I booked 2 massages last minute for me and my boyfriend. I really wanted to do a couples massage but every other spa was booked. I settled on doing our massages separately but really wished I hadn't. The inside is decent enough, I expected something a little bit nicer for the price. I did not like the location at all, the Embassy parking garage is small and poorly designed making it dangerous to drive or walk through. The area that Embassy hotel is in isn't as desirable as it once was and I saw several bums on our way in. (I guess what can you expect from Portland) We arrived 15 minutes early and sat until they were ready. They offered us wine (and didn't charge, I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen.) The massage was great and took the entire 60 minutes. It's nice they are open late otherwise we wouldn't have made it after work. Overall ok, but I think the next time I want a massage I will try somewhere else.

I had a great time at Salon Nyla. My facial was the best I've ever had, and I have had many. The girl who did my hair cut was super nice. She did a great job..... relaxing shampoo and awsome cut. I love the way she styled my hair. My only complaint is the pedicures. They don't have the foot baths with the jets and the massage chair. They just use reagular foot baths and they had me rest my foot on her lap. I was worried I was hurting her and she looked uncomfortable. The manicures are was not that great either. I would not recomend going there to get your nails done. However, this is the best salon for hair and skin care.

Pros: Great staff, Great customer service, Great hair cuts!

Cons: Bad pedicure facilities.

I had a good initial experience, but when I left the second time I felt that my hair looked absolutely stupid. I do not know what the hairdresser heard me say but it wasn't, "give me an 80s teen movie bob, please!" I called the salon and complained -they had me back to see one of their lead hairdressers but in the 30 minutes they gave me she could not do much to improve the hair. My feeling is that they should have offered a complete haircut from shampoo to style... especially since they took my credit card number and said they'd charge me 30 or 40 dollars for a no show. NOT a recommended salon.

Pros: convenient location

Cons: 30 or 40 dollar deposit against a no-show

I've been to a lot of salon's and salon nyla is the best- so friendly and they bent over backward to make sure I was comfortable. I had the best massage and facial ever.

All I wanted was to get waxed and they were completely booked for over a week. The receptionist kept me on the phone for 15 mins and kept changing days and time when they could fit me in....I ended without an appointment but being put on the waitlist. Too bad the receptionist hung up before she could take my number. Does a waitlist even exist? Pls get other receptionists!!

Cons: Unprofessional, Disorganized, Unfriendly

My cousins and I have all been getting our hair done by Yuki since she's been at Salon Nyla. I had my hair done by someone else once at Salon Nyla and it wasn't the same. Yuki even did my cousins hair for her wedding and she looked fabulous! I HIGHLY recommend her! She does such a great job that our hair looks good even while it's growing out. The only negative thing I have to say about Salon Nyla is that the receptionists are sometimes unaware of customers standing in the waiting area and talk about their private lives. They have also been really rude on the phone.

Pros: free parking

I am in love with this place. The staff there worked wonders and were so friendly and open. The whole time I was there I was being pampered and catered to. I absolutely loved my massage and facial -- so very relaxing. My skin feels terrific! And then I got a pedicure that was out of this world -- my feet are so smooth and the massage was great. To top it all off, they gave me even more massaging during my shampoo. I left feeling more relaxed than I have in years. I can't recommend this enough. Everyone needs to unwind like this!

Pros: Friendly, convenient location, free parking

Cons: can't go more often!

I went to Nyla salon expecting it to be great after a thorough discussion on the phone with the receptionist. I explained that I have difficult hair and I need somebody who knows how to style and cut curly hair. She assured me that the owner is excellent. I went ahead and scheduled an appointmnet thinking that the owner must know curly hair. I was wrong. The owner had no idea how to cut or style it. I was told to go on the street with big frizz on my head. I ended up styling my own hair and paying 50 bucks for it. Upsetting and not very pleasant. If I saw my customers doing my job because I can't do it, I wouldn't have charged them for it. I was very dissatisfied.

Cons: Expertise

I was so excited to come here and celebrate my 30th birthday w/ 3 girlfriends, wine and champagne. Unfortunately, it was the worst part of my day; the salon lost our reservation despite our calling and confirming earlier that week. After sitting in the waiting area for nearly 20 minutes and being ignored, they finally told us they did not have us in their books and there was nothing they could do. No apologies, no attempt at working us in somehow, no explanation for the mistake. We were treated as invisible and an inconvenience. What should have been a fun milestone day turned into a huge disappointment and no one at the slaon seemed to care less that 4 people's busy schedules ended up being a wasted afternoon for us all. This place is horrible and heartless and I would never return or recommend this place to anyone.

Pros: None

Cons: Terrible service, Unprofessional, Snooty atmosphere
