleased with the 2nd service they recently completed, which consisted of a thorough cleaning / waxing inside and out. I strongly recommend FSD!

Best Service, Best Price, Your only choice!

They were absolutely the best. They were timely, maintained solid consistent communication, and took a sincere interest in my concerns and commetns about the quality of service I expected to recieve. When my car detail was finished, they mey all my expectations and more. The quality of work was unparalleled, cone just ahead of time, and better than I could have imagined.

I will never go anywhere else, and would only recommend them to anyone.

Also, their prices are so fair, I can afford to take my car and other cars there regularly as needed.

These guys were the best. Absoluetly the BEST!

• Cons: With high quality comes a busy business, so visit them during the slower season to make scheduling easier (winter and early spring).

Excellent and professional service.

I was about an hour early for my appointment but Jason made time for me and performed my engine steam clean promptly within the hour. The work was complete and thorough. I was very impressed with Fresh Detail's outstanding customer service and quality of work. I'll be back soon for the underside cleaning!

Another satisfied customer

I have a heavily modified Subaru STi that I am very fussy about. I was looking for a detail shop that offered clay bar service and Fresh Start Detail was one of the few that openly advertised it and explained it on their website. I drove into Fresh Start wanting more information, especially concerning the tree sap that was all over my car. Jason explained that clay barring it was the perfect solution and that the car would look and feel like it had never been after the service. To make a long story short, I was completely satisfied with every aspect of my detail including the engine bay and interior that only needed a swiff.

I would not hesitate to take my car back to Jason and Fresh Start again and again and would highly recommend their services to my friends. Are they the most inexpensive? Probably not. But when you count the cost of complete customer satisfaction and not having to worry about your car in the hands of amateurs, it's a pice that I would gladly pay as part of my annual maintenance.

Very friendly and affordable

Stumbled over this place purely by chance. After talking with Jason a few times got good vibes so I entrusted them to polish the paint out on my Ferrari. I wanted the spider webbing taken out of the paint and he was honest up front and told me that it would be improved, but not completely gone. This would have been a good chance for him to give me a false claim/sales pitch but he was honest and did not do so. He also noticed several flaws in the paint that I had never before noticed. I also figured I'd get a little bit of the "Ferrari price adjustment" but they were very honest and charged me about half of what a normal exotic detailer would charge. When I got the car back the spider webbing can still be seen (as he previously informed me) but was very much improved. The paint finish now beams and has that wet look that I was after. They also made some of the rock chips practically vanish when they corrected some of the terrible touch up paint spots (extra charge for that, but one should already assume this). They waxed the wheels to a condition I have never seen them before. When I was picking up my car I mentioned 1 or 2 TINY things (slight smudge on the clear bra and a drip of water on the door) and Jason jumped into action took care of them without hesitating.

Might not take a true show car there for polishing (or would tell them to have their entire shop focus on just my car.... and then would expect the appropriately high bill) but for 99.999% of the cars out there they do MORE THAN adequate work.

Those folks who say they are over priced simply have not shopped around enough.

Will have to take some of my other vehicles in there next??

Hot Chocolate Spill? No Problem!

I highly recommend taking your car to Fresh Start Detail Co. They really seem to take pride in the work that they do, and they also seem to sincerely care about what their customer?s needs are. They were able to completely clean up a spill that involved about a third of a tall cup of hot chocolate, and thankfully, they were able to take my car the day that it happened. They were professional, had a positive, friendly attitude, and their price was reasonable. Thank you, Jacob and Jason!

This place is horrible. I brought my ride in there a couple months ago and they did a terrible job for a high price. Way to high. I could have paid half of what I did somewhere else and my car would have looked a lot better. I got ripped off. How could anyone say this shack did a good job. Go somewhere else unless you like to waste money.

Nodds Review, Beaverton's Community Website

I was lucky enough to get a tour of their garage and was impressed with all the equipment. Not only did they have a lift in order to bring a car up to eye level, but they had all sorts of machines and devices to clean, buff, polish and wash. From undercarriage protection to a steam-cleaned engine and of course exterior and interior, all could be done right there in their well lighted controlled environment. High quality and professionalism are the norm for the Fresh Start team and this to me was readily apparent. But perhaps the one point that made me happy to hear was that they are DEQ certified and environmentally responsible. Green is good.

So later that day I went back with my wife to pick up her Honda. In a word... wow! They did not disappoint and easily lived up to their reputation. Many of the scratches to the paint were buffed out, the tires and wheels sparkled but what really stood out was the interior: it not only looked like a new car, it smelled like a new car! They took a toothbrush to the moldings, detail brushes to the interior, pressure washed everything, steam cleaned the carpets, got tree sap off the top and road tar off the bottom but best of all, not a dog hair in sight! So yes I'm a happy customer and not only will I go back.
