I can't say enough about the enormous and enormously good hamburgers from Calamity Jane's. Our family loves to stop in for the great atmosphere and burgers, and our kids love the frozen mugs of root beer. Bring your appetite because you won't eat for days if you can finish one of the burgers here.

Oh my gosh, they have the biggest mug of beer you can drink! The burgers are teriffic becaude they have so many different kinds. We went there with my daughters softball team and and the girls enjoyed it. The prices are very reasonable for what you get.

Huge hamburgers of every variety you can imagine. They have a salad bar too and huge milk shakes. Share one with a friend. It is a fun place to visit.

The milk shakes are also out of this world. We go there once or twice a year because four of us can get two menu orders and split them. The food is good ole country food

So my family went to clamatiy jane's for our annual family reunion. we showed up unannonced with 30 people most of them being screaming 2 year olds. the manager imediatley opened there patio for us and gave us our own server. the manager came out to check on us, she then talked all the guys in our group into the trailboss burgers (which are 1 pound each) and of course we all had shakes. after our meal most of the guys need to take there burgers home.... out came a hand drawn BOX OF SHAME. WE LOVED IT!!!! Kudos to whom ever came up with that, and thank you clamity staff for making our family time a very enjoyable time.

This place has been around forever and when you first step inside it smells like it. It has an old musty cigarette smell, not that appetizing. Once you get used to it the place is ok but the food is just average and the service pretty poor. We were given the wrong soup and since the server never came back to check we finally had to ask someone else to get the correct soup for us. They also forgot to bring my son's milk until we asked, after the food was delivered. The burgers are huge, definetly can be split. The sandwiches are ok, nothing special. If driving up to the mountain and hungry it is an ok place to eat but not worth going out of your way for. Very kid friendly, they have a kids menu, crazy decor, and brought crayons and a picture for him to color while we waited. More of the kind of place you go once to say you have been since it is kindof iconic in East county. My husband went as a kid 30 years ago and says the place hasn't changed a bit except his taste buds grew up and he can see why his parent's were never that excited to go there!

  • Pros: Kid Friendly, Crazy Pizza Burgers, local landmark
  • Cons: average food at best, poor service, hard to pull out of lot onto busy hwy, smelly dining room

Every one loves calamity janes. I hear some people from the city complain about it's cheesy decor, and strange menu...but come on...it's awesome that they serve everything (and I mean everything) in a cast iron pan, but that's totally part of it's charm. They make HUGE burgers, huge shakes...it's all great. If you're looking for something sane or bland, this is not the place for you! But this really is a great kooky gem in Sandy...try it once!

  • Pros: fun, kids love it, decent/huge food

Great food...HUGE food...classic american fare, and really hoakie western decorations! I grew up on the mountain and i've always liked Calamity Janes. Famous for their burgers and desserts. Wait staff of local teenagers is not stellar but they get the job done.

  • Pros: classic american food, really tasty
