Excellent Service
by dancinzone
Frank and his staff reserved the VIP balcony for my party and provided excellent service with delicious pizza and drinks. Everyone had an awesome time and will return and spread the word. Cheers to Dante's!
- Pros: VIP Balcony - Service - Food - Drinks - Music
- Cons: None
Attack of the poser gimps!
by zeffer555
This place is full...of poser gimps.
- Cons: Everyone in there is posing way too hard.
Portlands best venue.

Wow I went there tonight for the Sunday Sinferno Show. My money was well spent the show was amazing and the staff was great. I even had the amazing chance to meet the owner of the club Frank, it is not often that the owner of a place will converse with his customers. Needless to say Frank was very nice and left me with a warm welcome feeling with dantes.
Never liked this place, but now I can safely say it's somehow worse.

I have never been a fan of this place. However, when we went to see a show here the other night and paid $30 we thought we were in for a good time. After watching some opening acts for a couple hours and realizing it was 1am, I asked the door girl when the headliners were going on. To my surprise, they had canceled. There was no notification of this at all! I asked about getting my money back and was told to call the manager the next day. I did this, and what a surprise, didn't get my money back. It would have at least been nice if they put a sign on the door or told me when I walked in that the headliner I had paid to see wasn't going to be there. Oh well. Common courtesy is lost on most.
- Pros: Well, I was there.
- Cons: Unfortunately, I left.
Saturday Night Entertainment
by hammerbabe328
My husband and I stayed in Portland recently and picked Dante's for their Saturday Night show - Subterranean Caberet. There was a Seattle group playing, and we found both the music and show to be very entertaining! It was my birthday and we were so lucky to wander in! The musicians, dancers, MC, and crowd were all upbeat and the atmosphere was friendly and in party mode. There was a very diverse crowd - all ages and style of dress from jeans and sweaters to short black dresses and heels. No baseball caps. Two drinks were 11.75 plus tip - pretty typical.
I have two cons that I want to share with readers. The first is that the service at the large bar was horrible. I thought my husband was exaggerating about her rudeness, so I attempted to order the next round with no luck. She wasn't busy, just leaning and chatting. Order from the small bar!
Second, we decided to stay for the second show and all patrons staying were told to leave their coats at the tables (or lose your table) and line up OUTSIDE to pay again!!! I wasn't so much put off by having to pay $6 for the second show, but I was freezing without my coat! I have never seen a business do that. A good way to have customers change their minds about staying...
My hang

The best drinks and hangover food ever. I love the big open cieling. I have never been disapointed with the sound system. I have also been by there for lunch. Even though it's a nightclub it still feels cozy.
Keep it up!
- Pros: The best real cheese pizza
- Cons: No breakfast
Sundays are fun, other nights appear a little hardcore if you are without ear plugs
by noisycow
The performances on Sunday night are great. The stage host/MC guy is hilarious - reminds me of the guy from The Soup on E!. Beers are cheap, pizza is decent. Because Sunday nights are stage performance oriented, it is a good night/place to go solo vs most other bars. As you go in, go to the small bar to the right. NOT the large bar to the left. I have never had such horrible service at a bar throughout the evening, on two separate nights. The airhead just kind of loiters around while you stand, elbow up to the bar, holding your money. Never seen anything like it at a bar. People next to me said 'good luck buddy' to my attempts at getting a beer lol. I guess if you die your hair black, get tons of tattoos, and have a bad attitude you are not expected to do your job. At one point she was chatting away with someone at the end of the bar while at least a dozen people were waiting for drinks. I always overtip, but I had to dig up a quarter for her fantastic efforts.
- Pros: Stage entertainment on Sunday nights are a standout
- Cons: Service at the main bar is simply non-existence, find a roaming waitress
Good bar, bad pizza...
by therealcritic
I have enjoyed many good bands at this bar, "Karaoke from hell" is fun too. Drinks were okay, the pizza really sucked! I will still go there again next time band I like plays there. Eat somewhere else first before you go. Also be sure to bring some earplugs, their soundguy is deaf as a post.
Sinferno - its HOT!
by copperkitten39
This place is amazing! Sunday night Sinferno - I don't care who you are, stop by with an open mind and you'll have a great time. Great music, food, entertainment, prices - seriously, if you live in Portland and you value taking advantage of unique aspects of the city, go there.
Great Atmosphere

Sinferno on Sunday's is the BEST show in town. BEST! Check it out once. You gotta see it! Great service! EXCELLENT pizza. Fun crowd. Mature. Not your average Portland nob's hang out. Cool place. Go. Enjoy. Listen to music.
