My mother stayed here and loved it. Food, shopping and staff were very helpful and kind. The have the most beautiful lobby and rooms. She only wants to stay here when she visits. Wish this place was in Austin Texas when I visit her. Nothing close to this there.

my husband and i went here for a night away from the kids and we're very happy with all the personal attention and service, everyone is so friendly and professional. our room was very nice, a great view of the river and a very comfortable king size bed! we had dinner in the hotels restaurant , the food was great, the setting was o.k., but the drinks from the bar were horrible! the woman at the front desk reccomended a few places nearby, and a map, so we walked a couple of blocks to Veritable Quandary for cocktails instead. in the morning we ordered room service which was promt and delicious! overall it was a really nice stay!!! we'd definately go again.....
Pros: service, nice rooms, great in town getaway
Cons: bar, no spa services

My wife and I stay at The Riverplace every couple of months. We have stayed there for conferences and for the location close to the Keller for Broadway Plays. This hotel is the most comfortable in Portland, and the service is second to none. All the staff are friendly and responsive to any requests. The most professional hotel person that I have ever encountered is Mellissa, who has been there for some time now. She is always there to welcome you with a smile and is always willing to make sure your stay is perfect, which to date, always is. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, and we will continue to return.
Pros: Service, location, great bar.
Cons: None

the staff is wonderful and very knowledgable and helpful. lunch at the restaurant was great. the views are great, and the streetcar into the hip pearl district was a 5 minute walk from hotel. a nice perk is that all guests get to reserve their 2-person spa for free, and it includes a small and very clean jacuzzi and sauna. a nice touch. we were in a queen room with an uncomfortable bed, then a king room with an amazingly comfortable one. its pricey, but very nice. not at all edge or trendy, though. but they arent messing around with this hotel. they're pros.
Pros: great staff, nice free sauna, good food, views
Cons: pricey

What a great visit we had here! All the friendlyness and amenities of a boutique hotel with the showcase waterfront location of a bigger establishment. Very warm and "Northwesty". Excellent food in the restaurant, a swanky little spa next door and close access to a free streetcar system that tgakes you to all the best parts of town. It's all here!
Pros: location, service, food

This hotel is the best hotel we have ever stayed at. We fell in love with their feather beds and have changed our own since we loved them so much. The staff was fantastic, extremely helpful and personable. We didn't meed a snobby employee anywhere. Food at the restaurant was wonderful as well. Having to pay for parking was a turn-off at first but turned out to be an additional treat. The valet service was wonderful. The assisted us with out lugged both coming and going and treated us like royalty. Make sure you don't miss the homemade cookies at the front desk. Ask what time they will be available. We missed the first day and were disappointed we missed it after having the most divine peanut butter cookies the second day. This is a must stay hotel. Try out the Portland Spa that is next door as well. Fabulous!
Pros: Location, Luxurious rooms
Cons: none

I stayed at the RiverPlace a few weeks back and I've never been more impressed with a hotel. The hotel was recently renovated and the lobby looks amazing. They put in a new restaurant. The food was great and the atmosphere was ideal. Our table had a great view as it's right on the river. There was outdoor seating as well. They installed a new business center so I was able to check email. I was told there's also free wireless internet in all of the rooms. The rooms are great and the bed is out of this world. It's probably the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Puts the Heavenly Bed to shame. To top it off, the employees are among the nicest and most helpful I've ever encountered. I highly highly recommend this hotel.
Pros: Free Parking, Restaurant, Comfortable Beds

WE JUST RETURNED FROM 2 NIGHTS AT THE RIVERPLACE, ENDING 7.02.04 AND FOUND THE DELUXE ROOMS TO BE A LITTLE SMALLER THAN EXPECTED BUT THE BEDDING WAS FAR SUPERIOR THAN WE EXPECTED: UNBELIEVABLY COMFORTABLE PILLOWTOP MATTRESSES WITH FEATHERBEDS ON TOP, THEN WITH DOWN DUVETS. THIS WAS ABSOLUTELY THE MOST COMFORTABLE HOTEL BED I HAVE EVER SLEPT IN. (HEAVENLY BEDS DONT HOLD A CANDLE TO THIS.) ALSO, EVERYONE AT THIS HOTEL WAS EXTREMELY NICE AND HELPFUL.
Pros: EXTRAORDINARILY BEDS, REALLY NICE PEOPLE, GREAT RIVER VIEWS

When my folks came to visit us, we wanted to pamper them and also get a taste of Portland that they would not get staying with us at home. So we made a reservation at their luxury suite during the Christmas vacation time. It game them a chance to do some sight-seeing and do shopping, which they thoroughly enjoyed. We visited them at the hotel twice and it was obvious that they were very happy and comfortable. Service and amenities were just first class and ambience was just perfect for relaxing.
Pros: top notch service, ambience, location
Cons: none
