AMAZING! We hadn't been to Pazzo in awhile and we were blown away by the food, the atmosphere and the service. The new Chef, John Eisenhart is really hitting every note with his seasonal menu. Most items are prepared in house with fresh, local, organic and free range ingredients. The flavors are remarkable. In our group we had a few timid diners that found comfort food that worked for them, such as local free range chicken, a Delmonico Steak and fresh Alaskan Halibut. The rest of us were more adventurous and were absolutely delighted with our server's recommendation of house made Gnochhi with a Wild Boar Ragu, Kona Kampachi flown over fresh from Hawaii, Paparadelle with a lamb sauce that is finished with fresh mint. Everyone agreed, THE FOOD IS REMARKABLE! We also enjoyed perusing the wine list which had over 200 types of wine with a wonderful collection of Super Tuscans, Barolo, Barberesco, Brunello.... Our server, Vickie was a delight. She was able to help us choose a wonderful Barbaresco and shared with us her stories of helping to pick the grapes with Aldo Vacca of the Produttori del Barbaresco. If you are a wine afficienado, we recommend that you ask for Vickie when you visit. She has a real grasp of the wines available on their menu. Vickie's service was friendly and impeccable. She spent time with us answering our questions about the menu and made great suggestions for our varied palettes. Our food was served hot and in a timely manner. We were pleased with every aspect of our experience and look forward to going back soon. We felt that the prices were a good value given the quality of the food. And all agreed that this was the best dining experience that we had in Portland in the last few years. If you haven't checked out Pazzo in awhile. Don't wait. You'll be glad that you returned!
