Took my elderly folks to lunch here and the cute waitress was very patient with them. The food was satisfactory enough but it was the pool tables in the bar that caught my eye. I certainly will go back for a meal and shoot some pool. A very friendly place.
Pros: Good food, pool tables in bar, cute wait staff
Cons: Schredded lettuce on burgers and flimsy hamburger buns

I love this place! My best friend and I have been regulars for over a year now. The wait staff is awesome we don't even need to order because they know our order every time........2 Bacon swiss burgers with a pile of awesome crispy fries and 2 long island's hold the gin extra tequila served in those fantabulous mini carafe's!!! Feels like your getting two drinks for the price of one!!! Almost didn't want to brag about how great this place is because I like the cozy feel with the new artsy pictures for sale posted on the walls. The burgers are great, not greasy and you can tell it's real beef and not the processed stuff. The owner is a great guy and the servers are very nice. Service is great, food is always hot and fresh! And it's no smoking inside, which is super nice. Who likes to eat and smell the linger of some stale nasty cigerette. If your looking for the best burger and fries in town, this is the place to go! And of course for the long islands! :)

What a friendly bar! I met some cool people at the pool tables and the internet jukebox was very enjoyable. The bartenders were nice and poured a good drink. I was told the Limelight went non-smoking after the first of the year and that's something this reviewer likes. The food at the Limelight was delicious. Thumbs up to the cooks in the kitchen. I'll definitely be back!
Pros: non-smoking, pool tables, internet jukebox, good food, good drinks

Rule Number 1: Hire staff who don't so obviously hate working in a bar! What a miserable group of bartenders and cocktailers. It is as if they feel they are doing you a favor because they popped the top off of your beer. The Lamelight, as it has become known to many in the the area, is in a great location and could be so much more than it is! But the sour faces and terrible attitudes of the staff have made me feel, on all 3 occasions I have been there, like I was interrupting a wake when I asked for a drink. Food is average bar (burgers, sandwiches, fryer fare). Pool tables and jukebox are mild draws.
Pros: Good location. Pool tables.
Cons: Miserable staff...obviously hate their jobs.

They may take offense to this statement, but great dive bar. Food is average bar fare in this city, nothing special. Mixed drinks are great, but sometimes they focus so much on their specialties that standard fall flat (ex. poor margarita). The bar is awesome. Walking distance from my house, smokey, 2 run down pool tables, freindly folks and an ecclectic juke box. We tortured everone for 3 hours this past Friday with our wierd tatstes... Great spot to hang out.

As a veteran of the downtown scene, I realize I don't want to "club" it all that often anymore. Since I live in the neighborhood (Westmoreland, not Sellwood like the other person says) I needed to find the best local spot. The Limelight serves this purpose. The food is not quite as good as the Springwater Grill down the street, but it is cheaper and the attached bar gives it a different dimension. They have all the bar necessities such as a good music system, pool tables, video games, and VP. This is not a destination establishment, so locals only, please...
Pros: Calamari, Cheap drinks, Nifty little bar
Cons: Parking

The atmosphere here is lacking a bit (boring but clean dining room, smoky and dark bar), but the food and drinks are surprisingly good. Very fresh cobb salad with plenty of chicken and bacon; really skinny, crisp, hot and salty fries; good sandwiches and specials. Cocktails are strong and tasty, too. Best-kept secret in Sellwood!
Pros: great food, good prices, strong cocktails
Cons: not much atmosphere
