This Portland-based mini-chain serves up sophisticated slices.

In Short
Behind the street-side picture windows, the sleek decor of modern furniture and highly polished floors feels nothing like a typical pizza joint. In keeping with the visuals, the pies are upscale versions of their traditional cousins. Gourmet toppings like spicy shrimp and barbecued chicken are layered atop thin crusts brushed with olive oil and garlic. Rounding out the menu are fresh salads and paninis, complemented by local wines and microbrews.
Caesar Salad

The Caesar salad is so yummy, especially if you like garlic. A $4.50 lunch of a small chicken caesar can't be beat, I go there almost every day.
WOW!!!

I'm a guy's guy that subsists on pizza....a friend turned me off of Pizza Oasis and ON to Pizzicato. I'm never going back. Pizzicato's pies are absolutely the best. And for all those people that complain the crust is soggy on take-out orders...READ THE BOX....it tells you to put the pie in the oven when you get home....then it tastes absolutely perfect!
- Pros: multi-locations, professional service
Pizza for the Gourmet
by MikeKugler
I can't say enough about the thought that has gone into these pizzas. My roommate is a trained chef that used to work at Pizzicato. They care enough about ingredients that they pay extra to import high-tariff cheeses from France even though they know that only a handful of people will ever appreciate it.
Lousy.

Pizzicato is never great, merely sufficient. This one, on Alder, is significantly less than that. Cramped and hot, with lousy service and amazingly long lines at the lunch hour (Yes, its Downtown at lunch, but their poor staffing more than plays a part). The last two visits, my slices have been stone cold and tasteless. There are some really excellent independent pizza joints downtown, why waste your money on this overpriced dreck?
- Pros: Conviently located
- Cons: cramped & hot, cold, tasteless pizza, slow, nasty service
