Mountain View Golf Course by Donald L. at InsiderPages

This is a very interesting golf course, quirky, but interesting. Holes 10, 12, and 13 are all par threes. #12 is the signature hole in that you hit off a cliff down to a very small green, with a creek running along the back of the hole. It's not a course I would want to play every day, but more like a couple times a year. The scenery and views are unbelievable. It's one of those courses that you finish in 4 1/2 hours, and it feels like you've been playing for 6 hours. A fun course to play, but not every day.

Layout: 18 holes, par-71, 5,920 yards
Rating: 68.0 from the back
Reservations: Call
Designer: Bill O'Meara & Jeremy Reding
Walk-ons: Weekdays; singles on weekends.
Driving range: 22 mats; nice facility
Toughest hole: The signature hole is the 12th, a par-3 that loses 125 feet of altitude in a mere 178 yards (plays about 140), to a tough sloped green where you can get putts that break up to eight feet and scores that rise just as quickly.
Easiest Hole: There is a fairway bunker to keep you from going for the green, which you may be tempted to do on the par-4 16th, only 269 yards from the whites.
Overview: The front is flat; the back is hilly, with the spectacular views you expect from a course called Mountain View. Water was added last year and affects 4 holes on the front. There is a creek on the 14th and 15th, and a lot of tricky lies on the back. A better-than-average winter course.
