We went here last night and totally loved this place! Just make sure not to trip on the ledge in the doorway because the bartender will see you do it and make fun of you....The jukebox is amazing! Elliot Smith, Dropkick Murhphy's, Black Flag, The Pogues....definitely way better than most jukeboxes. PBR is frickin cheap and you can actually sit and talk to your friends without having to be an inch away to hear them....

Pros: The most amazing jukebox ever

Cons: Bathrooms were scary

Interesting characters... right next to max stop... $1 tall boys of Rainer that night... That was about the best of it

On the same day I saw a crazy drunk homeless man chewing on a tampon trying to come in the bar (denied) and ate a steak prepared over a hobo fire (f'in great). The bartenders are fantastic and there's always a few hotties lurking in the crowd. I can't get enough of this place. I'm constantly stuck to my barstool reading a book and being poured one beer after another. The only ewwww-ish thing is sleazy people hitting on you when you're the only broad in the bar on a sunday, but it's worth it because when they win at video poker they buy you beer. Ahhhhh, free beer.

Pros: bartenders, price, tattoo'd people

Cons: old homeless guys, DON'T EAT THE FOOD!

Lets face it. The Yamhole is the best dive in downtown. The bathrooms are gross (pro!), they allow all legal smokes (I'm a clove smoker), during happy hour they have $4 large pitchers of PBR (which are normally $5), and sometimes have $1 pints of PBR specials. Bartenders are amazing as long as you're not rude. I've seen'em toss people out which is always amusing. Patrons are usually sloshed (pro!) and they've a decent jukebox (tom waits, nick cave, hank iii, devo, johnny cash). Their classy drinks are expensive which usually keeps trendy trash out and keeps low-lifes and losers like myself in. It's right on the MAX line, and since they moved the bus mall, I have to crawl less than a block to my stop. You can also write on the wall with a sharpie (Which my friend and I do anytime we can), and they have The Sacred Chess Board of the Yamhill there. You have to ask Ollie to use it though, and you have to ask nicely. I think it's missing a few pieces. I go there as often as possible. I dont think they actually have most of the food on their menu on hand, and the few things they have are raunchy (another pro!). Once a drunk guy asked to see my clove and then put it out and told me it smelled like sh*t. I looked at him in disbelief, but about twenty minutes later, he said he was sorry and gave us the rest of his pitcher of beer (which was almost full). That's the kind of place the Yamhill is.

Pros: cheap pbr, trashy bathrooms, rad bartenders, can write on the walls

Cons: jukebox could be better, i'm not there right now

really liked both bartenders there today. felt right at home even though i am a yankee's fan (the barman was a boston fan). his drinks could be stiffer, but the beer is cheap.

Pros: some hot chicks, top shelf costs lotta

Cons: some nasty chicks, well liq is nasty

Have been here about twenty or so times in the past year. The place is very conveniently located downtown right on the MAX lines. The prices can't be beat. Usually very easy to strike up a conversation with other patrons. The staff is usually quite good at setting the TV to sports that the customers want to see. Service is good, and bartenders are fairly friendly. Bathrooms could use a do-over.

Pros: Location, PBR priced right

Great place for a beer (or more) after work before heading home. Be respectful to the bartenders ( as one should!) or you wont get squat! Prices are amazing 2 bucks for a small pitcher of pabst, need I say more.

Pros: Cheap Drinks, Cheap food

Cons: Crowded, Cheap food

This place was okay - good prices and beer choice. You apparently can get 86's for calling the bartender bad names (someone tried to come in that had been bad the night before), but you get another chance if you pick a fight (someone else from the night before that caused a brawl still got served). Okay place.

Pros: Good beer choice, price

Cons: No atmosphere
