Great food IF they get your order right..... operative IF. The food keeps me coming back, or did until they got our order (for take out) wrong again tonight. This was the 8th time they got the order wrong. We used to go there a lot. But it's really frustrating getting home, getting ready to sit down for dinner, opening the box and finding someone else's order inside. It's not any particular employee. It must be something systemic with the place. THEY GET THE ORDER WRONG SO OFTEN.  View Less View More

Solid alternative in SW Asian restaurant field. i am becoming a fan of pho. I really like the flavor spectrum of tangy, spicy, minty and beefy. You eat this on a rainy portland winter's eve and you will feel sated. It's soup but its maximum soup. Get a side of rolls and yer set for the starches.

Owner seems like a solid guy too.  View Less

Great fresh ingredients, one bad server.. I have been eating here for about 4 years. I love the Beef Salad and many of the noodle dishes. Everything is seasoned well with great sauces. The veggies are always fresh! I agree that the owner is very nice and always has a smile. Most of the servers are attentive and pleasant. The only negative thing i have say about the restaurant is about one server. Hope that you don't ever get the girl with long hair and the nose piercing. The first time i had awful service from her i gave her the benefit of the doubt since every one has a bad day and customer service can be a difficult job. But now i have had her several times. She will just throw down the menus on the table for you and just walk away. She never smiles or says anything polite. She barely checks on you. The worst is when you hear her yell at the other bussers or servers in front of all the customers. She needs to go because she obviously hates her job. It ruins a delightful experience at one of our favorite restaurants.  View Less View More

Best Pho. This has got to be the best pho in town for the price. The number 1 is with sirloin and is my favorite. This place really hits the spot on a rainy Portland day.

They also have moon cakes.  View Less

Best Vietnamese in Portland. I'm surprised at the negative reviews on this page. I've been eating here for 2 years and my Vietnamese fiance and her Vietnamese mother find this restaurant to be amongst the best in the city.

The Pho Ga is authentic, the Salads are all made fresh and taste great, the Summer Rolls are always fresh and taste wonderful. It's true if you get to know the owner, he'll treat you wonderfully.

The servers at times have difficulty with english, so order based on the number/letter combo next to your selection. Avoid the "non-Vietnamese" items as they tend to not be as good as the more traditional items.

Call up 20 minutes in advance for take out and you will have a complete meal ready to take home with you.  View Less

Great Food! Great People!. I have been eating at Thanh Long for the last 4 years and brought many friends. The fõod is excellent and if you get to know the owners, they are just awsome people who are truly dedicated community services.

Thanh Long has their own great parking in the back. This is a jewel for downtown.  View Less

Food: Mmm...Bomb. I really like the new decorated restaurant and atmosphere. The service is quick and the people are very friendly, especially the owner. I love this place because lunch and dinner servings can fill you up for days with leftovers for tomorrow. Thanh Long gives you healthy food at a price that you can afford. The food is delicious, the service is fast, and a good cheap a walk from campus.  View Less View More

Good food. This place has some very good dishes at reasonable prices, and many vegetarian options.
