REO'S IS TOTALLY OVER PRICED ! THE SERVICE IS LAZY OR RUDE. AND THE SIDES HAVE NO FLAVOR, OR BURNED... SMELLS GOOD WHEN YOU DRIVE BY THOUGH !

Pros: SMELLS GREAT !

Cons: OVER RATED ..

I went to Reo's because the place is closer to me then Yam Yam's out on NE MLK. However what I found was the drive to Yam Yam's is worth it. I being from the deep south I wanted Greens Collard Greens, I have never had greens that tasted so bad WAY WAY WAY to much hot sauce, just because it sets your tongue on fire does not make it good. I am used to greens being flavored with ham hock and I have never in my life had greens that the juice was slimmy like when you make boiled okra and the cat fish is spicy hot as well and $16.00 a pound, just so you know you can buy catfish for $4.00 a pound in any grocery store. My point is if you want good "soul food" Yam Yams can not be beat, as for Reo's ribs and BBQ yes dry and not very much meat on them. I will never go again, I will always from now on take the drive to Yam Yam's

Pros: There are no Pros

Cons: Crappy overly spiced up food-- set your tongue on fire spicy hot

Need I say more??? The brisket is yummmmmm oooooooooh. My 12 yr. old daughter, who is the pickiest of eaters, couldn't get enough of the BBQ. She even said she wanted to hug the man who made it. That's saying A LOT. We got the variety plate and while it was all good....it was the brisket that won us over. My daughter loved the mac and cheese too. Even got an extra side to take home for her to eat later. Had our first taste of sweet potato pie....it was awesome. The restaurant itself is nothing special....It matters not when you get a plate of brisket!!

Pros: Holy Brisket

Cons: decor needs updating.

If you want real southern BBQ, you have to go to Reo's Ribs! Ignore the bad comments that other people left, they just aren't used to these types of restaurants. No, its not flashy and brand new, its not supposed to be! It's BBQ people! Its all about the food, and the food is AMAZING! The corn bread is to die for! You won't need butter or honey for this stuff! My family and I have had it several times and every time has been wonderful with consistently yummy food! Use them for your next house party, superbowl, or whatever. We did and it was perfect! You gotta eat here!

Yeah, the place is ugly. Sure, it's been on Dirty Dining. I agree, the service is slow. Potato salad is kinda soupy. And I am not a fan of Snoop Dogg. All that being said.... the Brisket is AMAZING! I love it, it is worth all the other stuff. I don't eat there often. It is expensive considering the lack of ambience. But that Brisket is just plain 'ol yummmmmmmm.

Pros: Brisket, brisket, brisket

Cons: everything other than the brisket

Smells like bbq? But---. The parking lot is your first clue to not get out of your car (It looks like a seen from the movie deliverance). The grills smoke but they are filthy. The wood strewn about is of many different speicies,at least most of it looked like some kind of hardwood? I was not sure wich run down (building?) to enter at first, then I seen some people exit a door. So we went in (second mistake). No one helped us with ordering or seating. In fact no one even noticed we came in? After a few awkward minutes we went to the counter where a women was talking on the phone. She continued to ignor us. I finaly spotted what looked like a menu printed on a single piece of plane white paper. After about ten minutes the counter person made enough eye contact with me for me to place our order (third mistake)!. 1hr and 15 min after ordering, our (food?) got plopped down on the table not a word spoken. I will just describe my cullinary experiance (sampler plate). There was supossed to be 5 differant kinds of meat? Well there was only 5 pices on the plate and two of them were burnt chicken leggs. The rest were fat, greasy, stringy, chewy, crusty, gristly, mostly bone and not much flavor. The sides were small and not any better quality. In short that was 2 hours of my life I wish I could do over? I will never go back! When you drive by and smell the smoke, just remember that is the best part of reos ribs.

Pros: smell

Cons: everything else

The food here was below average. The Ribs themselves had very little meat on the bone. Not to mention the meat was very hard to get off the bone and when you did it was dry. The BBQ sauce did not have a good flavor or good choices of flavors. (Applebees and Chili's is better) Sides were nothing great, I have a wife who is not picky about very many things but she did not like any of the sides, corn, beans or the cornbread. It is expensive and just not worth the stomach ache.

Pros: Pictures of his family

Cons: flavor of the food, dirty, value

When you walk in the door you see a semi-collage of pictures of Reo and his family. I think he is Snoop Dogg's uncle as I recall, but anyway. I am here to review the food, right. I love the candied yams, the best I have ever eaten the brisket is tasty and the sides are fine. I believe that because it is no frills the people below reviewed as poor. Looks aren't everything.

Like most of you, we tried it because the smell is always so good when driving by. We went right before closing on a week day and decided to try one of their samplers along with the Cobbler and Sweet potato pie for dessert. We have been looking for a good bbq place for quite some time and were hoping this would be it. Unfortunately, it wasn't. The meal was pretty sad, and they were out of ribs. At the time we chocked it up to being close to closing time. The desserts were pretty horrible. I admit I'm a bit critical of desserts cause I'm a baker but I can appreciate a lovely simple piece of pie that's homemade, in fact I enjoy it more. This was anything but. It was worse than something I would think came out of a box. Overall it wasn't enjoyable and even though we said we might give it another chance, we haven't been back.

Pros: Great Smell

Cons: Food and desserts were not at all worth it

After smelling the smoke driving by in my car, decided to stop by and try it. The ribs were just bones with barely any meat on them, side dishes were tasting old, and the price was way too high for what I got. Would not recommend it, unless they change.

Pros: on the way home

Cons: no meat on ribs, old tasting side dishes, high price
