At this upscale, all-suite hotel chain, guests enjoy abundant amenities and a free cooked-to-order breakfast.

In Short
In 1984, the first Embassy Suites location debuted in Overland Park, Kan. Today, the property's luxury accommodations make it an ideal hotel for conferences, special events and weddings. All hotel rooms are spacious two-room suites that include a separate living area with a sofa bed and desk, a private bedroom, two televisions, a wet bar, a refrigerator and a coffeemaker. Guests may also attend a nightly reception with beverages.

Great ambience and service

by pmcj64

A loyal Hilton customer & frequent traveler; stayed at many full & limited service hotels. This E.S. is the nicest ever. Not your typical Embassy. The pool, fitness area, and breakfast areas are all tucked away in other spacious areas of the hotel. Elegant, welcoming, peaceful lobby. THIS E.S. is vintage, classy, upscale, and the service is top-notch. Great desk staff, friendly housekeepers & service staff at the breakfast & manager's reception. The complimentary breakfast is over the top...great selection, fresh & hot foods, great presentation. Exceptional value. Restaurant off the lobby isn't very kid friendly, but attentive staff and very good food. The Salon/Spa is right off the lobby and has great services, too. Definitely a must-stay!

  • Pros: Ambience, multi-lingual staff, service
  • Cons: no airport shuttle?

Awesome!

by sweethb

stayed for 4 days, they were very pleasant, accomdating as we were out of towners. They gave great maps, so helpful on how to get around downtown portland. And very nice and accomdating to us, as we are deaf. Every employee made sure we were taken care of. The breakfast was amazing! every morning! lots of choices, and delicious! Our little kid couldnt eat much breakfast as they have this beautiful water fountain in the middle of the cafteria. The kitchen in the room was wonderful, especially when you have a child, having a refegeriator is extremely helpful. the resturant in the hotel, is very not family friendly, as I had to bring my own crayons they did not have childrens menu. The staff were a bit snotty. but food was soo delicious! This hotel was beyond my expectations, defintely will stay next time!

  • Pros: breakfast, service wonderful, room was amazing
  • Cons: resturant in the hote, bus boy

Love this place

by pandaspeedos

I have been traveling to Portand for a little over three years now for business. I started out at the Marriot, switched to the Benson, then Embassy Suites was suggested to me by a colleague. I have been coming to this hotel for just about two years, and look forward to seeing their welcoming faces, everytime I visit Portland this is the place for me. This hotel is great because they offer the most for a great price. Their complimentary happy hour and full breakfast buffet is the best around, and they also provide a courtesy shuttle for guests all over downtown which is something not found at any other hotels. This is the place to go to see hospitality at its best.

  • Pros: Front Desk, Breakfast, Happy Hour

The Best in Portland

by dinosaur111

I have stayed at many hotels in Portland, and have been travelling to Portland for the past 15 years. This is the only place I will stay or recommend. They have everything-free breakfast, large rooms, a pool and fitness center and great people. Give it a try

  • Pros: Large rooms, nice people, great restaurant

Great historic hotel

by alwaysontheroad

This place is excellent!! The valet and front desk personnel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is gorgeous to say the least! The entire property is outstanding and in a great central location. The breakfast that goes with every Embassy stay is in a lovely room downstairs. The rooms offer fantasic views of the city as well. The hotel has a great history as well if you are interested...a coffee table book in the room can keep you entertained for quite awhile. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area.

What happened?

by BillnSEA

Now, I have stayed at this hotel many times before. But something has really changed about the service I have been recieving the last couple of weeks. It seems as if though people don't enjoy working there as they used to. I am going to try this hotel again, but if things don't change I will take my business elsewhere.

I want to live here

by kate0094

I wish I could move to Portland. However, since my job prevents me from moving anywhere right now, I will have to be content visiting as often as I can. The place I always chose to stay is this hotel. I cant say enough about the beauty and serenity of the hotel and the wonderful people who work there. You walk in the doors and you experience a calm, elegant atmosphere whether it is busy or slow and the service is, without fail, top notch. Always smiling, always willing to help out, especially the front desk staff. Come to think of it, I would almost want to live at the hotel!

  • Pros: Service, Beautiful

This Hotel was SO great!

by Steve_gregory

Everyone, from the staff at the front door to the breakfast staff in the morning, was friendly, pofessional and NICE! The hotel is beautiful, set in a historic building and a very nice change from traditional Embassy Suites. What made my stay memorable, however, was the great service provided by Amanda at the front desk and Rachle at comp bar! What friendly, caring and great people! I will be back!!!!
